In English we say ‘“there’s bad blood between them” for people who don’t get along. We also say “if this goes wrong, it’s on your head” = “it’ll be all your fault”.
"Dammuh khafif" actually has a literal translation in German, meaning light-hearted: "leichtblütig". Maybe Stefanie didn't remember that word because it's a bit oldfashioned.
I will save this video. These two languages I've been trying to learn for years.
You'll have more fun with arabic trust me I speak both

Thank you for the great video! It was really knowledgeable.
Thanks its so refreshing
Thanks! How enjoyable and useful was this video. I love to learn daily expressions!😃
This is priceless, love it. I follow you both and learn both languages 🇩🇪❤️🇱🇧
Maha! Peace, keep up the great job....
I guessed "ala raasi" instantly because we have the same proverb in Urdu/Hindi "sar aankhon par" meaning "on my head and eyes".
It's on me !
That was great fun!
You are very good teacher, please upload more frequently.
Funny video Maha!
The first two phrases might be “heavy hearted” and “light hearted” in English.
In persian they also have an "extreme" expression to show love which is "ghorbonet beram"
In persian it means: May I be sacrificed for you, which means I adore you, I love you very much.
It is also used as sweetie, honey or love.
In Spanish we have the same meaning in arebic of heavy blooded “Sangron/Sangrona” a person is serious, rude etc
I think To'ubrni(may you bury me - in a wishful manner)'s actual figurative meaning is something more like: "I love you so much that I can't stand the idea of you dying, and wish for you to live more than I do to myself"
Nice video
Nice video sis
Nice
Just a little time left .
God bless you my sister :)
My meat! that's nice one and innocent Maha 😂 yeh you meant flesh.
Yeah i ment flesh 😄
We have it in German: leichtblütig, and its the same meaning as in arabic
Greatttt videoo!!👌👌👌😍😍💐💐
It seems like dammu tqeel might be spielverderber, a party pooper. And dammu khafeef might be like a bon vivant, the life of the party.
"You end up burning your bassall" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey I really enjoyed these proverbs. we also say pa sturgu in pashto which means "with my eyes" to a favor

In German we can call people hot blooded ( heißblütig)
...and in these cases we are most probably not talking about German people, usually we mean Italian, Spanish ... and we are referring to their assumed temperament and ( cliché, of course) sex appeal.
@@giselaposch8686 I think it's kinda racist tho
Slightly, I agree. But it does not really imply anything negative, rather something characteristic, typical, maybe erotic. When used in a negative way it means aggression, emotional overreaction, machismo.
Heavy Blood means he is heavy ,serious and have no sense of hummor.
Yekke!!!
دمه خفيف يعني محبوب
The German girl is dammuh tqueel and so was my German professor. They're not exactly known for being light-hearted lol
Amazing !
Basal is also Somali ☺️ means onion
For the first one thick blooded it's like saying someone is dense. Lol.
Hi iam in sarawak and iam muslim and you are very beautiful
Can you speak Hebrew Maha?
I know arabic but this one is very different way ♡
That's because it's Spoken Levantine Arabic but in the 🇵🇸 Palestinian dialect from the north (Galilee)

The meaning of “heavy blood” is translated in Italian as someone just “heavy”. Sei pesante! You say to someone you can’t digest and is too much for tou

Really? O_O all my life I though Dammuh Tqell means "he is stubborn"! It actually means he doesn't get a joke or he is unsympathetic?
Rashly
Speak spanish? Me sali del otro canal porque este es mejor
Maha, but can take another meaning: His blood is dead , He has cold blood, he is no life, He is antipatic!!
You are speaking mehrooah but written is mehrooqah . Why this difference ?
Maybe it's like the Egyptian dialect, they pronounce the qaaf as an alif. They call qalam alam in the colloquial dialect. So mahrooqah means burnt and she just pronounced qaaf as an alif or hamza
Because in the spoken dialect especially in the dialects from the Levant Region / Eastern Mediterranean (i.e.Israel/Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon & Syria ) the qaaf which is an Arabic letter is silent so therefore it's not pronounced like in MSA with the exception of those from rural or mountainous areas like the Druze (Arabic speaking group that have their origins from Shiite -Isma'ili Islam found primarily in Israeli-Palestine , Lebanon & Syria) and the Bedouin community who use the qaaf for gaaf as in go

Very extreme examples....things are bloody and burnt and buried....:\....we need to 'khafeefy' the expressions.
I wonder if that Arabic phrase is relate to ‘blood of my blood, flesh of my flesh’
@LerneDeutch
Dammo t'eel = not funny , unhumoristic دمو تقيل
Spanish: una persona que no es gracioso , chistoso (a person whose not funny , lacks a good sense of humor
In English a phlegmatic person
