Thanks for watching them. I'm trying lots of new things and hoping it will help transform my art. It's a process. But I love sharing. It's not always successful but that is all part of the journey.
I like to use Tacky When Dry. Big yes to cleaning tool & stencil immediately! I use foil sheets for laminators or nail foils rather than flakes. When the medium is dry and tacky, I lay the sheet on top, burnish and pull sheet off. If a spot got missed, just go back over with the sheet to pick up the foil. Much less messy. Ask me how I know 😅
I haven't tried the foil yet. My reason for the gold leaf is on large paintings they like to see leaf. It elevates the art. But on certain applications it was challenging. So very happy to learn about this.
I wanted to use gold leaf with my stencils and it just wasn't working for me. Then I saw someone using Tacky-When-Dry. It's perfect.
Excellent tutorial! Your videos are always so informative and inspiring. Thank you for doing them!

@@SusanCliftonArtist absolutely! Watching you try these things inspires me to try them also!

Gold leaf is beautiful. I’m just clumsy, I always end up ripping it or getting in a clump. 😂
Have you considered using a Posca acrylic paint pen instead of a sharpie permanent marker?
I have done that. Nothing on video yet.
Fun but what other items would one use with the tacky?
You can use it to apply metallic foils, mica powders or chips, and glitter. Maybe even sand. The mica powders are beautiful.
