      Woke up this morning even more gutted than I felt last night because the shock is gone now. Like you say though, Campbell is as transparent as any coach I've seen and he's changed the culture of a totally moribund franchise. Last night absolutely sucked, but we don't even get there without him. It was a great season and it's more than I've ever had to cheer for in my entire life as a Lions fan.

      @@eaglesdude25 Dan Campbell does not blindly "trust" analysts as you state. He trusts his guys to make the plays, Listen to his comments, it's a "game at a time" thats it, stats mean nothing to him, he trusts his guys to make the play. In the second half, the guys did not make the plays plus the turn over was detrimental, plane and simple. 49ers did not win the game, the Lions handed it to them to no fault of the coaches. Dan Campbell won all season long by "Adapting to the situation at hand. You can argue all day long, hind-sight is 20/20. You have your opinion and I have mine but you're wrong on this one. From a Dallas fan. Detroit played great, and I was rooting for them the whole way. Dan is a great coach, but don't let your team down and kick the field goal in 3Q to go up by 3 possessions and CURB the momentum. No excuses, man. You are the underdog and the road team. Go Lions.

    • @jamesbroomfield7799
      @jamesbroomfield7799 10 месяцев назад +4

      I agree 1000 percent and honestly, I think Dan Campbell's ego got in the way here. Because if he was thinking about the team and thinking about the fans he would have kicked that field goal. Because that field goal isn't just a regular 3-point field goal, it puts the team back up by three possessions and it would have deflated the hopes of the 49ers cuz they would have been right back at square one with only 7 minutes left in the third quarter. By the time the 49ers would have got the kickoff and went back down the field of score again it would have already been going into the fourth quarter by then. I think Dan was picturing himself on the front page news and on all the media platforms the next day praising how great he was for ice and the game and going forward on 4th down and blah blah blah I think he was thinking of himself because there's no excuse for that. You can gamble when you need to or if the game isn't really meaningful but we're talking about the whole Super Bowl was basically on the line here and he just gambled when he didn't even need to like I just I'm still wondering why he would do something like that and the only thing I can come up with is it's his ego he wanted to look like the great coach of the year and and look like the hero by going forward on 4th down and icing the game basically but at that point you just have to play smart football with so much at stake

      Thank man! Us Lions fans are beyond lucky to have Dan Campbell as HC. This really hurts, I barely slept last night, but Dan is our HC and for that I’m thankful.

    Too much gambling today.. Should've went for field goals instead of trying to go for it on 4th down imo especially with the ticket to the super bowl on the line...

      Shoulda coulda woulda. These gambles are part of the team's identity and a big reason they got as far as they did. Sucks it works out all year until such a huge moment

      @@1andrew123what do you mean works out all year? They blew the cowboys game like 2 games before that the same way (not kicking the field goal) that should have been a sign not to play silly games like that when all stakes are on the line. He got them that far yeah yeah but he put them back in the same hole they’ve been in trying to “go for broke” when this isn’t a game you play with your heart. You play with your head especially a coach who is writing checks only the players can cash don’t write them a fraud check.

    I’m a Pats fan. What you did was incredible. You guys got pretty much the entire country to root for you, The Lions. Do you know how crazy that is!? You and your fan base should be disappointed for sure but you should also be incredibly proud of what you accomplished. You were playing with house money and almost made it to the Super Bowl. Keep that fire and you’ll make it back.

    I am a Loyal Lion’s fan, as a season ticket holder, I’ve stood by this team good or bad for 30 years! Thank you to Dan Campbell, all the excellent players and the Lions organization, for the BEST SEASON in my life time!! I believe it’s just the beginning, this is the New Detroit Lions, we’ll be back stronger next season.

    There’s being aggressive then there’s playing smart. The fact that you didn’t take the 3 to go up 3 possessions is pitiful. Worst part is you did it again. And you lost by 3. Winnable game but Campbell’s arrogance got to him. I like the Lions but I can see this coming back to haunt him in the future
