    Note: I realized that I forgot to mention that for the first round in Yellow yarn, you need to work only in the treble crochet and skip the single crochet.

    So I am in the process of making the petals on the sunflower . I had 72 stitches of the last brown row. If I crochet 3 the ch 4 picot...I get alot more than 12 petals. Am I supposed to only stitch into the treble stitches from previous round and not the single crochet stitches also?

    • @MakeItYourselfByPapari
      @MakeItYourselfByPapari  Год назад +1

      Thanks a lot, and yes I forgot to mention that the last row will have 72 stitches but the the stitches of the treble crochet are the ones which will be accessible to make the stitches on, so you will be working on the treble crochets alone. And skip all the single crochets.

    Aloha and Thank you for sharing this tutorial! 🙏🏻 Your instructions were easy to follow and it came out beautiful. I had difficulty with the basket. I used acrylic because it’s what’s mostly sold here and it was too soft and flimsy. Can you suggest a better type of yarn or can I double up on the yarn to make it thicker/stronger so it’s not so flimsy? Thanks again for uploading your tutorial.

    • @MakeItYourselfByPapari
      @MakeItYourselfByPapari  Год назад +1

    So what I did instead...when I got to doing the sc followed by TC I flipped my work and then did the sc and tc...this way the pretty side is still on top and the bumps aren't on the back side

    I kind of wish the whole brown part was bumpy like the treble crochets :)

    • @MakeItYourselfByPapari
      @MakeItYourselfByPapari  Год назад +1

      I actually wanted to make it that way, but then changed it because then it would not serve the purpose of being a coaster, since it may not balance the cups well with all the bumps in the center. If you want to make the whole brown part bumpy you can follow this tutorial of mine : ruclips.net/video/J4WrJHN9cBM/видео.html

    • @MakeItYourselfByPapari
      @MakeItYourselfByPapari  Год назад +1

      Thank you. You will need to add one more round to the base, you will have more green leaves but steps remains the same. You can also use a larger hook and yarn.

    I can’t seem to get 12 picots. I keep getting more. What am I doing wrong?

    • @MakeItYourselfByPapari
      @MakeItYourselfByPapari  Год назад

      After the last round using the brown yarn, when you start making the picots you should be working only over the treble crochet stitches. That way you will get 12 picots. I absolutely love these but mine came out really wrinkly. Like the circle won’t lay flat. I went over and over and counted very carefully but don’t understand how I’m increasing so much? Any ideas?

      Hi, I am really sorry you faced this issue. I realized that for the last round I forgot to mention that you need to work only in the treble crochet and skip the single crochet. Hope this helps. I will try to pin a comment with this information so that others don’t face this issue.

    I looked the sunflower coasters and it is very pretty but my big thing is I like coasters to lay flat and it doesn't lay flat I'm wondering if this has to do with the first round of single crochet with pico in the yellow because you say you use every stitch which to me would be single crochet and treble crochet each gets this stitched in but watching you it appears you are only doing the stitches into the treble crochet so in essence skipping every other stitch is this correct or not correct sorry I appreciate your help😊

      It’s not necessary to use cotton yarn, but cotton yarn holds the shape better.
