This was on my wishlist for a while now but I finally pulled the trigger after your last video. I have not be able to stop playing it since. Just finally beat the final boss on easy mode. I have NEVER been stuck on a boss on an easy mode probably ever in my life. 11/10 recommend.
Exact same here, as a fan of Noita I had this game on my radar for ages but didn't wanna play it because it hadn't fully released yet. Picked it up with Beelz's last video and haven't been able to stop playing.
After several runs I've found that the wand spirit build is just plain broken. It gives free wand spirit + on every wand, additional wand slots per lv of the set, and gives free flight. Its just plain op. Its ONLY weakness is idle wand slots are useless and attacks are fully autonomous, so spell reflect enemies can kill you (only the second area really focuses on that). Also some tips: Scarlet rooms - You can take as many items as you want - Stack as much early shield as you can, scarlet rooms can proc as long as you take no HEALTH damage, shield damage is fair game - ALWAYS take the rewind key (unless its past area 2 PAIN) it resets the area at the cost of randomizing all your current stuff Wands - I find that secondary slots (idle, movement, spell cast, hit proc, and over time) are far more important since they auto cast those spells even when not in your hand - Focus on one or two spells per wand and fill the rest with modifiers for massive dps Spells - Don't sleep on magic bullet, the upgraded versions give percent damage bonus on hit targets 50% and 100% - Keep one element affect per wand or else the element becomes random per cast (element cloak relic gives every effect at random so don't waste slots on slime, ice, or poison) (flame core still good for its other effect) Other stuff - Potions are busted. If you ever get the potion relics as an option get them, the potions themselves are amazing and getting free health and mana and chance of infinite potions is crazy. - Funny enough final boss is easier than the first 2 elites IMO. Thunderbeast and Demonflower suck..... then Apostle, the rest kinda easy. Hope this helps and I got more tips if you want more let me know :)
Funnily enough, while the ghost character is busted on paper, I really don't like it with not being able to control my wands. My favourite base character is the one that lets you use your wands from range. Makes orbit builds very easy
damn, ive beaten the game on nightmare mode and done a bunch of testing of stuff in the starting dummy room and your teaching me stuff still, goes to show how insanely complex this game is
@@tokabe3826 I can understand that not being able to control your wands is a little weird after doing that as the default, but the AI for the wands and their aim is really good for the most part. It's just the auto attack against the reflect enemies is the only real downside IMO. Also with orbit wands, the wand typically stays at the optimal orbit range for the spell OR it stays at the farthest range of whatever spell is in the slot (like meteor the wand will not move). Also, the relic for the extended spell is obtainable, while the spirit one isn't. In the end its a matter of preference, there are many different ways to win, I just had the most consistent victories with spirit.
@@seraph4986 yeah and I haven't even unlocked all the spells yet! There are some new ones Beelz had in this run I haven't even unlocked yet. I can't wait for the wand slot runes, those will be a game changer for me, make even more ridiculous bs fly everywhere :).
@JordanJohnson-r3f fair enough, spirit is probably stronger, it's probably a byproduct of my end goal being the creation of singular weapons of mass destruction. Just yesterday I got a really cool build where you spawn remote control flame breath with fall, which lets you direct it anywhere on the screen. The wand was consistently reaching 400 thousand dps on its own.
The final worm boss is definitely a big dps check. If you can get the perk that lets you use your wands from distance, then making orbiting boomerangs is very strong. Orbiting flame breath is also strong. The mana absorption spell is also dumb if you can get it to fire every single frame on a wand that gets mana from casting spells or getting hits. My best run so far had me reaching 1.6 million dps from just 1 wand. Even on nightmare 3 the worm didn't stand a chance
Pro tip. The blue orb upgraded to + especially ++ is worth it. Also, my ranking of rooms 1. relics 2. money 3. life. Life will be boosted after the sacrifice room when defeating a boss. In shops I always go for two 30 shields if possible and a double key if under ten keys. Otherwise 30 shield for 13 gold is worth it. The absolute best status effect is fire. Poison unfortunately only becomes good with ++. I have 500+ hours. I love this game. If you want any more tips let me know.
Tip for ya, when actively casting (holding the mouse button down) the wand will charge mana slower compared to not pressing it. So high mana spells are more efficient by clicking. Plus your move speed goes down while casting. I'm on nightmare 3, but have not upgraded all outfits yet so usually the damage falls off around the last area. Need to farm those ancient bloods.
Your last vid got me to buy this game. Only done 3 runs, haven’t won so far BUT I got to the third zone and I’m steadily unlocking npc’s and upgrades, having a great time. Now all I need is a run with Fuse and as many big dumb explosions as possible to live out all my Megumin dreams!
I played this game pretty long time and have a quick tip: duet is REALLY powerful spell. Alot of my builds are based on this! Specially summons and continuous damage! Really big boost for second spell. Also worm is getting destroyed in seconds
7:10 the fire elemental core from one of the first mythic core packs (from the girl you save after defeating the area 3 boss) has a 5% hp burn effect that could be helpful for it. It may be unreliable due to how often you can get it but perhaps that and poison will help
i love how he hypes up the end boss so much but plays in hard mode, though ngl nighmare is insanely difficult and is probably a nightmare to make videos on edit: there is a spell opacity setting in the gameplay section of the pause screen
For those who are stuck at hard or later difficulty, here is how to beat em. Do not sleep on Poison, Cursor Tracking and Charge Mode. Poison. It applies on hit so, pair them with a fast hitting spell like black hole or laser beam. Cursor tracking and charge mode is self-explanatory. Or y'know, assemble the EXODIA(metaphorically). What do the exodia do you ask? With enough money, you can infinitely heal all the damage you take. What is the exodia you ask? Simple. 1 rare spell 1 unique secret spell and 1 epic relic. I won't tell you about the first 2 until the last paragraph of my comment and here's the hint so you can explore the game without spoiler basically. -It has something to do with the statues on stage 2 and the secret spell Is not guarantee so it can take many2 runs until you get it. The epic relic is Prospector's Vest(Restores equivalent HP when picking up coins). . . . . . . . . The rare spell is Meteor, before 1.0 Deceptive Mine is also work but in 1.0 it didn't destroy the statue. Yes statue can drop unique spell and pair with Prospector's Vest, you get yourself THE EXODIA.
I just wish more care was put into the encounters themselves. The amount of health enemies have in later stages drags it out so much. There have been way too many times in this game where i get hit by something and don't feel like i could do anything about it. Really makes me appreciate the enemy design of other games more but i really wanted to enjoy the game. Half of the fun of roguelikes is trying to play out the dumb and under powered builds. If all you ever do is try to cheese them to oblivion it stops being fun real quick. It especially sucks for a game like this that should do it's best to encourage creativity. Another problem that indie roguelikes have is just copying things from other games that did well seemingly without consideration. I don't really see how having waves of enemies for each room benefits this game etc.
@@Curiomerc One of my strongest build by far is mostly crated by common and rare spells. Even the exodia is pale in comparation to it. That wand only have 1 unique spell but what it does is it increase my spell size which I totally didn't need. Near 50k dmg and 3k - 100k poison. Like no joke. "The amount of health enemies have in later stages drags it out so much" I thought so too until I have this build.
@@badcake4915 The game's biggest and arguably only strength is the build creativity. Balancing the game around the most broken builds is counter intuitive. I'm aware that you can break the game, you can do so with most roguelikes. It spearheads you into a select few playstyles that trivialize the game. At that point why would i play this game over other games in the same genre. They've somehow managed to end up with less build variety despite having a trove of options.
Meanwhile the game at 1:04:56 - "You can adjust the spell transparency in (Settings -> Gameplay) if spell effects are too flashy.", the game knows, oh the game *knows* xD
The fight where you lost all that shield highlights my only real complaint with the game, because there are so many cool and powerful wand and spell combos that inevitably end up covering the whole screen and making it impossible to see anything going on. To prevent this the enemies and their attacks really should be set to the top layer so that they sit above your attacks and not the other way around.
Ive been playing magicraft a lot since the first vid, and still got plenty to unlock. I have yet to beat the final boss of area 4, but its super fun when a build gets going
Altho i have absolutely no idea as what is going on, i find it funny that a flying sword cultivator somehow finds a way to infuse the sword with blackhole that is also a rainbow cake of D.O.T
10:40 This is a bad translation. The Silver Compass actually guarantees that there will always be at least one Chest or Statue in *every* room you enter after you take it. And since there's a chance to get a Relic out of any Chest you open, it can be extremely powerful. Edit: 45:30 The last Merlin Relic is his Beard, which only spawns in Red Relic Rooms. 😕
FYI you should have put chain lightning in the first slot so it procs on all your spells, Support spells need to be placed on the left so they effect the spells on the right, IF you placed it on the first slot it would have proced on your swords.
