@@katrinapoly i would LOVE to attend an arab wedding one day. i used to work indian weddings constantly when i worked with horses and they were my absolute favorite thing to do. i worked on a ranch so we would let people use our white horse for indian weddings bc she was very well behaved - for anyone not aware, it’s tradition in an indian wedding for the groom to ride a white horse to meet his bride. it’s basically their version of walking down the aisle - plus she always got lots of apple slices and other approved treats from all the little indian aunties and uncles. every single wedding, the guests treated my fellow ranch hands and myself like we were just as much guests as anyone else. our bosslady had initially told us to try and stay out of the way because we were employees, not guests, but i think us quietly standing off to the side was honestly insulting because some of the guests started INSISTING we come get food and join them in the festivities and everything. i’ve also never been paid better than when i worked indian weddings - they would tip us in whole $20 bills, it was INSANE. without fail, MENA and SEA people are some of the kindest, most selfless humans i’ve ever met. the only time they’re ever scary is if you try to pay for your own food in their presence and that’s not a joke 😂
