This whole song sends me Linkin Park & Starset vibes, but I just can't put my finger on it right now.
From the lyrics, what I think this song is about, is about those dark thoughts that are constatly following us, never letting us out and us calling out for our dearest persons to help us or to enjoy our last moments together.
But it's so many things in this song.. Because self-destruction comes from doubting ourselves, but we doubt ourselves because others either bullied us, abused us or both. 'I taste despair as I feel you come near'' that could very well be the person/s that brought us down.
''It's another projection'' yep. everyone does that a lot, do we not? For example Im projecting on ocs and artworks..hitting so close to home.
''ignore my reflection'' Im going to take that literally and feel as that's about not wanting to look in the mirror because: either one would feel worse about their looks or 2) one would want to change even more and be more perfect until the mirror agrees but we cant be perfect.
''Self sabotage is my prophecy'' ''overthinking till I believe''...that has hit exactly where it hurts. Oof.
And the style of the song is so interesting! Something new and different! I don't know why I wouldn't just expect that already :)

I'm sure you guys probably hear this a lot, but I cannot even begin to tell you how much I needed this. As an artist I constantly sit there in tears telling myself I'll never be good enough for anyone, and after awhile it's something I've really grown to believe, and it hurts. It's why I stopped trying with animation for awhile, because it feels like there's no point, and giving up on art as a whole is something that's grown to become very tempting lately. This alone doesn't mend the feelings, but it is enough of a shove to push me in a direction that might turn out to be a better path.
Please keep doing what you do, and thank you for all your music, it helps a lot of people and will likely help many more

For myself, I can say that I don’t regret my decision. I am extremely independent as a result.
My sister still loves her job like on day one, so that can’t be too too bad either, huh?

To be honest i feel already damned because pain is all i really know anymore and when i feel happy its almost like i get scared or fear it so i suppress it and say to everyone im perfectly fine even though thats never true and my family says my smile is always so bright and my laugh so great and i say you learn to lie to those closest when lying is your main survival instinct because when i tell you the truth i get punished for instance i told my family i don't believe in god or a higher power and they threatened to hit me and take my brother away from me so i faked being Christian for alot of my life soo yea just needed to get that out

Yeah, Blake, for the last 10 years or so, I’ve been having to lie to my family about my beliefs too. They’re super hardcore Christians, but after some of the shit I’ve been through, I just can’t find it in myself to believe there’s a god. Emotionally, I’m either totally empty or crushed by all sorts of pain. I haven’t felt truly happy in a long time
@@Nix1280 i understand your pain all to well like you say all the pain you've felt emotionally that there is no god what really led me astray is i was told god has so much power and love that with the flick of his fingers he can make a miracle happen but ive prayed for alot of things yes some were stupid things but others were very hard emotionally to talk about or even to pray about but i truly was led away when i witnessed death with my own eyes for the first time and it wasn't like just a mouse in a trap or anything it was the death of a very close freind and father figure to me he had a family he was only in his 40's so stil had a lot of time to live and i was spending the night at his house me and his son became good freinds and he was grunting heavily in his sleep and i noticed blood dripping from his lip and i woke him up and told him about it and said i was gonna go home i only lived at the time a few steps away and that morning he was found passed away with his lip and nose bleeding and all i could ask the so called lord is why did he do this and it shook my beliefs but then a few yrs later my best freind died in a fatal car accident on the highway and that tore me apart to the point all i could do is curse god for everything he has done and everything he couldve changed and then i asked myself what if he has just turned his back on me but i became big into history and realized all the bizzarr twisted acts done in history in the name of god that he never tried to stop and i just drifted away from it but lied about it to keep my little brother in my life so i forced myself to go to church to false pray and to lie about reading the bible until i told the pastor at our church i didn't believe and he is like how come and i explained everything and he said to me god works in mysterious ways so maybe he was testing you or he will do somthing huge down the line in your life but you do not have to believe in him for him to notice you but after that i told my parents im not Christian at all and if they are going to punish me for it they can go ahead but you cant force a religion on someone
@@aaveragesatanist5675 I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through that. For me, it was that my older sister was doing things on my tablet that she shouldn’t have been. I had no idea and ended up being blamed for it when my parents did a sort of technological purge after my brother was caught doing something similar but worse. I tried to tell them it wasn’t me, but they refused to believe me and abandoned me with my grandparents. All of this was right before middle school started, which makes it all the worse. I was super depressed, but I wanted to keep believing, so I was praying really hard for God to take those emotions from me. He didn’t. Then my grandparents pushed me to move to a highschool away from where my friends were going to go for some sort of advanced program, and that was really hard. I still tried to pray at that point, but it was, like, once a month. Over the following summer, things started to look up bc my grandparents could tell I didn’t wanna keep doing that advanced program and had my paperwork and stuff transferred to the highschool my friends were at. But, less than a month after that happy news was announced, one of my friends from the other highschool (the advanced program one) committed suicide. The next couple years weren’t great, but they were tolerable. Then, after this pandemic started, a friend I’d drifted slightly apart from but still spoke to sometimes tried to commit suicide too. Thankfully, her father found her and she was saved, but things haven’t really gotten better. Tho, my father finally tried to start “fixing” things as if that’s possible at this point.
@@Nix1280 im sorry i understand how suicide can affect people and i understand the thing with your father mine was never there still isn't and im 17 almost 18 and he never has been or tried to even contact me or be in my life so i told my mother if he ever tried to come into my life id probably punch him in the face and tell him to fu#k off
