  • Greetings all! Does anyone still believe in Bigfoot? If bigfoot exists, then this film is the most compelling evidence I've seen ;)
Today I am reviewing The Legend of Boggy Creek, a 1972 docudrama-horror film by director Charles B. Pierce. This film is quite possibly the best film about the sasquatch.
I want to get back into reviewing monster movies, cult films, B movies, slashers movies, and such, after all that's what I intended to do with the channel in the first place, so let me know if you want to see more!

Saw it on tv when I was young in the 1970s. Scared the hell out me- was scared to go to the toilet when it was dark for weeks after. Will always hold a spot in my heart.

Great video! It's good to see this film in the sharp, crisp Blu-Ray format that it deserves. A cult classic that still holds up and continues to influence amateur filmmakers to this day. Recommended!

I live in the UCF area in Florida for school. UCF is where the directors of the Blair Witch Project went; they are our most famous alums. They've cited Legend of Boggy Creek as an inspiration for their movies, and I've been studying the film personally more and more, because it really does seem so easy to make. Any film student can look at this film for encouragement.

Saw this in the early 80's in the UK and loved it. It scared the life out of me. We had a small forest at the end of our garden and I had nightmares that there was a bigfoot in there!
One winter on the way home from school me and a friend froze as we saw a large black hairy figure through the trees...
Turned out it was a lady in a fur coat and hat 🤣

Saw this on CBS Saturday night midnight movie in 1978. It was a incredible movie and memorable. Since it’s release in 1972 it was a midnight movie up til 1987. Loved it and remembered it. I had the dvd in the early 90s and it was a Friday night watch. It’s a movie that inspired many others after. Call it a
    Generation X thing.
Pam was in it obtaining the rights. The most awesome docu-movie ever.

I saw Legend of Boggy Creek in the theaters when I was about 14 years old. It began a lifelong fascination with these creatures. AND THAT SCREAM from the creature at the very beginning and ending! WHAT DID THEY USE TO CREATE THAT HAUNTING SCREAM? Does anyone know how they created that iconic scream for the movie back then?
Like the roar of the Jurassic Park T-Rex was a mix of a Tiger roar, some other roar I can’t recall, and finished out with the trumpet of a baby elephant, of all things! 😂
What on earth was the sound mix used in Boggy Creek?

It sounds like they took a recording of a chimpanzee screech, slightly pitch-shifted, and slowed down by a lot.

My parents went to see this at the theater when it came out. I guess since it had a G rating it would be okay to take my little four year old butt along. That movie scared the ever-loving shit out me! I had trouble sleeping for days after. Guess my parents regretted that decision.

Really good little review great job!
Btw update on the bluray/4k there are pre-orders on the site for a 50th anniversary printing of the movie so I'm definitely gonna get it when possible to see it in non crappy early 2000's dvd quality lol

Why, at 2:13, right after the narrator says "lurks a creature that walks upright." Do we start hearing a goat braying in the background for almost ten seconds?

    • @OfficialCinematicTrash
      @OfficialCinematicTrash  Год назад

I imagine the idea was that the creature had "scared" the goat; the marketing team likely just added a bunch of sound effects to make the swamp sound more full.

Great job on the video Pierce. This was done very well. In terms of the best Bigfoot movies I say Harry and the Hendersons is the all time best Bigfoot movie. But if you’re looking for a really fucked up bigfoot movie I recommend Night of the Demon. Nothing quite like that one.

    • @OfficialCinematicTrash

Harry and the Hendersons is definitely more mainstream than the Legend of Boggy Creek and is probably the best family friendly bigfoot film. Haven't seen Night of the Demon yet :( been hoping to get my hands on the Indicator Blu-ray for it soon.
