The 50 ft drop is definitely a good indication of the build quality. I’m glad to see those budget brands representing!
Yeah I'm surprised most of them survived considering they are mostly rated for 1-2m drops lol
Convoy S3 show less visible damage than well-known brands proving that quality products don't have to be expensive.
Convoy switch and glass lens are also very easy to replace and spare parts are also very affordable so Convoy flashlight is definitely the best value for money in terms of durability and repairability.
I like how you got right into the testing without a lot of talking or introductory BS. Very entertaining and informative!
Glad you enjoyed the video John! Thank you for watching!
Very comprehensive and detailed evaluation method! Tested with cold and warm water which we have not tried! Thank you for providing us with a more complete method of flashlight testing, which will benefit our flashlight improvement. It's a pity that the P83 didn't pass your test, but that's to be expected since the P83 isn't suitable for such brute force tests. P83 is a daily flashlight that is more suitable for duty, and its structure with plastic connectors (red&blue modules)is not suitable for such violent tests . But it is satisfied with the 1 meters waterproof and 2 meters drop resistance that we advertise. This is guaranteed. 😃
The convoys never cease to amaze!
Yeah for the price you can't beat convoy!
Those were some pretty harsh tests. It was nice to see an Olight get through all them, since I edc a few.
haha yeah my goal was to try to push them to the limits and cause some failures! Glad to see olight held up well I was expecting them to tap out much earlier on.
Wow I really love these torture test videos on flashlights. You really get a sense of what is well made and what is not. Congrats on the growth of your channel.
I really like how you combined your own ideas with our suggestions to test this lights.
Wurkkos, wuben and convoy are surprisingly durable, especially for the price. Olight also held up really well and I did not expect that but it's probably because so many people love to hate the brand.
I also have to say that I discovered acebeam and armytek through your channel and now slowly but surely they become my favorite brands. Thanks for that.
Yeah the suggestions were very helpful! Also found a few videos of other torture tests and got some inspiration there! It was very impressive to see the budget friendly brands hold up so well! Which models from ArmyTek and Acebeam are your favorite?
@@UrbanSurvivor Armytek wizards c1 Pro and c2 Pro, taking into account all parameters, have almost no competition and prime c2 Pro is great to. Acebeam makes really great lights, every single one is really high quality, E70 mini and L17 are definitely my favourites.
This deserves more views. Thank you for this!
Great video! Enjoyed seeing which brands and lights hold up the best.
This is great! Thanks for the video my friend! Sorry I havent stopped by in a bit.
AWESOME VIDEO! Would have loved to see a Streamlight in your torture test video. I own a Streamlight HLX and once had to use it to break glass, it took a few shots of everything I got. The flashlight held together wonderfully.
Thanks so much for your support! Almost at 20k! Make sure to comment on this video, smash the like button and subscribe to the channel to enter to win the Lumintop Ant Man LEP!
Awesome crash test. Like that 15m dropping test and that fire test is also good :D I like that Armytek dealt with that so great. Thank you. 👍
This video should have more views honestly. Good job 👍🏻
this really is the real torture test no ifs and no buts! Impressive video videos like this really helps the buyer on what's really effective and durable. congrats on 20k!
Great review mate. I think there should be more like this with "real life" scenarios on how brands & models can actually hold up. Rather than review's with a few beam shots and basically a read out of the spec sheet. Nice job!
Glad you enjoyed the format of the video! Definitely going to work in more real life use cases into my videos... Definitely something that helps make the big channels successful. Thanks so much for watching Alex!
Super great video, this help in deciding the flashlight i want. I’m getting olight baton 3, thank you
Nice comparison, curious to see more standardised tests with popular flashlights.
This was a great series of tests! I'd appreciate more videos like this!
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching Adam!
Not surprised by the Armytek at all. In 2013, i rmbr discussing abt how it could withstand 10 metres of drop at least
serious tests done love it great video as always good luck to all 🎉
Hello, very good video, very helpful! Have you done a test like these in the past with a Fenix light? It would be very interesting... Thx for all!👍
you are 1 of my go to channels for flashlight reviews. congrats on the milestone and continued success
Thanks, really appreciate that!
Nice to see someone reviewing lights based on real world use and not just enthusiast metrics like tint and beam pattern. Really appreciate how unbiased you are too.
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the video Ben!
Great video man. I absolutely love my acebeams. Glad to see the p15 did well
Thanks Samuel! ACEBEAM is definitely one of my favorite brands! I'm going to try to bend the bezel back in place on my p15 lol
I'm pleasantly surprised to see how well the wurkoss did, especially being as heavy as it is. Thank you for the great video as always, the 50ft drop is a great way to see what manufacturers really go above and beyond quality wise.
Yeah Wurkkos definitely has gone above and beyond with their build quality! Definitely one of the best budget brands on the market!
Nice video and I subscribed 🦉
Nice test. Glad to see my 2 favourites performed well. Olight and Nitecore.
Yea... the biggest disappointment was thrunite. It's not like I'm a fan but I expected more...
Great Video amazing performace of diffrent brands but i was surprised to see the fenix was not a part of the test.
That hurt watching you drop lights from so high up. I'm honestly impressed any of them survived. Congrats on 20k!
Haha yeah I felt especially sorry for the 21700 lights... they hit with a lot more force behind them. Made the 18650s feel like featherweights lol. Thank you!
dang dude! 20k! congrats, im glad you never gave up
Thanks Bryan! Yeah things have picked up lately! Hoping to hit 35k by the end of next year!
You’re honestly the best flashlight reviewer. Anytime I’m looking for info on a light or new suggestions I always come here first
I appreciate that! Thank you so much!
Very interesting video, I'm surprised how many of them held up so well given their price points. Thank you!
The price is not equal to value or quality. Some cheaper products are really good, sometimes even better than expensive ones, sometimes we pay just for brand names and logos and there are also products that cost a lot but are worth every penny. That is why such tests are very useful.
Congratulations when you reach 20k subscribere!
Thanks so much for watching!
Great video. Very well done and congratulations on 20K
Thank you so much for sticking around the channel for so long 😀 You are one of my OG subs lol. Good luck on the giveaway!
@@UrbanSurvivor looking forward to what's to come
Oh God. I love me some torture tests!!!! Thanks so much man. Seriously!!!!
haha it broke my heart to destroy these lights but good to see which brands held up well and which ones didn't...
dang, I was really rooting for that Thrunite. That is a serious test on these flashlights. Thanks for the video.
Great reviews. This various tests are really interesting and they gave a proper breakdown on how reliable and durable these lights are. Kodus to the manufactures who tries provide their customers with top of the line lights in the market
Glad you enjoyed the tests! Going to perform a similar set of test on some keychain flashlights next!
I personally own an olight and was glad to see it preform so well. thank you for making excellent videos.
Yeah I was suprised that light did so well!! It was the one I was most worried about from the beginning!
nice one, would have loved to see fenix and streamlight too! hopefully convoy starts making usb-c and forward tactical switches flashlights too
Yeah I will try to include those brands next time! Thank you for watching!
Great comparison video. Very informative one. Really surprised me how budget flashlight held up against those expensive one. . 👍
Yeah the Convoy was especially impressive! Thanks for watching Jay!
Also shocking about the Wuben, I dropped my C3 from pocket height onto to concrete, maybe 3-4 feet, onto the edge of bezel, that killed it, ugh.
Excellent video, I enjoyed it very much, thanks.
Thanks for watching Ian! Yeah trying to push things a bit further with tbe video quality moving forward. Glad you enjoyed it.

love this torture test !! keep them coming with different brand plz! suprised to see nitecore failed in the end
Yeah I was surprised and a bit disappointed! It was a very nice light, wish I could have used it more before it failed lol
antman! Thanks for these videos. Keep them coming!!!
Thanks for watching and good luck Greg!
Interesting tests. Amazing how robust the lights are
Thank you! Yeah I was very impressed by how well these lights held up.
Keep up the good reviews!🙏
Thanks, will do!
Great testing 👌
Thank you!
Been watching your old vids and didn't realize you have your own store :O
Yeah just launched it a few months ago!
very informative video on which lights survived
Yeah it was interesting to see which ones held up well and which didn't! I was impressed by how well Convoy and Olight did!
My nearly brand new el cheapo Convoy T3 died this week after a 3 foot drop onto a tile floor. I haven't been able to kill a single Streamlight. You get what you pay for and sometimes you just get lucky with the cheaper brands.
Very interesting to watch the results of the tests. Never thought of using fire as one of the tests.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I saw an old nitecore torture test that used fire which inspired me. It actuallt seemed to be the most mild of the tests...
I’m a new subscriber and I’ve been watching a lot of your videos I just wanted to know can you recommend a flashlight for truckers or do a trucker flashlight setup please? I do my pre trip inspection at 4 & 5am and it’s pitch black out there.
Awesome torture test! I have a few of the armytek lights. My favorite is the ELF C1👍
Ive heard great things about the Elf! Going to feature some more ArmyTek lights in a video soon!
Great video! Would like to see a torture test for edc keychain flashlights 😁👍. Also thank you for doing an amazing giveaway! 👏
That's a great idea! Seems like people are fond of these torture tests so I'll see if I can make it happen!
Thanks for this torture test. I feel like im lucky to had a wuben D1 as my edc light. Feeling proud here hehe.
Yeah i was suprised how well they did!
i've had a nitecore mt10 failed due to a drop once too. it fell of from my moped's basket while riding at around 40mph. while there's no obvious dent or anything from outside, it never turns on again. disassembling almost everything and putting them back didn't revive it either. still, loved that one since i got it with a headband
sorry to hear you had that experience! Wonder what causes them to fail from impacts! Maybe some weak soldering in some places but not sure really... Thanks so much for watching!
This was really cool to see just how durable and tough those flashlights are!
Glad you enjoyed it! Working on a keychain flashlight torture test next!
Very interesting. It would be interesting to see if the Sofirn would have survived the 50' drop; that seems like the kind of "oops!" that could befall a flashlight, much more so than the hot water test that seems to have been what killed it.
Thank you for this very informative review and excellent giveaway.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching Kelly!
Sweet test US!
Glad the Olight held up I usually run the warrior X pro has a work light held up so far with me almost dropping it off our building😂
Oh man thats a beast work light! What do you do for a living?
@@UrbanSurvivor night security, life is basically like the movie night at the museum😂
absolutely excellent. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and good luck Dave!
Thank you for this test, i'm glad to see my new Wurkkos ts22 is performing well, except for the extreme drop but I don't plan to go night mountain climbing 😄
Yeah its a fantastic light! I wish I had more time to use it before the lens was busted lol
@@UrbanSurvivor The Wurkkos 20350 short tube fits perfectly on my Convoy S21B so it is possible that the S21B glass lens can also be used on the Wurkkos TS22.
Correct me if i am wrong but i think that in this video is the first ever >2m drop test for any armytek flashlight. Now I believe them. Thank you
Yeah the Prime C2 Pro is rated for 10m and some of their tactical lights like the Predator, Doberman and Viking are 25m! Will have to chuck those from the roof of the parking structure as well!
Those Armyteks keep catching my eye. I’ve been eyeing the larger Convoys to get a nice S&R, thrower light for under $100. Haven’t pulled the trigger on one yet though. Congrats on the 20k and thanks another GAW. LEP looks nice!
Yeah I'm suprised ArmyTek doesnt get more exposure. They make a great line of tactical lights too. One of these days I'll get around to a video on the ArmyTek lineup. Thanks for watching and good luck!
@@UrbanSurvivor that would be a video I’d like to see
surprised the Nitecore didn't make it. one of my favorites
THis is why i subbed to this channel because of this type of content
Thanks so much for watching! BTW your package with the sofirn has departed hong kong but the delivery date is showing Dec 19, 2022... Hoping it gets to you sooner! Anyways keep me posted!
@@UrbanSurvivor aight👍 thanks for the update. Is it okay if you can send me their tracking number in my email?
Wow, that is some extreme testing, I love it ! Great giveaway, count me in !!
Yeah the goal was to really push them and cause some failures which we certainly achieved! Thanks for watching Guillaume!
Really great thanks fingers crossed
Thank you for the great test, you rock!
Since these are practically metal tubes around a lithium battery and squeeze tightened electronics, with glass up front... unfortunately neither are really safe against repeated shocks. Even if they survive one 2m drop, they may malfunction or get misalighed after a few more. I guess a lot depend how they hit the ground. The proclaimed 1, 1.5m drop tests from the manufacturers are without the battery...since they don't want to risk that to get damaged and flare up.
Being potted (filled) adds an extra ruggedness though. To my knowledge only Armytek does that among these. Malkoff, Elzetta are famous for it, Weltool has like one version that has that.
I hope defense lights will move towards that direction instead of chasing lumens.
Very nice testing review, sad that didn't find ur channel earlier, but trying to watch most of ur previous amazing reviews! Dunno if I'm allowed to enter the giveaway draw, hopefully the shipping costs is reasonable to Lebanon. Anyway thanks for ur efforts...
Awesome! I'd love to see more torture tests! It's good to see the budget brands held up well (Sofirn, Wurkkos, Convoy).
I'd like to see the more common Convoy S2+ and Wurkkos FC11 tested. Also the Fenix PD35 would be another good one to compare (perhaps testing to failure of "duty lights"?).
Yea. It would be great to see how much beating Fenix can take.
My Convoy S2+ often fell on the floor (concrete from 2m hight, twice...) just little marks on tail
Yeah It would be great to include Fenix next time I'll keep that in mind!
Awesome test! Silicone is quite heat resistance, so not a big surprise. Water ingress with quick temperature changes is also quite common. But everything else is really interesting.
And thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks for watching Sven! Let me know if you have any ideas for torture tests in the future! and good luck on the giveaway!
Could you try a Weltool flashlight?
Thanks for the overview on the lights. My suggestion of placing a light in a pot with simmering nacho cheese is still worth considering.
Haha you were certainly the inspiration for the hot water test! I could see a pot of nacho cheese with flashlight dunked in getting a lot of clicks as a thumbnail lol
Are you gonna do a review on Wurkkos TS22? and MH12SE?
Probably not at this point...
Great test comparison. Which of these brands are made in USA?
Hard to find any true USA light now! Streamlight are mostly made in China and surefire is now using China components and drivers! Good luck finding a true USA made light!
Awesome torture test. What do you do with the lights that stop working or are very damaged?
Don't really have plans to fix these lights but will probably just keep the batteries as spares... Are you any good at fixing lights?
I am actually trying to dry out the thrunite and sofirn but so far have had no luck...
@@UrbanSurvivor I've fixed a couple simpler ones in the past. Just seems like a waste not to try.
Sad to see the Nitecore didn't make it. The 1st of my high end collection was a Nitecore HC-30 over 6 years ago and i still use it daily as an electrician. My most expensive light is the mateminco mt18x but wasnt as impressed with it as much as the BLF-Q8. I also have 2 fenix lights 1 fitorch and had a acebeam but gave it away.
Yeah I'm bummed about Nitecore too! The MH12SE was a great light and I wish I got to play around with it a bit more lol. Sounds like a great collection! Had a few fitorch lights myself that I picked up about 5 years ago that are holding up well still.
Nice video!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video T Frick!
I have various sofirns but not sc31 pro. Wish one of them had been selected for torture test. Sc32, sp35, sc21 pro, and sp10 pro.
I'll keep that in mind if I make another similar torture test in the future! Working on one for keychain flashlights next!
@@UrbanSurvivor right on, sir
I think olight has very high quality but it seems to no get a lot of attention and the armytek C2 pro is very nice and robust thanks made me think about what flashlight to buy next as always keep up the great videos thanks.
Where I said no I meant not
yeah its a tough call! Are you in the market for an EDC light?
Sorry for not answering
But yeah
@@raudelaorozco7073 Awesome man no worries! Do you have a preference on battery size?
nice job liked and subd.
I never expect convoy would survive this test for being the cheapest on the line up
Yeah I was really impressed by how well it held up! They deserve a ton of credit!
What’s the emitter and temperature on the Convoy S3?
That would be the 519A 3500K - I did a video comparing it to some other 18650 EDC lights here ruclips.net/video/86EdfkTJWUY/видео.html
Good video, but no Fenix?
One more thing. Can you comment on which lights had charging ports. I've always been interested in the relationship between the port cover and water ingress. Would be VERY helpful to know which lights that survived submersion tests had charging poets. Kudos to those lights that do have the and survived ingress testing!!!
Yeah!
ArmyTek Prime C2 Pro was magnetic
ACEBEAM P15 Defender was magnetic
Olight Baton 3 Pro was magnetic
Nitecore MH12SE usb-c with cover
ThruNite BSSV5 usb-c with cover
Sofirn SC31 Pro usb-c with cover
Wurkkos TS22 usb-c with cover
Nextorch P83 unscrew head usb-c
Wuben D1 usb-c with cover
Convoy S3 no charging port
@@UrbanSurvivor thanks again. I know it had to be hard to do this. I wouldn't have been able to bring myself to do it. Appreciate it!!
sir why you forgot about Fenix?
This is so cool video
Thanks so much for watching!
Before they even started i knew Olight would be working in the end. I dont know who says they are poor built quality, i have several Olights & Fenix flashlights. Used to think Fenix as superior of those two. Well, two of my Fenix lights will turn off, not everytime but most of the time, if you drop them from one meter. And im not talking about dropping them on concrete either. Its propably cause theres only one spring that holds the battery. My pd40r rotary dial got broken inside of a week from purchase, they sent me new part so everythings okay now. My Olights... well they never failed me and i would say they have been punished far more than Fenix because 80% of the time i carry them and im not meaning only edc carry but tactical also. Only problem with Olight is that i cant find a single light from them that would work also with cr123a's.
Christ I was nervous watching you put those lights in hot water.
And set them on fire !?
Just did these same tests on a bunch of keychain lights i thought the rovyvon a5 was going to explode but it didnt lol
Cool, but would have liked to see them dropped to the point of failure so we can know which ones really have the best impact durability.
Deep water test in a pool or in the ocean with divers ready to record.
haha Maybe next time I'll tie the lights to a brick and lower it down into the ocean with my action camera lol
Great test! I hipe to win the giveaway! Been looking at that light for awhile now!
Thanks for watching Nick! Yeah its a fantastic little light and definetly a best seller.
no Fenix? lol
Interesting 👍
Thanks for watching!
It's crazy how good small flashlights have become from what they were in the 1990s. Maglite who?
"This Maglight runs on 6 D-cell batteries"
*Gen Z Googling the raw power output of a 'D cell' battery*
🤓
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic I once bought a 3 d cell led maglite, but found it so bulky to use, that it just collected dust. I still use some rechargeable AAs for things, but I much prefer being able to plug my flashlights in to charge.
@@maynard4599 I EDC a single AA battery flashlight from Tractor Supply, of all places. Tail switch, with two modes: flashlight beam, and area light from the LED panel on the side of the tube. $5, and I can't find it anymore. 😕 I get free AA batteries from work, so, handy and ready energy source.
Also, an S11 flashlight on the keychain, which is amazing for $9.
Hey, pro tip: heat shrink a neodymium magnet onto the belt clip of your flashlight. Now you have a hands free way to mount the flashlight onto a car, under a hood, on to a door, ect. 👍
Sad to see Nitecore didn't survive 😢.
Yeah me too! Wish I got to play around with the light a little more before I destroyed it... seemed like a great light actually lol
Okay, I promise this is the last question. I want that armytek. How's is your return policy on your store? I've heard armytek can have a dud now and then and want an easy fix if I by chance get a dud. How is your stores policy on defects vs armyteks. I'd happily buy one from you today!!
Hey, yeah if the light doesn't work when you get it just let me know within 30 days of purchase and you can ship it back and I'll send out a replacement. So far none of my customers have had any issues! At the moment I only have the cool white version of the prime C2 in stock.
@@UrbanSurvivor you've got yourself a sale good sir. Just placed an order for the white one. I typically go for warmer colors but after looking at the pics, armyteks white isn't bad at all
