I own Oakley glasses because I can get RX (replacement) lens for them in my prescription without buying new frames. My local optical shop is a Oakley dealer with this service. I have found the Oakley lens to be of superior optical quality & comfortable on all day rides & I use them for driving also. Of the various photochromatic lens, I find the Oakley lens to get the darkest.
I have had a real bad experience with my Oakley's ... They delaminate and/or show scaring out of the blue, replaced lens, same issue, within 6 months! No more OEM Oakley for me, found a replacement lens manufacturer, same color and will even do the Rx ... Half the price and been very very happy with those for almost 2 years, next visit to oftamologist, if new Rx, will get new.🤷♂
We didn't talk about prescription lenses & specific needs around that - an ... "oversight" if you will... Should we do a follow-up on options for folks who use corrective lenses?
Also, that seemed to be the case, at least of the three photochromic lenses we looked at. The Oakleys definitely seemed a bit darker than the other two, although the Tifosi were mirrored so not as easy to compare.
Tifosi Sledge Lite - Meh, If you’re an Rx user, your shield options for cycling are limited. They are: 1. Rx glasses (not a shield) 2. Bonded shield (limited field of view) 3. Clip-in (fewer shield options and difficult to clean and easy to misalign). In 2024 you would think there would be better options, but there aren’t. The offering by Tifosi is meh. Does it work for bifocal users with strong Rx? Yes. But the issues, are: the clip-in is small (can give a fisheye effect), can easily scratch your shield taking it on/off to clean, is available for limited types of shields. Pros: it works with helmets and fogging is minimal. Con: the photo chromatic sensitivity is not what I had hoped for.

What happened to the other guy? No offense to these guys but max is way more compelling.
