Returning To One Of My Local Riding Spots After 11 Years : Preston Group ride

- This ride was planned less than a day in advance, I rang up Tartybikes to order some spokes (wheel build videos incoming) and as I was talking to Ben he mentioned a group of riders that ride the local town every Tuesday (Tuesday Night Trials on Instagram). Being a little bored of Glasgow I'm keen on travelling to different places and ride with more people so I was up for the idea. The only issue was the 6 hour round drive just for a couple of hours of riding.
I decided it was worth it so the next day I set off at 2pm to meet everyone after work at 5pm, this gave us around 3 hours until it gets dark, by the time everyone had arrived (and I fixed a rogue puncture I got whilst waiting) it was 5:30 so we got straight into the riding.
Peston docks was a semi-regular riding spot for me back when I worked at Tartybikes and the last time I rode here was 11 years ago on my brakeless prototype Hex ( • Ali C - Inspired Bicyc... ), the one move I wanted to get was a hook up the big wall, it stands as one of the biggest hooks I've ever done and really wanted it so I felt like I've kept the same level of riding and not regressed...it took a while but I'm stoked I got it (even if it did take up most of my time!).
After doing this hook I got another puncture from the tube poking out of the tear, by the time I got it fixed (thanks for the help guys!) it was too dark for me to ride.
HUGE thanks to everyone who turned up, it was nice to see some new faces but also some I've not seen for 15 years! Also a mega HUGE thanks to Mike, Adam and whoever else helped film, it was really handy!
I'd like to do this kind of thing again but I think I'll make more of a day of it next time and ride before the group arrived to get some more footage.
Thanks a lot for watching!

Its interesting hearing different perspectives on distance and travel time, in the US 3 hours hardly gets you anywhere!
Yeah, my local bike park with lifts is 2.5 hours away lol
I like how the thumbnail shows your back wheel on the edge but we don't know if you landed it! The tension is too much!
Such a tease!
Love it!🔥🔥 some awesome riding. Loved the style of the guy with the extention😯 all in all good to see some streetriding again👌
Awesome seeing the old home town in one of your videos. Keep up the good work
Bruh that look so high 😯😯😯
Pretty much my Pb!
Great stuff- Stay safe everyone.
Thanks Joel :)
Yay! 😁
That was awesome Ali!
Pity about the tyre but sweet you got that hook again! 💪👊
Amazing ride, Ali! So impressive!!!
Loved this video Ali. Incredible riding all round 🙌
This was a great video great job
Stoked for this one as always Ali 💪
Thanks Mel :)
great vibe and great ride Ali!
Amazing videooo, really nice group!
So nice to see a group ride with that many people. I don't even know anyone else who can track stand near me. I guess I'll just have to make trials riders out of my 2 kids so I have someone to ride with. Is that hook somehow easier brakeless? How many hours did it take you 11 years ago?
Great spot. Knew it well as it's on Preston's Guild Wheel cycle loop. If you're desperate you have McD across the road and 'alfords isn't too far away either ;)
Having not ridden trials for about 3 years it was great to get out on a group ride again. Hopefully next time my own bike will be rideable... Same time next week Ali ? :D
Fantastic!!🤩🤪
Nice riding and some great up and coming riders by the looks of things. Just a thought but you'll have to have a look at making your car work for sleeping in!
That hook was huge. Btw, cool GT Avalanche hanging in the background.
It was Wednesday night trials on the UCSC campus for us. Good times!
Would love to see some old retro trials bike s may be you have friends with some special bikes you could show :) amazing vid ali still had to tipe your name to find you hope thay fix it soon have a great night amazing group ride to love it looks like a great day
Sweet!
That guy on the extension bike is good!
Yes he is! I need to film with him again soon
I agree!
@@Ali_Clarkson does he have instagram?
👍👍👍
nice to see cap in there
Ali when u make a frame at home if it is good you should try to make a full suspension trials bike
Just looking at the bike rack in the intro... When are we gonna see BMX Ali?!
That’s not mine BUT maybe I have something else planned ;)
@@Ali_Clarkson that may explain the 20' Light Bicycle rims...
It's his fiance's bike
@@Ali_Clarkson I actually bought one of your previous BMX's (possibly your last?) off of you on Trials-Forum many years ago, it was a black WeThePeople Primate with Chrome rims, a gyro, a bash ring and clear pads 😅
holy shit that dude in blue shirt can jump real high!
Shout out to my fellow Preston people's
#thebest
Missed this due to work
I saw u on union street trying to jump up the wall of bank of Scotland. Did u ever get that jump? I had to leave before I could see
4:50 What bike is that? The carbon forks really caught my eye.
I forgot to feed the algorithm!
weirdly enough I'm early
Let's make it to 3K likes for 3h of driving, so there won't be any punctures even on better trips. 😍♥️
and i cant jump up on a log
Same! hmm- what is the minimum size that is still a log? LOL
I heard Tarty Adam behind the camera no?
Stalker ;-)
first
bet u wont pin this🤣
