- If you’re looking for an original gift or a Christmas decoration, just go to a recycling point and get a few light bulbs :)
In this video I show you 3 awesome Christmas decorations that are made from light bulbs.
You’ll need to hollow out the bulb or at least make a hole in it to let the air out.
I used a nichrome wire to cut a bulb in half.
Nichrome wire has a high resistance. If connect it to positive and negative terminals of a battery, it will heat up.
It also depends on the wire you use as well as the battery.
I used 32 gauge nichrome wire and a 20v battery.
The wire will get extremely hot, so be careful not burn yourself.
We made a glass ball ornament, candle shade and a snow globe.

I like the snow globe a lot
Hello, do you think this method could be useful to cut little cristal medicine ampoules (the ones you have to break to take the medicine with a syringe)? Or is there some easier way to do it since the glass is so thin? I have in mind some miniatures i would like to try with cristal ampoules. Thanks, hope you can respond. Loved your ideas ❤🥰!

Awesome. What could you create with those long fluorescent bulbs?
I have never tried to make something from those bulbs, but I might give it a shot.
Thanks for the idea!

Last one
Very nice! I'm thinking about making one or two for my girlfriend. What's the chemical you used in the second one, and what exactly is the mix in the third one?
There are links in the description.
It's armour etch cream.
I actually bought a cheap rubber snow globe for 2$ and I took it apart to get the snow and liquid.
It was cheaper that way.
If you want to make your own water+glycerin mixture then you only need a dash of glycerin.
Something like 95% water 5% glycerin or 90/10.
It's best to mix it in a cup. Add a little bit of glycerin until you're happy with the result.
Cheers!
where did you get fake snow? I love your videos, tnx
I went for the cheapest option.
Instead of spending money on glycerin and snow, I bough a cheap rubber snow globe and took it apart.
The snow is made from plastic.
You can make your own snow with thermoplastic (like Instamorph).
Melt some plastic together and use a utility knife to make snow shavings.
The shavings can't be too thin or they'll float on the water.
A lot of people use glitter, but I like the plastic snow better.
Cheers!
Snow globe
Everyone here, please PLEASE wear gloves when doing this! I can not stress how important that is! Glass may seem not sharp or you feel like you have it. Let me tell you, I thought so too until I destroyed my hand.
Yes, wearing gloves is always a good idea.
I have done it many times, so I don't wear the gloves all the time as I rarely cut myself.
Thanks!
My mom would love this comment! I agree
Colebug99 yes glass is unexpectedly sharp af
My mom paints them like snow men and ties a string to them. Lame but makes really nice ornaments.
I am sure they look awesome!
Luckily you didn't short out your battery when you let go the leads.
I like how you cut the glass though.
Yes, it's something you want to avoid :)
CONGRATS FOR THE 100 000 SUBS!!!
Awesome but dangerous
All ok, but Olaf was the best 👌
Thanks!
ياريت يكون فيه ترجمه باللغه العربيه شكرا
when did MacGyver get a channel ?
If you ever did the snowglobe again, how might you combat the air bubble?
I would use ceramic figurine or make my own from clay.
The figurine I used was made from soft, rubber-ish material.
I believe there was some air in the figurine.
