So the website issue with Semi Pro football is because many guys are not Internet savvy, or they think it costs TOO much money to have a Facebook page presence. They aren't dumb or anything but they don't think about Social Media as a thing. The WWFA and PFL around here are... dry on the social media front. They update pictures for championship games with a trophy and all, but its really hit and miss on the teams doing it. Players and Coaches a like have looked at me with my video camera and Facebook stuff like I am crazy and stuff. I will say this, more people know about the Cowlitz Cobras because of my social media than their own social media presence. It is partially why its it hard for people to hear about semi pro and that we struggle with player participation, because they don't exist in the public eye, they sit back and "wait to be found" or something.
In today's day, social media should be just as vital as their budgeting should! I told a lot of people this last year, but I wish they had put me in charge of doing their marketing, because most if not all of social media is free. EVERYBODY goes on facebook, and if they new how to use that to their advantage I feel like not only would we not have struggled so much finding players, but we would have had way more people attending the games too. We certainly had the town's support from local businesses (we gave away a car among other things at games), it's just that really nobody had any idea how semi pro football worked, and what it was going to offer to the community! Oh well, the team I'm looking at now looks like they at least put somewhat of an effort into it. I'm honestly surprised nobody on any of your team's administration saw what an impact you have on youtube and how they could benefit from it! I hope they get it through their heads sometime soon...
Yaaaaasssss
:) I'm so excited dude!
