Next to the boss battle theme, this was my favorite music track in the game and I have to say you absolutely nailed it. This sounds straight out of Turtles in Time or Battle Toads/Double Dragon.

YESSS, Big Apple 3 PM is one of my favorites too! I'm honestly surprised it wasn't requested nearly as much as others but I'm glad you did :) I also like how it parallels Alleycat Blues in the SNES, given its swing rhythm and similar tempo for a second stage track

Oh man, I had the same thought about Battletoads/Double Dragon when I was working on this track! Definitely reminds me of the title screen music and part of the first stage music where they go onboard the Ratship :)

TBH I keep debating with myself how I should approach the vocal tracks (the main reason why I've been putting them off a bit); that is, should I include the actual vocal or just do an instrumental (substitute the vocal with a lead synth) and stay within the capabilities of the SNES/style of the game... leaning toward the latter, but for now it's still up in the air :)

When did Nickelodeon become the owner of the TMNT IP? I have TMNT:Turtles in Time Arcade1up cabinet, I sold the 2 player countercade just recently, and have the original TMNT Arcade1up cab but both are disassembled right now. I have other cabs that are still built like the Simpsons, T2, and I'm building SFII Big Blue and have to build MKII Deluxe and Killer Instinct Pro and I want to have a custom gun cab themed to House of the Dead or Carnevil using Arcade1up parts with new graphics. The Arcade1up cabs have Nickelodeon on them but the Turtles in Time cab says Konami Amusement and Konami Digital Entertainment on the marquee. I actually replaced the marquee sticker (peeled it off) with an Arcade1up sized one from a graphic site that has the old Konami logo on it and is brighter. I can mod my Simpsons to put the Turtles games on it, I don't really need online. Both The Simpsons and TMNT in Time not the old TMNT cab are soft moddable to run emulators because they run Android. Both TMNT cabs have the two arcade games on them.

Oh man, I actually really appreciate your comment because it'll keep me accountable on the "authenticity" side of things for my next remixes. That "flute" sound was definitely an issue, and an example of a big challenge in translating Shredder's Revenge to Turtles In Time. So for a start, I do use only the sounds included in the original SNES soundtrack, so *technically* all sounds are "true" to the game. When it comes to the arrangement, most sounds are pretty consistent in the musical "roles" they play (lead, harmony, accents, etc.) across all tracks, which adds to the characteristic "Turtles In Time" vibe. IMO one reason why the Neon Night Riders music suddenly feels different is because it's the first track to break musical conventions that were pretty consistent in all the previous stages. One example is the main chords that are played by some mellow, almost bell-like synth, which up to that point was really reserved for quick arps and flourishes. It works for Neon Night Riders though since it's the first stage that takes place in the future. Funny enough, that bell-like synth is the exact same sound that you pointed out; it happens to sound more like a flute in that higher range. And to your point, it doesn't fit because in the SNES games it was never used to play a melodic line the way I had it in my remix. So why did I end up using it knowing I risked breaking convention? In the original Shredder's Revenge version, the corresponding phrase is played by an electronic keyboard, and Turtles In Time has no equivalent instrument (since hip hop/urban wasn't part of the musical palette). So I then have to substitute an instrument from a completely different family (choosing from mainly electric guitars and some 90s synths). Usually this works out alright, but sometimes like in this case, the instrument that sounds closest in timbre (kinda mellow, can be sustained indefinitely) also happens to deviate completely from its "expected" role in the Turtles In Time soundtrack. Unfortunately, the flute sound was the least of all the evils, and trust me when I say substituting any other instrument would make a mustard donut look tame! Thank you for your comment! Attention to detail like that keeps me honest :)
Can't say for sure, depending on how things go (different tracks pose their own unique challenges and some are easier to tackle than others) but I'm really hoping to get Clash of the Outcasts out next!
