The reason why he was careful around the gun is because so many cops have been killed by random people having guns in their possession on a traffic stop, an excellent memory of mine was once the cops stopped a man in his van, and he was a father, they got him, and then his son came around wielding an AK-47 and shot both of them dead, they eventually bit the bullet, but you have to be careful if you see someone with a gun in a traffic stop.
