Like I said before you could get your limit in a mud puddle in your driveway. Great looking fish. Thanks for taking us along with you. Always enjoy your videos.
I'm in Pennsylvania still waiting on ice, so I'm soaking up all the open water winter walleye content and techniques I can. Great video and great day brother!
Always enjoy and learn from your videos. Thank you. Thats the best looking "quality size" video ive ever seen. Reminds me of the late 60s early 70s in Northern Wisconsin and southwestern Ontario. TIGHT LINES
Lance, noticed you give it a few cranks vs popping it up, is this typically the strategy when casting or in more relation to the colder water/sluggish fish? Blade baits, you typically pop them up about 4-6 inches off the bottom? Nice job man, as always! Love watching all the vids old and new! Nice job man!
I feel like the reeling between drops can be as effective as popping it up depending on the fishes mood. The water was cold on this day and a more subtle presentation can sometimes be better. With the blades you can play with different amounts of lift off the bottom but in cold water just enough to get the blade to vibrate is best.
Big storm on the way for Friday ! It's good to see you taking advantage of the mild winter before the nasty weather comes ! I could have used one of those walleye's for dinner Friday ! Perfect eater size ! 😋😋😋
Nice, I'm many pools below you but only 2 mi from the river. We've only not been fishing below dams for a month when it was froze. Doing ok to well most times out
Lance, noticed you give it a few cranks va rip the blade bait up, is this typically the strategy when casting or in more relation to the colder water/sluggish fish? Nice job man!
I was wondering if yu saw anyone fishing from the wall around the corner Lance?,and if the water has come up any at all. Great fishin today and as usual great videos!!
They have been around for years. I always wondered how one ended up having the property rights to have them built. They are always in the area below the dam that holds a lot of fish.
Everyone says they are too aggressive in the cold water, I thought the same thing. Then one of the first weeks in December last year I saw a guy mopping up the eyes between the wing dams. The bite did die that week, but it taught me a lesson. It's worth a few casts!
I was always under the impression that I needed to slow the presentation done in cold water until recently. The water was 32 deg on this day and I was fishing pretty aggressively with the blade bait and jig. The fish were still smacking it.

lol! I’m pretty sure I’d struggle to get bit in my driveway mud holes. I appreciate the comment.
I liked how you pulled that last 20 over the skim ice to the net. Reminds me of the Missouri up in S.D. where we had pickup sized bergs to deal with.
I find it amazing how aggressive these walleyes can be even though the water is still very cold.

I think the average size of walleyes on the upper pools is increasing and we should continue to see this trend.
Great video. What pool are you fishing?
Great video Lance!! I love the blade bait bite.
I’m quickly becoming an avid blade bait guy.
Snow Friday then real cold looks like there will be ice fishing in south Michigan 👍
I think you can bet on it!
Great vid. Great winter for extended boat fishing!
I’ve been enjoying the mild winter.

Nice work man. That looks so cold but you got some nice ones. Thanks for sharing and stay connected bro!
It was just cold enough to freeze up the guides on my rod. The wind wasn’t bad so it was tolerable.

Next week’s weather will change the fishing options on the upper Mississippi River significantly.
Nice, I'm many pools below you but only 2 mi from the river. We've only not been fishing below dams for a month when it was froze. Doing ok to well most times out
Someday I'll venture south and try some new pools. I have yet to fish Pool 10 and anything south of there.
@@AnglerX we're in the mid to high teens for pools
Looked like fun. Hoping the ice sets up down here by the 20th. Tired of drinking too much whiskey and watching Key West videos.
I don’t know where you’re located but the ice coverage is going to increase significantly over the next couple weeks.

It’s crazy how good the bite has been through December and last time I went was January 7 and still a good bite
Up until this year I have not done much open water fishing in December. It's been a blast!
@@AnglerX we make due with what we have true river rat ways

I didn’t see anybody on the wall but there was one boat in the bay.
You are smacking the fish and I was in the snow :( Nice fish ! Lance
The snow is finally here. More on the way tonight. I’m hoping to hit the ice this weekend.
Thanks for the video are you on pool #7
he's by the best dam fishing float pool 8
I wonder who came up with the idea for those fishing barges. We don't have them down here, but they seem to be popular from Guttenberg to Trempealeau.
the best dam fishing float, open march

@@AnglerX I can definitely envision altercations happening between boaters and the floats if we had them here.
Are you on the Southside of #9
How do you like your Honda?
Great motor! I would buy another one but I figure this one will last me many years.
No snow on shore was thinking this was today, just curious
This video was recorded before the snow. It takes some time to edit a video. I try to keep them as current as I can.
Like it
Thanks!
Which pool is this?
Hey Lance, have you ever used jigging raps in the cold water, or is that too aggressive for this time of year?..

Ice EVERYWHERE next week!
Yes! Very cold weather should lock up the backwaters and larger lakes.
@@AnglerX I know you're not going to be happy about it but I AM SOOOOO EXCITED!!! 🤎🧊🎣
