oye siiiii esto esta buenoRUMBA DE CUBA ...como estan los Rumberos de Cuba. me gustan todos sus numero...felicidades para todos...candela me corre por las venas, mi cuba querida caballeroooo.
Look to Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brazil and so many more beautiful places in the world and for me along with the incredible music is the greatest beauty .... black and white UNITE!
Not really it is a black sound and music. But, instead of being exclusively they allow white people to join. Of course the culture us influenced by Spanish and Portuguese culture, but it has a very very African/Afro sound. Hence, the terms Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Cuban and so on. Peace :)
I totally agree. I am a white Cuban and when I am in Cuba, I walk freely among MY PEOPLE !! NO FEAR,NO RESENTMENT....And my parents allowed us only to play with Cuban and Dominicans, which were prominent . The PR's were much more Americanized I love the entire Spanish Caribbean. America has destroyed and abused us waaay too long !! Ahora nos toca volver a nuestras islas porque este país de mierda SE ACABÓÓ Ó !!!! 50 years in Manhattan is now LIVING HELL.
Mort Aljueu Washington Heights is one of the best Hispanic Neighborhoods in Manhattan is all Dominicans. Afro-Americans and Puerto Ricans bring a lot of bullshit and crime every where they go. like you said Puerto Ricans are Americanized in that they hang around Afro-Americans and act like them, they're lazy, use drugs, have no family Values.
E pena Dominicans bring crime too. You guys act like you are above everyone else. You are not. Don't bring your harsh views on this video, especially when MY Cuban people aren't like that. We love everyone.
A beautiful Compilation of Traditional Standards of both Spiritual & Santero Music and they are a very talented bunch. Would LOVE to acquire the soundtrack or CD, not to mention, see them LIVE.
Cubian music and the rest of Latin America where blacks where taken the music is so closed and relate. The African beats and the influences are amazing.
Aiiiieeeeeeeeee! If you get a thrill out of real rumba music, chanting, and dancing ... LOS RUMBEROS de CUBA will "open" your day for sure. Watch, listen, and let your "Inner Santero / Santera" guide your body to .... ???? (Oh, he / she, is in there alright ... Just wait and see). This is "heartbeat & spirit" stuff for your soul. Enjoy.
I think the same. The Cuban food is fucking good!!! I have a Cuban girlfriend, so i know what I am talking about. She has a Brazilian friend. The Brazilian food good too!
We are partially Efik. A part of our ancestors came from the Cross River (Efiks, Ibos, Ibibios). Ekpe came to Cuba and became Abakua, a male society with the same spirit.
@ThatsABiggon there is video here on youtube on the history of rumba which i willtryto get for you since i cant find, where one of the old cuban(black) rumberos talks about the influenve islas canarias and flamenco style singing had on cuban rumba singing. It's a bit more complicated than "its all from africa", which is silly, because when you have two parent contients (europe and afric) that influence in the new world its bound to create unique crealized forms.
Cuban singers, please upload performances of "Please Shut Down Gitmo", the video response seen here which is a remake of "Guantanamera". Muchas Gracias.
@InsuperiorTorment, I believe you misunderstood gman2000's statement:He isn't saying the language is not Spanish it's the singing STYLE that's NOT Spanish. It's purely African. If you search the music of central & west Africa you'll hear nearly Identical singing, harmony, rhythm, & percussion+extras that never made it to Cuba (like in the USA, etc.). BTW, it's Afro-cuban because it's African music/culture retained in Cuba. The Yoruba people are the parents of this music in Cuba
Cuba is amazing. I fell for this Cuban girl at a resort from Havana (a non prostitute) and we keep in touch for the past 2 months now since we last met.. I plan on going to see her in 6 months or so and we'll see what happens..
and this girl is like in love with me too and says for me to come to her home in Cuba..not her come here to Canada... so seems like she isn't into me so she can come to Canada...:P
This sounds like a replica of yoruba traditional music... the tonation is so alike except this is actually spanish and not yoruba. But the tonation sounds so much like that of yoruba.
@CubaCheChe this isn't Cuban music traditional Cuban music is Son, Danzon, ContraDanza, Mambo, etc. this is fro Cuban because it's roots come from Africa.
@InsuperiorTorment, because someone is old doesn't make them an expert, unless he's a couple hundred years old & followed the progress. You can find an example of a guy inferring influence & I can produce countless examples of people all over Africa singing like this. Influence is evident,as they are singing in Spanish, but the extent is debatable, esp.given the regions their ancestors are from. Also, if my memory is reliable, flamenco was partly influenced by Africans anyway
rumba is spanish the real afirikan name is orin ruumba = music great of soul. back in black Egyptian or ede yoruba spelling rule.... orin = music, ru= great , um =of, ba= soul.......
Loving the mention of Yoruba but none of the Bantu, which was the largest group taken to Cuba throughout the slave trade. Rumba has a heavy Bantu influence. Listen to Palo then to Columbia and Guaguanco. You'll hear the similarities. Remember, Yoruba was not the first or only group taken to Cuba.
@ThatsABiggon Yes flamenco was influenced by morocco... but if you say "Africans" then people will take it as Blacks... its stupid to lump everyone from africa together, even in africa theres a bunch of different tribes with different customs and different things. ANd like I said, saying "it all comes from africa" is like saying "its all european" when talking about harmonically complex music, no doubt the inspiration is there but it would be ignorant to claim that.
My husband (Cubano) broke into dance when he saw this video. It is indeed the real deal.
OYE CABALLEROS CON MI CUBA NO QUIERO CUENTO,SI NADIE LO HACE COMO LO HACE MI CUBA!!!!
I LOVE AFRICAN AND AFRO CUBAN CULTURE..
