What a performance, what a line- up!!! Joe Zawinul always get the best out of musicians. Another incredible performance by Paco Sery on the drums, waow!!! Music as it should be played and enjoyed!!!
This is quite a nice performance! And shut up about the blonde! She's feeling the music. I'm certain Joe and Co. didn't mind her at all. On the contrary, I bet they appreciated her. More people should dance to this music!
Flashes of the Blonde at the '56 Newport Jazz Festival who started dancing during Duke Ellington's "Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue" and the legendary story:
"The normally sedate crowd was on their feet dancing in the aisles, *reputedly provoked by a striking platinum blonde woman in a black evening dress Elaine Anderson getting up and dancing enthusiastically* . When the solo ended after 27 choruses, Gonsalves collapsed in exhaustion. Ellington himself took over for two choruses of piano solo before the full band returned for the "Crescendo in Blue" portion, finishing with a rousing finale featuring high-note trumpeter Cat Anderson."
I've heard from eye witnesses this woman was absolutely stunning - a Goddess, and dancing like no one was watching! Musta been a beautiful sight.
