The Bundesliga has some solid teams who can compete in Europe but they’re missing another top club or more on the same level as Bayern. Unfortunately it’s not that easy to fix this problem because the Bundesliga don‘t allow investors to own the majority of a club. Leipzig could get there but most Germans probably don’t want this to happen. The Bundesliga is a great league with great fan culture but it’s definitely lacking competition. Exactly this, with the 50+1 rule we have it is impossible for anyone such as Dortmund or Gladbach to win the league as there is no way we can catch up to the money and facilities they have
One counter argument being pro 50+1 rule is that if it becomes where the billionaires come in with the money and do what happened in England then the fan culture will suffer. Prices will drive up and it can take away the experience for the fans. Now for the farming league title, I guess it’s true but if you think about it, it gives young stars of non traditional football teams (like say Poland, Switzerland and the non favorite countries, I don’t know how else to put it) to develop their game, get that experience which carries over to the national teams. And quite frankly sometimes German clubs outside of Bayern and dortmund do surprise other bigger clubs in Europe so I wouldn’t exactly say the 50+1 is a bad thing.

Just looking at the performance, the title is well deserved for Bayern. But as a football fan following the Bundesliga title "race" is just not the real experience anymore as it used to be until the early 2010s. I started actively following the league in the 2012/13 season which means that I've never witnessed another champion than Bayern apart from the occasional news report that I saw before that. I really don't know what has to change since on the one hand, the gap between Bayern and the rest is just too big but on the other one the Bundesliga would most likely fall behind the other four big leagues in case regulations like salary caps etc. would be implemented. I don't know whether you've discussed that kind of issue in any way on your channel yet (since it's not exclusive to the Bundesliga but can also be seen in basically all other league to a certain extend) but I'd love to hear your opinion and maybe ideas about it at some point in the future :)
i think a salary cap would only ruin german football as a whole and put bundesliga teams in a position where they dont do anything in europe also it would hinder bayerns philosophy they usually arent the big spender both buying players and giving them contracts
@@nine1yk944 Yes, the issue is very complicated since it's difficult to predict what consequences some actions would have. But I think that something has to be done bc otherwise the league will become more and more unattractive.
Hey Theo, nice video! Are you planning on going to the german DFB-Pokal Final SC Freiburg against RB Leipzig? As a big Freiburg fan, I would love to see your live reaction to our first big final in our history!

FC Bayern has brutally returned the favour for these haemorrhages. 10 times German champions in a row and much more importantly won the CL final in London against Borussia in 2013. FC Bayern Munich means true greatness!

The problem with Dortmund is that they have lost almost all of their crucial matches this season, especially when Bayern was struggling a bit. People are saying that Bayern Munich is light years ahead of all Bundesliga clubs including Dortmund, especially when it comes to economics. This may be right, but if Dortmund wouldn't have failed so many times during this season when it came to the very important matches and in the rare cases that Bayern failed (but they did several times), the title race could have been much more wide open. That's the difference to the Premiership, for example. Liverpool has always done its job when ManCity weakened a bit. However, Dortmund was defeated by teams such as Freiburg, Hertha BSC and was not able to win their matches vs. Cologne or Augsburg etc. when there was an opportunity to come real close to Bayern. Not to mention their poor performance in the Champions League or their embarrassing home defeat vs. Rangers in the Europa League.

Thogden, you NEED to go to the Casablanca derby in Morocco, and watch Aris Thessaloniki play against their rivals, I believe it's Paok Thessaloniki fc???
The Maroccan league is nearly at a close, so the next Casablanca derby between Wydad Casablanca and Raja Casablanca will be sometime next season(the draw has not been done yet), I would recommend going with a guide or local, or something like that as it can be pretty dangerous over there. The Thessaloniki derby between Aris, and Paok Thessaloniki is played on the 12th of may at 3:30 New Zealand time(not sure what time or date that is in your part of the world), that derby can also be a little dangerous too. Also, if Shalke Fc get promoted from the Bundesliga second division this season, the derby between them and Dortmund is arguably the biggest in Germany. Hopefully you are able to get to go to one of them, All the best, Liam.
