I bought the same model two weeks ago. Really working nice. I don't have a pre-recorded MD - they have become awfully expensive (especially Floyd albums) these days - but tried synching CDs over the optical connection and today, I recorded my favorite radio show today because I have to wait for a week for its podcast recording. I don't have USB recorder yet :))
Nice set up I Have all Sony stuff my MD is MDS JE510 sound great I had a MDS JE520 back in the 90's sold it missed it so have the 510 great audio equipment 🔉👍👍
Very nice setup, please let me know if you found a turn table which fits there. I loved MD, I still remember first time when I saw it, my brother was living in Japan, then sent me a couple of MD's and a player...great times ;) Thanks for sharing
Just a few tips on using minidisc. 1. Don't put the discs the wrong way into the shell like the white one with pink floyd cause that could damage the shell and the disc won't hold inside anymore and constantly slip out. 2. When recording a minidisc from an analog source set the correct rec level first just like you would to with a cassette so that you don't record too loud and have clipping. You can show the vu meter by pushing the display button.

You can't plug it into phono! phono is the only input that has different electrical specifications
I wonder if the minidisc deck can also record long play? I have the same model

I did find one, but something sadly fell on and ruined it.
My power button is red but won't turn on. So I took it out and press the switch with an item then it turns on. Why is that?
I started my deck with a MD deck. I think the thought of the scarcity of some of the good ones got to me.
It's beautiful. Did the pre recorded disc turn up. The optical input looks like it's still ok
You should record your tapes on MD with Dolby NR
