All things considered, they had a rough start to the SS line. Many were not very accurate and built ok, same when they started bringing out the Bumblebee series figures. Glad they've really improved though cause I love the SS line.
That Shatter figure is the worst for me. Those pegs on her chest are one of the worst design flaws I've ever come across. During transformation, I was unable to detach the car fender pieces from the peg, and it snapped clean off. Had to get the buzzworthy reissue as a replacement and now the original remains in vehicle mode forever.

My Shatter had a glued head that was incapable of rotation, making the transformation impossible. I had no choice but to get another one and leave that one as a broken wreckage.
@@orhandalegend bruh the jet version is ALOT more articulated in comparison to the car version. Only issue the jet version has is the fact that it had kibble on it's back but other than that it's far more movie accurate and doesn't have parts flying off whenever you try to make the slightest move with it. Between both figures literally most fans would pick the jet version for both entertainment purposes and for movie accuracy
Stinger doesn't deserve to be on this list at all
Yeah, I don’t get it either. I’m not the biggest fan of the Bayverse designs, but Stinger’s SS figure is a pretty accurate and a decent and involved deluxe figure. Compare the SS figure with an image of Stinger from the movie and it’s the closest figure that resembles it.
Tbh I think the same for the satellite soundwave too. I physically sighed and shook my head when I saw him

Something that pisses me off even more with this VWbee is the fact that the power charge bumblebee that was made before this SS version had a much better leg kibble management, using that design philosophy here and making for more room on the spine so the hood stays more flush would make the robot work much better, it would still be inaccurate, but at least the pieces would flow together on a nicer way. His headsculpt kicks ass though, I'd buy the figure only for that Head

I know! I wanted to love this figure SO badly. I mean...the robot mode, I can let it pass since it was designed before the final version of Bumblebee was released (even if the door wings are slightly large and unwieldy), and it came with some cool accessories and a interchangeable battle mask.
But the vehicle mode...ohhhhh GOD the vehicle mode. It's so fiddly and doing it does not make me feel good doing it. And it just feels like a hand grenade. One touch and BAM, a panel is out of place and you have to smash it together to even keep it in vehicle mode.

I mostly agree but car shatter would be middle of the list, helicopter dropkick would be pretty high because it’s not that bad, and scrap metal wouldn’t be on the list
Yeah. Helicopter drop kick isn’t really that bad of a toy aside from just being inaccurate and scrapmetal is one of the best studio series; sure he does look very slightly g1 but he’s still just as alien looking as long haul or scrapper. Yeah a bucket head would’ve been cool but scrapmetals far from bad.
I think lockdown is a good size, if you pause moments with lockdown vs Optimus, you can see he is clearly a decent amount shorter. They look similar heights because Optimus's fighting stance is alot lower when he's fighting lockdown. The studio series lockdown is also the same height as the studio series ratchet which I think is a good size, 20ft tall Lamborghini is still solid
The only good thing of the satellite Soundwave is the face, it not only is very accurate to the movie, but it looks way better than the DotM face, that was only Barricade 2.0. From that on, the figure is just awful.

except that Bumblebee was made out of the concept art, so it's accurate before the designs changed.
The fact that Hot Rod has a perfect lambo mode makes Lockdown look like a clown
Being entirely honest here, I think Scrapmetal is an honorable mention at best for this list. I understand your complaints, but compared to the other entries on this list, the flaws are definitely more passable considering Scrapmetal doesn't have a role in the film beyond being combined with his team (a function and playable feature he is perfectly suitable for). And considering that we have to compare Studio Series Devastator to a very simplified (but electronic) RotF version that had fewer Constructicons and had no individual robot modes to speak of.
Instead I would recommend adding SS86 Arcee in the lineup. Though technically accurate in appearance, she is just a shell transformer with very large back kibble and a very finicky transformation.
Honestly I think you're trying real hard to hate on some of these figures, especially calling some "trash" and "garbage" and stuff like that. While some figures are definitely weaker than others for various reasons, I don't think Studio Series has had a genuinely bad figure. Even the weaker ones have their positives

PvP uses a lot of superlative adjectives in all his videos. Still good videos but I wish he would come up with some more nuanced ways of talking about figures other than “absolute best representation to date” or “trash”.
@@jonathannash3519 agreed, the use of cuss words, even if they are bleeped, is forced as well. Like someone just discovering the words and using them a lot, it just comes off as forced.
I agree with the list for the most part, but I actually like Scrapmetal the Constructicon 8:03. He may look scrawny, and that plate has nowhere to go in robot mode, but he looks good with the rest of the team.
I think SS86 Arcee should have been on the list instead of Scrapmetal.

Personally bumblebee volskwagen ain’t that bad for me, it’s a cool figure for a decent price point and I have a personal appreciation for it also something like soundwave satellite is probably worst as he doesn’t look good in either mode

I believe the WWII Bumblebee inaccurate car mode can be forgiven because I don’t think Hasbro would want a Nazi staff car alt mode.
I actually really like the ROTF Soundwave. I think the robot mode is very decent, and the fact that he includes a flight stand is just beautiful.
Let’s be honest, studio series figures wanting to be “in scale” with the movies is making really small figures. I miss rotf and hunt for the decepticons

I actually really liked the Stinger.
The only one I can disagree with on this list is scrap metal. That's a fun little figure and surprisingly dynamic in both modes for being one of the most minor live-action characters to ever get a figure. Other than that this list is pretty accurate to which are the worst.
Im actually very surprised SS05 Optimus Prime didn't make in this list

I was with you..but you lost me at scrapmetal. Stinger is SICK, I love the TFmation, who cares if dropkick was accurate, It is a near PERFECT cobra mode. Ill take the bot mode. its just fun. WWII Bee is good because we want more of off the wall stuff like that. Agree about SHatter falling apart, but would have been killer if didnt fall apart. VW bee is pretty neat for what they did with the parts.
It was about time to see a video where you really get to talk about quality issues and terrible descissions made by Hasbro, you are now part of my selected sources to review TF figures...Very good video... We want another of the other TF lines out there....
Super happy to see BB at the top of the list, as well as WWII BB making the cut, as those are my 2 least favorite studio series, along with car mode Shatter( who I returned twice due to being defective both times and never bought again). But Scrap Metal being on this list at all is bonkers. The deluxe movie figures in the studio series usually suffer the most due to having to be both small and incredibly detailed, so Scrap Metal was such a breath of fresh air. Decent bot mode, decent vehicle mode, and a fairly fun transformation.
I one hundred percent disagree with rotf So Soundwave I just have so much fun fiddling with him and is just over hated + the alt mode is not that bad and the colors are plain but that's how the design was
The biggest slap to the face with this list was the VW Bumblebee... but I happen to own the special GOLD version of the mold. Not that this list is terrible. Just that I own the #1 worst figure, but with a more expensive coating!

@@shrakner The arm blade on my copy kinda broke. The middle didn't split apart, but it loosened up and made the piece practically unusable anyhow.
I gotta say, in terms of robot mode (which is all that really matter for it) Shockwave is the best Studio Series ever. It’s just so clean and compact. It looks super accurate, despite the purple, that was more for G1 relevance

They probably are awful figures but I see a good cuz wee are getting new version of the masterpiece figures so they might fixed this studio Series figures and make them better
I would say the absolute worst SS figures so far I have had is ROTF Soundwave because of his knight robot mode. I didn’t mind Lockdown but I didn’t like that he was missing the gun face gimmick.
The first 3 figures come out in the studio series with concept arts and not with the final production that we saw in the movie. This is why this 3 are almost innacurate design in robot modes
You have to take in consideration a few things:
1# None of the Bay designs after DOTM are toy-friendly. Toy engineering is not at the point we can compress an Lamborghini into an humanoid figure.
2# Because the financing of the movies relies mostly in propaganda for the car makers Hasbro HAS to make the vehicles look better. The new BBB rely none on licensing or existing vehicles, they are ALL alien stuff so all kibble is excusable.
3# Most of the list are $20-25 Deluxes, mass retail toys that need to be easy to transform for children. Remember parent complaints aftet DOTM? Yeah... remember also Dropkick is a triple changer and the budged for cool gimmicky leader-class figures is dead back in 2009-2011 with the popularity of the movies. If lack of articulation and backpack is a complaint, then bring your beloved Sentinel-Prime to the list (you call that thing a cape?!).
I'm sure you running out of content for views to the point you are unpacking your precious garage treasures for unboxing and review but if you're going to make a rant video, point your complaints better.
You can trash VW, WWII bee and Shatter with everything you have because they deserve. But Stinger and Lockdown imo don't deserve to be here. Dropkick surely is innacurate, but it's a fun toy. Please don't put accuracy on top of everything.
Toy engineering actually is at that point where you can make a great lockdown figure. Just look at third parties making AOE prime perfectly accurate with no backpack at all. It’d be more accurate to just say you can’t put that kind of engineering into a 20 dollar deluxe, it’s just not happening

I disagree with #1. I mean, he is adorable first of all, he is concept art, and he is one of the first figures in the SS line. Besides, who can resist that face?

My biggest gripe with the SS satellite Soundwave was the size. He should had been a Voyage class size.

The only thing I disagree with on this list is scrapmetal, as I quite like messing around with, him and I'd exchange him for longhaul because my copy needs to be mistransformed to slot into overload.
Hasbro really shouldn't be making Studio Series figures of characters before their designs have been finalised. That's just asking for horrible inaccuracies. Sell us the standard release when the movie comes out then wait a year or so to drop the Studio Series. The helicopter Dropkick doesn't look like a terrible figure on its own. It just doesn't look like the character at all.

Personally, I'd say that the Shatter figure is the worst Studio Series figures. As you stated, they pieces keep coming off and I actually broke a piece of her plastic that connects her backpack with the back of her neck.

I removed that Studio Series Lockdown from my Decepticons because of the clunky design and I used him as an illusion for Sprite in my Eternals display. For Sprite!
Also the fact that he's not a decepticon
I hope we get a movie masterpiece for Stinger,because the Studio series is just bad,they could’ve made him sooo much better. The fact that it’s in “Studio series “blows my mind because it’s very in accurate.
They didn't even THINK about making a toy of him back then, so as a deluxe I think he is good enough. Plus he is too minor to get a MP figure (also I don't think recent MP toys are good enough either

Why do people hate Stinger so such???!!!! The only complaint I have is that his ball joints are loose on the arms, but that's it
I literally cheered when I saw volks bumblebee in first place bcuz I absolutely hate how innacurate it is and how lazy the design is
My Scrapmetal’s arms were very very loose, so my devestator now has a giant claw on his left side instead of the original designed arm. My scavenger also had some bad luck and I had to glue the secondary pivot points to keep them from falling off
One of the hinges under the window of the vehicle mode for shatter broke off. The redemption I would like to see if they made heavy retool off the mold and transform it to a different non off road car
I actually really like the cliffjumper and bumblebee cybertronian mold, since you can make a really simple modification to the legs
Satelight Soundwave never transformed in the movie, so it was mostly guess work, by Hasbro from the looks of things, in regards to AOE figures, that when the Transformers in the movies started to loose their idenity, example, Galvatron, he didn't really transform, he just broke apart and rebuilt himself as a robot, completely skipping the actual transforming side of things and by that point, I would say that the Bayverse films were just becoming bloated and kind of daft, I honestly believe Bay's talents lie more in action sequences than anything else, character development is clearly not his strong suit!
I know how primevsprime feels about trying to transform deluxe class beetle bumblebee since my copy won't tab into place

I agree with most of this but Stinger?! That figure was amazing to me. The car mode was a MAJOR upgrade from the original figure, the robot mode is accurate, and he is highly articulated. I can understand the issues with the ninja star things on his back but otherwise i feel like he is a solid figure.
Scrapmetal was my first construction because I kept seeing him, and I don't mind him, he serves his purpose and he looks cool
Love the video, I actually think that the BmB KO of the VW Bug Bumblebee is pretty cool, it makes for a fun action figure.

fine list but I don't understand Stinger, the way the whole car conceals into the torso is genius, the legs manage the kibble very well, and the arm canon while not 1to 1 to the movie manages to actually be part of the transformation. considering pretty much all ss cars have half of the car on their back, this one is pretty unique and well designed
Yeah not too much kibble on the robot mode. Minus the legs but still. But it is his opinion.

Bw Bumble bee is on my list because I try and try to transfom it but it was to hard and why not put lockdown like 86 hot rod size and voyger and give him his weapons that he should have gotten

One reason I never got stinger from the ss line because I already got the ksi sentry Figure which is just a blue version of stinger. As soon I transformed him for the first time. His entire roof snapped. The clear plastic snapped and broke. As soon as that happened, i was devastated. I tried fixing it, but that was out of the question since it was difficult to. Due to it made of clear plastic. Never will get Studio series stinger.
I often think SS Lockdown is not a bad figure, he's better then his Age of Extinction Deluxe figure, but I feel like he should have included his face cannon. He should be more in scale with Optimus Prime

With the Stinger mold, I'm gonna say it, despite his flaws, at least he has the correct car mode, rather than be a Chevy as that would make him a 100 percent Bumblebee clone in red.

My top 10 Worst SS Figures
10. Jolt
I like this figure, I like his car mode, but his thumb-things are just… Bad. Plus, he doesn’t have very good articulation.
9. Cogman
He’s kinda bland, his transformation is iffy, and he has very poor articulation.
8. Roadbuster
As much as I love the wreckers, his figure is sub-par. Boring weapon, very little pose-ability.
7. Leadfoot
Same as Roadbuster, but at least he came with weapons.
6. Stinger/KSI Sentry
I love the vehicle mode, but the robot mode just looks… Wrong. Plus, the articulation isn’t very good, especially in the legs.
5. Elita-1/Arcee/Chromia
They’re hard to transform, the pieces don’t always stay on, and getting them to stand up is a nightmare.
4. WW2 Bumblee/Hot Rod
Their articulation is terrible, the vehicle mode is boring, they’re very bland coloring, the backpack and feet are terrible. I like Bumblebee’s hammer though
3. TLK Bumblebee
This figure is annoying to transform, looks like shit, and even his cannon is on the wrong side. He’s just a repack of an older figure
2. High Octane Bumblebee
Similar to TLK Bee, but worse; he looks like a stick with a huge chest. His weapon is pitiful.
1. Carmode Shatter
This figure is dogshit. It has terrible pose-ability, it looks like shit, it falls apart in my hands. If I wasn’t trying to collect all of them I would crush it with a hammer
At least some of them weren't as bad as the 2007 voyager class Optimus Prime. That backpack... my god... THAT BACKPACK 😩😩😩 that weighed him down so much lmao.
Can't say much about the bumblebee figure as even though I transformed it only once , I kept it in robot mode. I personally like the mode.
Also I agree about how disappointing it was for Lockdown not to have the head cannon. I lost that opportunity to grab one. I had the previous version and I sold it as I realized how inaccurate it was.
Who knows maybe they'll give us a more of an improved 3rd version. 🤔
Ss04 ratchet is also a horrible looking figure. It lacks so much paint job, especially on his face. His face is just a chunk of neon green plastic, which makes the figure very cheap-looking. And so many decals which represent ratchet's vehicle mode are missing. Therefore I can't find any effort put in this figure. Even the premium finish ratchet doesn't show any kind of 'premium' looking paint apps. I'm just so disappointed.
With Lockdown either you get an accurately sized car or an accurately sized bot… i think we’d all prefer the bot. He was the main villain, he deserves a much better figure than we ever got.

I actually really like helicopter Dropkick, doesn't look anything like he did in the movie but on his own merits I think he's really cool
I had that WWII Hot Shot and can confirm he was a pile of garbage. I had him less than a day and actually took him back to the store to get a refund. The entire figure felt just fragile as if he’d break at any moment.
That “Crankcase” got me thinking: “What the HELL were they thinking?!” At LEAST remold the head
I remember having my dropkick figures legs being so loose that I had to lean him against the wall. I also have scrapmetal though I don't have the box anymore.

yeah in Slovakia 33 euros for deluxe, 50 for voyager, over 70 for leader, and I 'm not speaking how hard it is to find those toys, cause everyone in world put us to east side of Europe, because we were under Russia. It wasn't our fault and we never wanted to be under Russia. but we were same as Czech republic, and that's how quality we have in shops. Quality of toys, or clothes, or cars, or food. what is from west side of world in our country is only the trash part from those products which in west coutries people would throw out. Just because we are small country and were under ZSSR not by our fault.

Personally I don't think Dropkick is that bad. While yes the arm kibble is bad and he's SUPER inaccurate if you look past that he's a decent figure
I agree. Bumblebee was a pain to transform. Once I got it in vehicle mode, I left it in vehicle mode. That's how it's displayed
Man I wish we had these back in the day. I would of love to make my own wars with the military style vehicles.
the lockdown mold does have a waist joint,i have the shadow raider version to attest to this, yours might just be stuck

I don't even buy Studio Series figures anymore. They all have good detail, but they all have at least one of these things: Heaps of kibble, Terrible Plastic quality, Ugly paint.
