Aragall had such a sweet yet virile voice. He had it ALL. More than ANY other tenor of the time. The soprano is lovely!!

At San Francisco Opera we had Aragall im many roles between 1973 and 1989. I saw him twice with Sutherland as Roland in Massenet's "Esclarmonde" and I also saw his performances as the Duke of Mantua, Werther, Mario Cavaradossi, Maurizio in "Adriana Lecouvreur", Faust, Rodolfo, Don Carlo, Gustavo in "Ballo in Maschera" and Pinkerton. He shared the French and Italian tenor roles in this period with Pavarotti, Domingo, Carreras and Alfredo Kraus.

I never saw live, but from recordings, I love Jaume and GDS(pippo) to be the finest lyric male voices. So organically handsome package.
