Thanks Duncan. Most of the shots are taken with a GoPro HD wide Mk2. Sometimes I use Canon XL H1 or XL A1s cameras for ground shots but these are far too big and heavy to fly with. Everything is shot in HD, either 720 or 1080i usually at 50fps. The mp4 files are imported into Premier Pro CS5 with AFX and edited and re coded there before exporting to utube through Adobe Media Encoder. Render and upload times can be quite long unless you have a fast computer and broadband connection though.
Thanks Brian. Certainly viewing at 720p and full screen on You Tube, the quality of your video footage is excellent. :O) RUclips at present does not offer playback at 60fps, and there is a loss of quality after uploading, due to the compression process. The Contour Plus is an improvement, with wider angle at 720p @ 60fps. I also shoot some video on a Nikon D7000 DSLR, too big to take up in the harness....Best Regards, Duncan.
Very nice footage Brian. What video camera do you use? GoPro HD or HD Plus or something else? Looks like HD 1080p @ 60fps. What video application do you use for composition? I have a Contour Plus which is set at 720p @ 60fps. I import the Quick Time files (.MOV) into Adobe Premiere Elements, then save to hard disk before uploading to RUclips. Your video's appear to run very smooth, so I'm keen to know your secret? Spookily, I have the same Flying Suit and Colour as you!! Best Regards, Duncan.
