This rig and the owner are a perfect match. The life stories of this pair together would be fascinating to listen to. Every life a book. Thanks for sharing.
alaskan campers are pretty cool, made in washington state and they are still in business today and they still make this model. these were designed for the drive between the usa and alaska, at that time in the early 50's the alcan highway was a very long unpaved dirt and sometimes gravel road with minimal services and no hotels or motels along the way and it typically required a 4-wheel drive truck but conventional campers on a 4-wheel drive truck are top-heavy and unstable, so they designed this camper with a telescoping top to lower the center of gravity when traveling, insulated walls to stay warm in cold country.
My x and I had an old Chevy truck....can't remember the year, but it had an older full size camper that sat on the chassis. That thing was very clean...had sleeping for 4 and a bathroom...nice size stove, refrigerator. Wish I still had it!!!! This camper brings back the memories!

Awesome truck and camper. Tell that fella thanks for sharing that. Love to see these old classics being refurbed and taken care of. Safe travels to you.
This guy seemed like he was very proud of his rig! Haha. It was a pretty neat setup, nothing too fancy but functional! Thanks for the video brother! 🤙🏼
One tough truck and one tough man. Old man Davis knew how to build a rig. John Steinbeck drove America in a camper truck-- TRAVELS WITH CHARLEY. FORTY YEARS FROM NOW, YOU'LL TELL THE KID INTERVIEWING YOU: " I could put my finger through my truck. Ya'll got it easy today."
What a great set up!! He's very proud of it and he should be. All the hard work he put into that is so worth it. I love all the windows. Lol... comment regarding the "old ladies" having to go to the bathroom.....yep they do!
You got a window back there too? Oh hell yeah!

That's where I got my love for camper camping. In the 60s Dad had a Ford truck and camper. Great memories of National Forest and the Pacific Ocean.
What utility bed is that? I’d love to have one for my old K30.
