But or Rent - The Lion King 1½ - • The Lion King 1 1/2
In this comedy-adventure, Timon and Pumbaa reveal where they came from, where they met and how they helped Simba save the Serengeti. Their story includes glimpses into some big events from The Lion King that look a little different from Timon and Pumbaa's perspective - such as when King Mufasa introduced baby Simba to the animal kingdom. Let's just say there was something behind that dramatic moment when all the animals bowed to their new ruler! Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Ernie Sabella and the original voice cast return for this hysterical musical tale - and meet colorful new characters like Timon's Ma (Julie Kavner) and Uncle Max (Jerry Stiller)! With all your favorite characters, the music you love and more, get ready for some king-sized fun with Timon and Pumbaa!

This movie is a comedy goldmine. I love how Timon and Pumbaa affected the story long before Simba met them, and the song _Dig A Tunnel_ is forever stuck in my head. Not that I'd want it to leave.
this movie was made back when writers were good at there jobs
Dig a Tunnah is so catchy it’s stuck in my head too. No complaints. Quick before the hyena comes.
Quick before the Hyena commmmmmmmme
That's explain why Timon is a outcast. Because he's irresponsible. Not just irresponsible. He wants something for his mother and the meerkats where they can be safe and the place to have food for their survival.
Funny enough, this backstory that Timon had, it was originally part of the Hakuna Matata song, but the only part we get is Pumbaa's, which is why we don't get Pumbaa's visual backstory in 1 1/2, because we already saw it in the original Lion King.
I watched this one SO MUCH as a kid. Also loved the little game they had on the dvd
is thet Norway from Hetalia?
I also watched this movie on repeat, such a fun one
Who wants to be a millionaire
This movie has a great organ story of how Timon and Pumbaa met each other for the first time.
"I flinched when I should have scurried" i still quote that to this day
Simba calls Timon and Pumbaa pops as a joke or a tease, even Simba finds it weird to be raised by a meerkat and a warthog
Yeah, as a child, I loved this sequel, not only for laughter and humor, it also has many moving moments and Timon became one of my favs characters, I never imagined that he would have a sad origin, being rejected by his tribe and that's why he decided to leave in search of the place of his dreams.. I also love how the time they raised Simba was, being as well friends also family, it's cute how fond they became of him..
*that "he needs us? so he shouldn't have left us" hit me hard, and it really broke my heart how selfish Timon was being to stay in his paradise, plus his callback claiming: "and what happened with the friends stick together until the end?" but I'm glad for the lesson he learned that: even though he had everything in that paradise without worries, in reality "Hakuna Matata was nothing without friendship" * I really appreciate that moment they gave Timon who bravely made his way to stop the hyenas breaking the last beam of the tunnel, he is also a HERO..In addition to that moving hug that Simba gives to Timon and Pumbaa, thanking them for their help, because without them it would not have been possible, yes, they are the best example of true friendship..It is most satisfying that they also got their happy ending, with Timon together with his friends Pumba and Simba, and also becoming admired by his tribe of meerkats by taking them to that paradise of great life. What makes its ending better is the amazing crossover with various Disney characters also reunited to see the movie again, oh of course yes
One thing about this film is there’s a lot of hidden Mickey’s in the background elements throughout this film. I know because there was a game dedicated to it on the dvd.
Hey, Pumbaa. What do you call a hyena with half a brain 🧠?
Ha ha ha 😂 Beats me, Timon. What?
Gifted 🎁! 😊😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They're talking about us.
For your last meal, you're gonna eat those words. 😃 😊 😂
This movie was my childhood! I so remember regularly watching this on Toon Disney and on the Disney channel during the 2000s as a kid. I also remember watching the Timon and Pumbaa cartoon show too, which was a favorite watch back then.
I can't stop laughing when I see that the animal pyramid fell because Timon hit the base to shut them up; and that he and Pumbaa trying to sabotage the romance between Simba and Nala actually ended up bringing them closer XXXXDDDD
Before, when I hadn't seen the movie yet, I thought that the pyramid fell because yes.
So fun and Nathan Lane, and Ernie a hilarious duo as Timon and Pumbaa, glad Timon got the spotlight adn the Hyenas were the big Villans, Marge as his Jewish ma and Uncle Max, played by the legend Jerry Stiller, man the songs and we saw thier raising of Simba....so cute and glad they got respect in the end, a good Prequel, Midquel too and the animation is beautiful for a Disney direct to video movie and lastly the commentary by the duo was so fun!
Seeing the teaser trailer for this film, I was honestly expecting to see a story about Mufasa and Scar in their younger days. And to my disappointment, it did not happen. Even though I do like TLK 1/2, I still wish it met my initial expectations. And yes, I know that a story of young Mufasa is being made into a live adaptation film, which I am intrigued, but also would’ve preferred a 2D animated feature instead.
I like how, in spite of it being a more comedic film, there's still genuine heart. I buy Timon and Pumbaa's friendship and I absolutely loved seeing more of them just being Simba's dads. The scene where they first let him sleep with them is such a wholesome sequence. And, I'm not sure if this is true, but when Simba says he had a bad dream, I can't help but feel as though it was about Mufasa's death. If that's the case, then that's surprisingly subtle for a direct to video sequels, and I love ones that do that. Other examples of subtlety in Disney's direct to video sequels I can think of can be found in Bambi II and a lot of their Winnie the Pooh films. Scenes like that show that while their time together may have not have been productive, Timon and Pumbaa did more for Simba than just give him misguided advice. And I like how Timon's arc is learning that his idea of Hakuna Matata was misinterpreted. That it's not about not having a care in the world but finding people you genuinely care about that will help you get through your problems. it's a nice bit of character development that I thought was a bit more compelling than just him showing up with Pumbaa the moment Nala tells him Simba needs their help.
One of my favorite reaction videos ever. This was such a vibe lol
This movie was so iconic
The only two characters to get new voice actors are Young Simba (as the original LONG outgrew the role) and Zazu, whose voice actor retired by this point
So glad you reacted to this, this was my childhood, the only lion king movie i ever watched as kid cause that was the only one we owned, it wasnt till i went to my local library and saw there were others, it will always be my favorite though, awesome reaction from Sir Justin, leader of the Galactic Crew!
The hot tub joke was actually meant for the original. The combination of changing times and this being direct to DVD meant they could reuse it for here
Similar to how Lion King was loosely based off of Hamlet, lion king one and a 1/2 is based off of rosencrants and gildenstern are dead, which is about 2 side characters telling The story of Hamlet from their point of view
Even though the original Lion King is more like Sundiata, but since it was given the nickname of "Bamblet", they use "Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead" as the basis for this midquel.
I don’t see Timon and Pumbaa as parental figures to Simba, even though it’s implied in this film. To me, they are friends and/or guardians because that’s how it always was in the first and second film.
Yes, even Simba considered them like his friends
I think it's confusing for some people due to Simba calling Timon 'pops', but that's more about the age gap. It's like an older person calling some kid 'sonny' though they're unrelated.
@@Zer0d00d I think that too because in the french version, he calls Timon " pépé " a word considered as the equivalent of " grandpa "
17:26 So that is the Main Reason why the Whole thing came down!
One of my favorite lion king movies next to the original version
So all the Lion King movies are loosely connected to Shakespeare.
Lion King= Hamlet
Lion King 2= Romeo and Juliet
Lion King 1 1/2= Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, a farcical dark comedy following the lives of 2 hapless background characters from Hamlet
Got to love the lion king franchise
Mufasa
The lion king
Timon are Pumba
Lion king 1½
The lion Guard
Lion King 2
And then there's an original Lion King that came way before the Lion King existed from the 50's it's an anime from Japan called "Kimba the White lion" so amazing worth watching
There's actually 3 Aladdin movies, 3 Little Mermaid movies, and 3 Cinderella movies. Robin Hood is a family favorite! The intro lives rent-free in my head. 😂
I saw Timon and Pumba as the fun uncles for Simba. They were there to show him the ropes as a young cub, but as he grew up, they became close friends.
Also, I think when Simba called Timon "Pops," he was making fun of Timon for being old, not referring to him as a father.
The only anime I can think of that focused on alternate perspectives would be Baccano, a twisted 1930s mobster tale that bounces around something like 40 characters across a dozen episodes. However they bring up the problem with a main character is that the story is inadvertently shaded around them since they're the focus, so to tell the truth of the concerning events you need to consider everybody's point of view, I'm paraphrasing of course. It's a weirdly complex intense short anime you can binge over a weekend, but won't make sense until you watch it again.
JTT (Johnathan Taylor Thomas) was the voice of young cub Simba.
When it comes to the other direct to video films, I’d suggest: the sequel to Aladdin (plus the third), Lady and the Tramp, Lilo and Stitch, Peter Pan, The Rescuers, Cinderella 3 (because the sequel isn’t that good), and that’s all I’ve got for the ones to check out (reaction-wise that is).
I LOVE THIS MOVIEEE i’m always on board for it getting more love because it deserves it. in europe it was called the lion king 3: hakuna matata, but i concede that 1 1/2 is a better name 😂
As Soon As I Heard Timmon Said That I Burst Out Laughing 😂 2:05
You are watching the lion king movie I grew up with the most since a had the dvd❤❤❤❤❤
We know that the movie gets its name because it’s a paraquel (which would be the other half of the original because a paraquel is a hidden fraction of an earlier adventure). Some cultures call this movie “The Lion King 3” which I wouldn’t find appropriate because it doesn’t take place after The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride. However, I do have to say that those who call this movie The Lion King 3 might find it silly that Americans including me call it The Lion King 1 1/2 because they might think that a sequel, prequel, paraquel, midquel, etc. is supposed to have a whole number in its name!
I would love to see you watch the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh:)
Do you plan on reacting to ready player one?
… Has JV not seen Fiddler on the Roof or The Good the Bad & the Ugly? He didn’t comment on either song. And should we recommend either?
And where is “what the 💥 “ from?
So, This is the Lion King 1 1/2 it was called The Lion King 3 “Hakuna Matata” in Canada and Ireland. The 1 1/2 confused the child test groups there.
I love this movie ❤ It never gets old
I still play this game on my Gameboy every now and then :)
I love your videos!!
The tinkerbell movies are good you might like those movies
i love how they tie it in to the origianl movie!!
I mean it was obvious that Timon and Pumba raised Simba since he was a cub till he was an adult
Sometime in the future, may you please watch the movie ‘Fluke’. It’s one of my fave from childhood, it came out in 1995, it’s about a guy that dies and is reincarnated into a dog
Lion King 3 was the European version of Lion King 1 1/2
Ah that's why it's " The Lion King 3 " in France
Excuse me,uncle Max,Timon is wearing a skirt, not a dress, and however he is rocking it,with the flower necklace and the flower on his head!He can sing and dance and he knows how to move his hips,so show him some respect!
Are the shows still coming to RUclips?
33:32 elbow room! Echoes
The international distribution title "Lion King 3" is so patronizing, because they didn't want to confuse audiences with a "1-1/2"
Cue eyeroll...
Plus it defeats the comedic tones they were trying to market
At the end that was simba😂
The Lion King Live Action
Shall we run for our lives?
I recommend 2020 RDJ’s Dr. Dolittle. It’s Dr. Dolittle meets Treasure Island.
“when will disney put same sex parents in their movies properly?” you fools. they already did in 2004 ❤
i would love more though dont get me wrong
Remember when I reccomended that movie called The Bear? When you plan on looking at it?
Disney sequels are notorious for being... not good 😅 but one I personally deem a masterpiece and the best straight to DVD sequel is *Cinderella III: A Twist in Time* 😍 you don't even need to watch the second one to enjoy this film, they kinda ignored its existence. I wouldn't say it's better than the original 1950 Cinderella, but I like it more ✌🏻
Queer parents!! This movie is so gay and I love it ❤️
Love this movie!!!
Does anyone remember buzz lightyear of star command tv series?
i do
You gotta see Alice in wonderland. I think that's the one you didn't recognize.
There was a whole tv show about timon and pumba.
Mufasa is the one who died Sarabi live she was the one that Scar slapped
You should react to the Disney jr. show the Lion guard it’s so good
Hakuna matata Timon & pumbaa
This movie had over 20 Hidden Mickey’s. How many did you guys spot during this reaction?
Just one
I've been watching your videos for some time now. I don't know if you are a fan of Stranger Things or not, but I think you should check it out. I wasn't sure about the show at first, my mom teased me about it for a while and I watched three seasons already and season 5 is in the making now because things are slow right now with the screen writers strikes going on. I wish you luck in your search for what I suggest.
Promise me Jv if you watch sausage party you will pass out laughing on that movie
i think both the lion king 1 2 and i also think the lion king 1 1/2 are great best movies to me i disagree the majority say the lion king 2 and the lion king one of the half was not as good is the oringial the lion king 1 and the lion king 2 sequel because i think the lion king 1 1/2 was the best great movie to me i think it was as good as the the lion king 1 and the lion king 2 in my honest opinion to me i think it wasn't weird to me i didn't mind it if they were a father figure it worked for me i think that is awesome to me my favorite lion king movie is the lion king 1 1/2 it's a 10 out of 10 for me because i love everything about it i also love that it takes place from the oringial the lion king 1 movie but this time in timon and pumbaa perspective i think that was a smart genius idea to me i think it's the best great fun underrated movie i wish more movies and shows did this
You should see Happy Death Day and the sequel Happy Death Day 2U. You won't regret it. I hope you don't mind suggestions every now and then.
Hi bro
Hello
@@JVsGalacticAdventures i from is Russia. I m your fanat
Can you please do a movie reaction to Old Yeller
The one part me like what ad sigma
🤔 you clearly dont seem to comprehend the time and stuff.. imagine you were raised by 2 people for like 20 years... they essentially your parents. what do you think adoption is? they are their new parents. why act odd that its like a parent/son relationship with simba and timon+pumba?
Imagine 2 male outcast bimbos befriending you as a child... are you really gonna turn around and go "Dada and daddy" to the both of them and compare that to a normal adoption?
Simba was not with them for 20 years.. more like 5. And they definitely acted more like his friends, not parents.
But that doesn't take away from them also having to look after the kid.
@@inkeriananas @inkeriananas But if you think about Simba as he was a human being,Timon and Pumba raised him from when he was a child to when he was a teenager or more
Hooray for queer parents Timon and Pumba!
can you react to pokemon the first movie
