Oh yeah I remember that Castle of Lions, holy grail back in the day. Don't remember the rest of those but that tower of DooM looked rad! And I can't stop looking at your Prime back there, he looks so sad without his fists and rifle.
He is sad, lol. He (I) lost them decades ago. I can't remember the last time I had them, sometime in the late 80s. He still is super special to me. Thanks for watching!
Great Video and Yes the Panosh place Voltron Castle and the Schaper toys Filmation's Ghostbusters house are two of the all time greatest..though so very forgotten playsets.
They looked like they were a lot of fun. I don't even remember these in stores as a kid. I had very limited exposer to toy stores and i only saw what the local stores had for sale. Would have loved to have these. Thanks for watching!!
Wow man never knew that voltron set even existed! I had the firehouse as a kid, but man had I known about the haunted house from the other series,...let's be honest, its WAY BETTER! All those accessories should have came with the firehouse and the firehouse should have had 4 floors with 4 bedrooms for all the Ghostbusters, they should fix this and put it back on shelves,!!! Great video as always brother!👍👍👍👍
That would have been a great firehouse playset if it had rooms for everyone...and a front desk area. Also a "basement" with the containment unit to hold all the little ghosts that came packed with the figures. Thanks for watching, brother!!
the Castle of Lions proudly sits on my top shelf in my bedroom! Guarded by the 2 foot tall Shogun Warrior like Voltron (he was a remote control but just take off the wheels and he's a perfect Shogun Warrior friend). Secret Wars line had WOLVERINE! That sold it to me. I had him and a few others...and that line should have kept going on and on. i had a few Karate Kid figures, and this playset was in comic books at the time, but out of my range of what i got for allowance. the figures were Rambo sized, about 5 inches tall. The Ghostbusters house looks alot like this Weeble Wobbles Haunted House i had when i was much younger in the 70s...i wish i still had that set!
Only playset I ever had as a kid was big old black nogahyde couch! It was everything from my Death Star to Mumm-Ra's Pyramid. Actually it worked our really well for that one.
I remember seeing adverts in comic books for the Tower of Doom when I was a Kid, but never saw it or the action figures here in the UK. I loved the Secret Wars comics though, wish I'd had some of the toys.
I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get these over in the UK. To be honest, we didn't have them very long here, which is sad. I loved the comic too. Was my first foray into a crossover and it was such a huge event. Thanks for watching!!
@@MySideoftheLaundryRoom Yeah, it was. We had the Meco superhero toys and figures, but never Secret Wars stuff. The Secret Wars comics were do cool, it was my first crossover event as well, it was epic and I loved Spider-Mans new costume. Did they ever do toys for Secret Wars 2? Always wondered about that.
@@MySideoftheLaundryRoom Oh right. I wasn't sure. Cheers. I remember the Secret Wars 2 comics. It crossed over into lots of comics. I recall an Uncanny X Men issue where Phoenix (Rachel) tried to fight and destroy the Beholder on her own. That's still one of my favourite X-Men issues. 😃
Had the Castle of Lions and all five of Voltron lions with figures on the same Christmas. Later on, had the GI Joe Mobile Command Center...and it did have an elevator.
Aw man! With all the recent chaos, your videos haven't been making the top of my youtube recommendations algorithms. My news commentary recommendations have only been broken up by Gordan Ramsey yelling videos. It's nice to come back to a backlog of vids but now I feel left behind. Great topic as usual. I don't think it's that controversial to say Filmation GBs had a cooler playset than Real GBs. Loved the Remco shout-out. It's a close call whether Remco made better He-Man knockoffs or GI Joe Knockoffs. Probably have to give it to He-Man Knock offs just because Glasslite, Galoob, and Lanard made GI Joe stuff that gets mixed up with Remco figures. Low key, Gay Toys probably made the best GI Joe vehicles until Chap Mei at that price point. I don't know how forgotten Voltron was. It was kind of the bridge between Star Wars and GI Joe. I remember that castle was crazy expensive.
Voltron itself is not forgotten, but I think that specific playset is. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Remco. They were toys I could afford more often than the real toys. Had just as many Remco produced toys back in the day. Thanks for watching!!
Cool playsets. I'm surprised to see Johnny fighting ninjas along side Daniel. Was there something I missed, like an animated series where this all happened?
Everybody puts their differences aside when it comes to fighting Ninjas!! There was an animated series that aired in 1989, but Johnny wasn't in it (if i recall). It was the normal globe trotting adventures seen in other shows like Mr.T and stuff. Thanks for watching!!
The more I look at the pic on the box the more I discover. Where's mr miyagi and who the hell is the other guy in the top balcony (white top blue pants) supposed to be? Mike Barnes? Looks nothing like him though
Toys R Us... That one row that went to the ceiling. It was on the first row, near the Bikes, and then leaning to the baby section.. Stacked to the ceiling of Toys R Us with Playsets. There were so many playsets that they had Two rows by 87.

Those were some cool looking playsets. Great video once again, I really enjoyed it. I can't wait for part 2.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for watching!!
Dork Lord of the 80's!
I love this video, I had forgotten about these.

Same here, the couch was everything. Also i had a rock wall outside that was everything from jungle caves to an alien planet.
God, I miss those days!!
Man I was absolutely obsessed with the Tower of Doom!!

No, they never did. A few figures trickled out after the line was finished for international markets but that was about it.

@@MySideoftheLaundryRoom problem is by the time you even realize you were fighting ninjas it's already too late for you
4:45 just noticed John Kreese at the bottom right hand corner too

Of those we have: 1, 2, 4 and 5 so far :)
My friend next door had the Karate Kid dojo, we used it for GI Joe ninja battles.
I like the room too!
Thank you!
Great picks and video
Thank you!
Alot of playsets did come with elevators back then huh? Remember the carwash/service center one? (Can't remember the exact name of it)
Awesome episode!!!!!!
Thank you and thanks for watching!!
Correct me if I’m wrong but seem to remember the mouse family in voltron building there own mouse mech .
I think you're right, lol
The bat was there side kick I think his name is belfery.
Either way, I'm a fan, lol!
