I have had my Litter Robot for a little over one year. I had two older, very large cats. I followed the Litter Robot directions and was able to transition both cats over to it. It did take a few weeks, but they had mentioned this in the instructions so it was expected. Overall, I love the Litter Robot. I will share some of my personal experiences. I use Tidy Cat Clumping Cat Litter. I personally prefer the odorless one as I am sensitive to perfume smells. I then use the Arm and Hammer Deodorizer as well. I also use regular 13 gal pull string trash bags with this. I simply roll down the sides and put it in place. Then It is easy to roll it back up and pull the drawstrings and throw it away when changing it out. With my two cats, I had to change it out twice a week. We then adopted two kittens this summer and it is now a daily task. I do not clean out the inside as is recommended unless there is a mechanical problem. That only happened once this year. I gave up on using the Wi-Fi feature because it was a pain to set up and it has to be redone every time the Litter Robot is powered down. The most frequent problem I have had is that sometimes it gets overly full and stops cycling. I learned that I had to turn off the power while changing out the disposal bag so that it doesn’t try to cycle while the drawer is open. Sometimes after I power it back up, it still says it needs to be emptied and won’t work. When that happens, I turn it off and hold the reset button down while turning it back on. A couple of times that didn’t do the trick but a good shake of the whole litter box while powered down and the resetting again did it. You also have to make sure you keep the litter level topped off, but not too much, or it will stop working. The biggest negative was when I got two kittens this summer. They took to it right away, but they are not heavy enough to trigger the sensors. The waste will sit there until one of the older cats comes along and triggers it. There is also a button to push to make it cycle. The only reason this was an issue is because we have a lot more odor with it now. We do still get scatter as well. We have a couple of litter collecting mats in front of it, which helps.
