Bourne movies basically make a mockery of anything Tom Cruise does in Mission Impossible. If Tom is running, we want Matt walking, if Tom is giving a detailed description of how to infiltrate a high level security building, we want Marie to walk in and just mention she was his personal assistant after Jason gives said dialog.
A lot of people won't appreciate what a masterpiece of editing this scene is. It's so chaotic, and it was shot with rapid handheld shaky cam, yet you always know exactly what's going on. It rightfully won the Oscar for Best Editing.
I understand the shaky cam for some of the shots when you follow Bourne. But they used it throughout, even when showing the headquarters. It's stupid, unnecessary and makes you sick after a while. The first three movies were great and almost perfect but the overuse of shaky cam is the one big issue with them.
the most amazing thing about this clip ..is that the sniper got a fucking parking space in london...right where he wanted to be....this is pure sci fi at its best !!
No, my man, that's just proof of how powerful this organisation was. When Bourne tells the reporter "You have no idea what you are up against"? Well, if he'd seen this bit of parking he'd have realized what he was up against, instantly. Then he'd have done exactly as he was told and maybe made it out alive....
Reminds me of the time I was chased by some bullies in a shopping centre. I ended up taking them down with the crane kick and a bit of mind control ESP-type stuff. When the security spotted me they said, “Jesus Christ, that guy’s about 25 and those kids he beat up are not even 10!” People still talk about it to this day, well, the people in my cell block do.
This guy was really so built different he was able to observe the hitmen, the reporter, himself, the entire crowd, and the cameras all without being seen by them. While formulating a route of escape that dodges all of the obstacles as hes walking and talking. Then clutches a 1v4. Dudes a beast
One thing my dad and I loved is that Matt Damon is short compared to the guys he fights. We are both 5’10” like him and always thought it was so cool how he just destroys guys well over 6ft.
@@Lawrence_Talbot All you have to do is be quicker and more agile and you can defeat any enemy. He moves fast so more than anything that confuses his opponent because they cannot react fast enough to anticipate his next move. Game over.

What makes this scene particularly more intense is that Bourne is trying to hide and at the same time, helping another one to hide. Watching people, cameras, in a crowded station is nuts. In other movies, you have one static person or both moving independently. It's crazy.
Hiding from the camera's would be pretty hard i imagine just because of how many of them there are and how most of them are tucked away in very unnoticeable areas
I agree, the bourne movies are well known, but not quite as popular as mission impossible and bond. The main thing that made the bourne movies so good is that he has no help, he is not part of some noble greater cause, and the movies were all somewhat believable-no crazy sci fi tech. Also the fight scenes were extremely well executed in these movies, they don't involve crazy flips and fast punching scenes, they actually look real.
I don't think you know what "understated" means. These movies had a lot of hype behind them and theatres were sold out each time. They are good movies, but definitely not "underrated".
It's kinda cool that they genuinely do cross Waterloo station from one end to the other, with pretty much perfect continuity and geographical accuracy, and in about the time it really takes. The layout is a bit different now, but the bridge to the concourse is still there at one end, and the off-license at the other. A lot of films and TV shows go the easy route and jump backwards and forwards between locations as needed (I saw a lot of this recently in the London scenes in Moon Knight), but in Bourne they made the effort to keep it accurate.
That final scene as the title of this video suggest still gives me goosebumbs. Ultimatum has to the best of the three. A worthwhile seal for a trilogy.

They weren't looking for Bourne. They didn't know he was there, and they were focused on finding the reporter. They stop thinking about any face they see once they recognize that it's not their target.
Reporter: "Oh God, the bin man, I think he's one of them" Bourne: "Who, the garbage man? Negative" Now I know why they ask to choose UK or US English as input language.
garbage man in that context isn't even american english. A 'garbage man' in the U.S. is a person who rides on the back of a garbage truck and empties residential trash cans, anyone else would have called the 'bin man' a 'janitor', possibly a 'custodian' if they were high class.
@@maxdecphoenix Just what I was thinking as I read it. Of course, being American in a foreign country, I've come up with my own translations on some things. Bourne was American, but spent most his agency life in the European theater. Might just be a mental translation from bin man.

High tech weapons are Hollywood fiction, not used in the real world of covert intel field agents. In fact, during the height of the Cold War years between the USSR/USA, the majority of KGB field agents were late 20's to early 30's pretty women used in "Honey-traps" mostly, while the CIA field agents were based on being invisible to the KGB's mindset of what to look, which wasn't the everyday ordinary-looking middle-aged women in their 40's early 50's with a feeble look to the KGB and GDR's Stasi that they would never consider relevant even to the present day always looking for the prevalence of strength! I do love the international-spy-thriller books, movies, and old TV shows: JB 007, J.Bourne, M.I. movies & the old TV show, Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Saint, and of course the laughing to "Get Smart" never gets old!

Well, not really a spy. Government operative (nice word for assassin). Definitely one of the best Gov Op action flicks. For actual spy movie, nothing comes close to Alec Guiness as George Smiley, in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and the follow-up, Smiley's People. Old now, but above all others. Not much "action" but brimming with intrigue and suspense throughout.
I love how Black Brier version of Bourne gets him with his pants down at the car bomb scene, it was awesome that the writers felt no fear showing another agent could play Bourne and at the same time show that CIA doesn´t play cheap and the taxpayer money is well used.
Everything about this movie was fantastic. Matt Damon just outdid himself in this role. The first 3 movies in this franchise were top class, but the other 2 absolute bollocks.
Exactly what I was thinking! I think even the new James Bond movies took a lot of inspirations from the gritty hand-to-hand combat styles that you see in the Bourne Movies.
On the other hand, you can thank this franchise for the ridiculous amount of quick cut and shaky cam fights these days. I mean, these guys made it work but everyone trying to imitate them can't.
This is a textbook example of "Author's omnipotence". By spending a lot of time thinking out what happens in a compressed amount of time in the scene, and inserting cause and effect to fit the goals of the character, the Author presents genius while not having the same level of genius as the character. You can see this too in well-prepared speeches and business or tech presentations; Preparation is the mother of success.
Well it’s marvel property they only specialize in Micheal Bay type explosions, actions scenes with 1,000 cuts and corny banter that is suppose to pass for comedy.
@@boredflower True, but there is a sweet spot between going all-out Michael Bay and being a bit more grounded. For example, the original Iron Man movie. Or the first half of Winter Soldier (it gets quite fantastical towards the end but it captures the 70s spy flick vibe in the earlier sections).
The suspense delivered in this movie is beyond expectations..

"Jason Bourne, that's Jesus Christ"
This scene is a one of the best in the franchise; I know how busy Waterloo station is.
Of all the spy movies, Bourne is the best
Definitely the most intense
Bourne and Mission Impossible
And first jack reacher
I think salt is a good one too...even eagle eye
Well, not really a spy. Government operative (nice word for assassin). Definitely one of the best Gov Op action flicks. For actual spy movie, nothing comes close to Alec Guiness as George Smiley, in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and the follow-up, Smiley's People. Old now, but above all others. Not much "action" but brimming with intrigue and suspense throughout.
Lol everybody shouted and clapped at 4:32. One of my best movie theater experiences ever.
this 5 minute clip makes me want to watch the entire series again
Wow, I watched the whole scene just for that line. I forgot I came here just for the line. Thought I was watching the whole movie.
After watching this, I've got to watch those movies again! It's been a while!
Jason Bourne is simply one of the greatest action movie characters of all-time.
"If you do exactly what I tell you to do, nothing would happen"
- Jason Bourne
I need to pick a weekend to binge watch this series again.
Man, Bourne trilogy was so good. Don't know another movie which creates tension and dynamics so well.
I love how Black Brier version of Bourne gets him with his pants down at the car bomb scene, it was awesome that the writers felt no fear showing another agent could play Bourne and at the same time show that CIA doesn´t play cheap and the taxpayer money is well used.
Yeah, the scene where he drops his backpack as a diversion, right?
The CIA is not your friend.
@@phero2 yep! Was one of the first times we see Bourne get played himself. Desh was an impressive assrt
Alternative quote: *Chuckles* "I'm in danger"
When Damon's acting was spot on and without overacting. Good old days.
"jason bourne that's jesus christ" "what are you talking about my child?" "er no nothing"
Shaky cam was a bit much at times, but this is without a doubt one of the best action movies ever made
The Bourne shaky camera works because everything you need to see is focused in the middle of the screen.
To be honest it's hard to enjoy most action sequences now having watched the John Wick films. Camera cuts and shaky cam are hard to stomach.
I saw this again on Netflix the other day. I think i have watched this movie like 10 times. It's probably one of the best action movies of all time
The way he says that "Jesus Christ, that's Jason Bourne" gives me shivers
You can smell it, something brown and sticky.
Yes, shame about the need to blaspheme.
4:13 homeboy didn't know what to do with himself so he just chilled and let Jason Bourne do the work
Despite the quick cuts and shaky cam in the action scenes, the original trilogy was a masterpiece as a thriller/action movie. A rare thing these days.
See this 1.000 times but not in English, love Matt's voice.
Is it just me or are we all stunned with that super speed dis-arming the bald at 3:58
Everything about this movie was fantastic. Matt Damon just outdid himself in this role. The first 3 movies in this franchise were top class, but the other 2 absolute bollocks.
Jesus Christ, that's Jason Bourne! Yeah, there he is. You'd think he'd put a hat or sunglasses on.
You don’t think that actually works... do you? 😂
Indoors that would actually make him more conspicuous.
IRL, good luck keeping a cap on fighting 3 trained agents.
3:33: "This guy's got help!" LOL
พิมาย ((ติดหนึ่งใน๕))
อสังหา ((โรงสี่))

((ลูกสาวนาย หัว))
The sheer dread delivered in that line when they realize it’s Jason Bourne is so good.
after watching the bourne trilogy, other action movies start to look like cartoons..
They changed the Bond franchise.
@@Elthenar That existed LONG before the Bourne movies though. Ironically, a Bond movie was guilty of that pre-Bourne.
agreed bro
So nice to see Prince Daemon protecting his brother Viserys
🤣😂😎
Dang, I forgot just how good these movies are 😳
So, Vicerys Targaryen knew Jason Bourne...
THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!
Jason Bourne is the prince that was promised, confirmed.
When I'm walking in the parking lot, and some random cars lights come on, I look around for Jason Bourne.
You make me have to see this movie again. I haaaaate you, people!!!
One of the greatest Bourne scene
Oddly, I think the fight in Germany is the greatest (with the toaster)
@@phero2 for fights, my top pick is vs Desh in Morocco
the embassy escape with the girl in the car

This is a textbook example of "Author's omnipotence".
By spending a lot of time thinking out what happens in a compressed amount of time in the scene, and inserting cause and effect to fit the goals of the character, the Author presents genius while not having the same level of genius as the character.
You can see this too in well-prepared speeches and business or tech presentations;
Preparation is the mother of success.
True...
and a corollary:
"Fortune favors the prepared mind." -- I think that was Pasteur?
I hope the next time someone says that line that the whole entire room packs up as they know they shouldnt go there.
i think thats one of the best lines ever.....
It's so amazing it's become a meme
I think the best lines were in supremacy
The best line was "If you were in your office right now, we'd be having this conversation face to face."
One of the best lines every Jesus Christ that is Jason bourne 😂
One of the best scenes of all time!
truly action movie game changer.
This is the trilogy that started the Shaky Kam revolution.
I thought Blair Witch was one of the first in that tradition although not action in the same way.
@@MrFarmountainBlair Witch started the found footage trend.
I feel like Bourne every time I have to walk to the toilet😂 that’s the intensity of the walk
That guy is a great actor - he does a lot of comedy. does a great job here as the scared reporter.
Brilliant scene - I find the journalist's lack of fate disturbing though ;)
140+ cuts in this single clip, the editors are god tier.
I personally like the helpless reaction of Mr. Noah Vosen 😆
Not gonna lie, this is what I expected from the Black Widow movie, just badass invisible spy moments.
A shame it didn’t deliver. Wasted opportunity
It goes by the premise that 55kg women are effortlessly defeating 125 kg men and tossing them around...
