- Mint Mobile is the easy way to save on wireless with plans starting at $15/mo. Unlimited talk & text, 5G • 4G LTE data on the T-Mobile network and free calling to Mexico and Canada. Genius, right? Plus, we don’t want you to pay for data you don’t use, which is why we offer plans that fit your needs (even Unlimited), and we will tell you if you’re paying us too much. Never overpay for wireless again.
Mint Fox is here to help you activate your new plan and transfer your existing phone number to Mint Mobile. Before we get started, make sure you don't cancel your plan with your current phone carrier until after you switch. Your service must be active with your original carrier in order for them to release your number.
1. Have your old account number, zip code & password/PIN from your previous wireless carrier handy and download the Mint Mobile app or go to mintmobile.com/activate to get started
2. Enter the 11-digit ACT code located on the back of your new Mint Mobile SIM card
and click “Get Started”
3. Select “Transfer an Existing Number” and enter your account number & password from your old phone company
4. Insert your SIM card
5. And that’s it. Most numbers will transfer over within minutes, but some may take up to 24 hours

It took me two months to get my old number ported over because Mint would not send the old carrier the correct billing address. They would send "123 Main St." Watch out for that if you're having trouble too. Mint kept saying I was submitting the wrong information. It was Mint sending a canned response "123 Main St." And here on the video they clearly say you need the billing address but there isn't an option for billing address in the Mint Mobile app!!!!
THESE INSTRUCTIONS HAVE AN ERROR. You do not need the PIN or passcode associated with your old account. What you need is a new "Transfer PIN". You should request this "Transfer PIN" from your old carrier BEFORE you start the process. If you try to set up your Mint service and make this error, the activation will fail and you'll end up chatting with Mint's customer service for 30 minutes while they straighten it out.
Pretty simple procedure, my only issue was AT&T's security block. Once I released that, it went very smooth...just had to fill in a couple of things that didn't transfer is all. Was done in about 3 minutes.
How did you finish that security block? My sister is having the same issue rn
@@phoenixnestgaming Should have received an email from your provider. All you do is respond to it saying it was you that authorized the change.
Awesome 🙌
I have three Iphones. Can I move just one over from ATT to try it out? What if I dont like it and want to go back to that lousy company that I hate more than anything else in the world? One phone is about two months left in payments. Do I just pay ATT the remainder when switching?
If I transfer from t-mobile, how long does the pin number last? Do I need to do the transfer instantly or do I have a time window?
it’s works as well if my carrier it’s t mobile ?
Does Apple use this SIM card for setting up an account and if so where do we obtain it? Thanks.
What if you don't have an old number? I've been out of the country for several years and just returned.
I got my new phone and sim card from Mint. Watched the video, got to the part to activate the sim card and it tells me I have the wrong code..... its the code on the card that Mint provided. So I call customer service and she cant fix it so I will get a call back in 24 hours from the tech people. Not a good way to start out. It looked so easy in the video. Has anyone else had this issue?
Were you able to activate your sim already?
I'm about to hit the 24 hr mark on waiting for my transfer. It asks for a pass code, but instead it wants a numerical pincod3 instead, not a password/ code. So I said screw it and ill get a new number. But if I have to go more than 24 hrs I might dispute the charge and go with someone else.
I purchased a new phone through mint to use on my plan. They sent me a damaged phone. The screen cracked in shipping. I tried to return it, and they wasted my VERY short (3 days for items received damaged) return window telling me "oh, we'll get you that return label in 24-48 hrs" over and over. They wasted more of my time suggesting I go bother Google to have them take responsibility because Mint didn't want to have to replace it.
Mint finally sent me an email telling me that they refuse to take the phone THEY DAMAGED by sending it in an unprotected shipping envelope, back. I've spent the last week calling their customer support, trying to get this decision overturned, to no avail. I keep getting the same "oh, I'm sorry that happened. let me get you that return label in 24-48 hrs." You've got three guesses as to what has yet to show up.
Now I'm stuck with a damaged phone, with a year of cell service I no longer want.
Well, their warehouse is getting the phone back whether they want it or not, and I'm disputing charges with everyone I can think of.
E-Sim yes ❤
Customer Service dived
App doesn't load, blank
Chat box nonexistent waste
It's a shame but I save a bunch of money
What if I have a physical SIM card from my previous carrier but I’m moving to eSim
Did you figure it out?
Thank you Ryan Reynolds
You are marvelous
where to find the 11 digit ACT code for my ATT esim?
Just in case someone is thinking about this, Don't Do It! Can't wait until this year is up. You get what you pay for. It is my understanding that they sold Mint to some other carrier. I hope they do better.
Ah.. but where do I get the Mint sim card to read the ACT code off of?
They mail it to you after online order.
It comes in the sim kit, it's what the sim card is actually on when it arrives.
@@tommyboy1653 Thanks. They should update their instructions / website.
I just did an esim because I didn't have the kit. Worked fine
Okay but that's for activating one person. There's no option in your app to let me select two plans. Nor do you guys give any explanation
How long is a minute bc got damn I'm still waiting after 12 minutes haha
Just switched to mint
My activation code only has ten numbers, not 11??? Can I get a corrected sim card, please??
Look very very closely, you'll see 11 numbers. The number one is printed right up against another number
It got worked out, thank you.
Can you guys please clarify on the sim card that the 'Activate by:" date is not for the customers or remove it entirely?
I might have seen the 45 day activation period on the package but after I threw that out, the packet with the sim says nothing about the 45 days activation period. The only info about the activation period is the one "for Mint Mobile and not for the customers"
Didn't bother activating my SIM because of that and now it's expired and no refunds or replacements. Not happy but I hope this helps someone.
Can y’all put our account numbers on the app? It’s not right that y’all purposely make us have to call just to be able to keep OUR own phone numbers and on top of that the number is closed during the weekends even though a robot is doing all the talking pls fix this, it’s not right and y’all know it
You want Mint to know the account number and pin from a separate company? They cannot control how a different company supplies you with that information. What is so wrong about you needing to know your account number? You can call them up and figure it out like an adult.
@@shaw12222 1. Mind your own business and 2. I wanted my account number from mint mobile not another service and idk if you’re having a hard time reading or what but I did call them and like I said they didn’t answer. I’m with a new service now anyway, I just wanted to know my account number so I could keep my old phone number. they have terrible customer service and it’s not right that they don’t give you your own account number in the first place. That should be basic information already given to you not something you should have to call the company to find out. They do it bc they purposely wanna make it harder for ppl to leave them
And you can just idk write it down?
And you can just type 'you' instead of 'y'all'. Nobody cares where you're from.
I think what they are saying is it's a pain to call and talk to someone to get simple information. It could just included in your account info on the carriers app. Most of the time I am on hold or they just try to upsell me with bs I don't want. And it's just an unnecessary call to begin with.
im switching to mint mobile once i get a pinephone
Please allow blackberrys
Web Customer Service is CRUELING
This isnt even how it works, they want the 19 digit code for the card and the geniuses want to send you a activation text... BEFORE your phone is even activated. Yep you guessed it, you cant get a text cause your phone isnt activated, yet to activate it you need to get a verification text.
When can you start supporting Apple Watch cellular?
Now that they are owned by T-Mobile im sure they'll start come next year when all the prices increase.

Thanks for having the worst reps and referral programs. Got screwed out of $60 because your reps couldn't figure out the difference between Share The Love and Refer and Friend. Glad that +10 reps, over 3 months, continually told me I would receive $45 for each referral and that they should just use the Share The Love sim cards. Literally no one at your company is willing to take care of a customer for their own lack of training. Why refer anyone to a company like this? Why as a customer would I refer friends to a program that credits me $60 less and lock those customers out from being eligible for the actual Refer A Friend program. Why say anything good about your company?
While I'm sorry your experience was bad, I'd say the company could still be worth recommending for the price alone (and user interface of app/website).
But, if there are competitors out there at the same price, with better customer service, I'd definitely recommend those instead.
I did the refer a friend thing and it basically just gave me a month of service for free. There was no gift cards or anything. It was automatically added to my bill. I'd check there to see if maybe you over looked it
@@canabisquick there's multiple enrollment processes with different amounts that they pay. I had the refer a friend sim cards which are worth $30 for the referral. They told me to use them and that I would receive the $60 refer a friend credit like in the app. No one understood the difference, not 6+ different employees. They would not grant me the 60 over the 30. I explained this but they stayed unwilling to change things even if it's their fault. Their reps are known for not doing anything for the customer and they never go above and beyond. This was even for multiple refer a friend all happening at once. As well all credits for the new customers and for myself, they had to manually add these credits after the 10th interaction with them. Every single time they would open a ticket and go on and on it would be added but never would be. So much work just to get a semblance of what I was supposed to receive. Looking up refer a friend on Reddit and you'll see so many customer service problems. The main issue is credits never even showing up period, majority need to call and force them to apply the credit.
Service is fine and cheap but at this point I hate these Ryan commercials trying to paint them as this wholesome company. They are known to have incompetent call service reps plain and simple.
