Wow! This was posted in 2015 and I'm only seeing it now in 2022. I must have been living under a rock. Well done young lady, you sang it with your heart, mind and soul. Congratulations really proud of you. And by the way my full name is Vulindlela.
i love it and proud of this lady, we Africans learned English to accommodate English speaking people so to see a white person making the initiative to learn our languages and even sing in them is super...i so wish we had more white people like you...
Thank you Mbali, i wish i had time to learn all 11 languages , ha ha but even my english sounds very afrikaans. but as i listen to the radio everyday i try to pick up on what they say, but joh to speak is not so easy as to learn in a song
You are lost in your own little world. They brought English to you by force. They came to live in our lands by force, and you are actually happy with them using your language and stealing from to get rich?? You are very stupid.
First, to all the racists here leaving bad and dumb words, you are part of the problem and not the solution. This goes both ways. I am Swiss, but end of the 90s, I remember a night in a village in western Congo. We only had a fire and an old ghetto blaster on batteries with a tape from Brenda, dancing all night away. Unforgettable and I love Africa!
This is really an awesome version of Ma Brrr's Vulindlela. I saw the music video by chance this morning on SABC2 as I was going through the TV channels. Music truly is the universal language that everyone understands. Thank you Z for doing something different and breaking some barriers and boundaries. Keep doing what you're doing. God Bless.
What a song!!! Thank you Zandre!! Nevermind negative people...this is what make South Africans unique.....Love this song in your unique way....heh...great song!! well done!
Oh my God I just listened to this for the second time mntase you are so good...Africa is so blessed you have nice voice.this is lovely cant stop smiling
you rock girl !!! you just make me proud ! don't take the negative comments to heart , take them as a motivation and show these negative people that you can do it ... There's no master of pronunciation. keep doing what your doing and do you . don't let people's silly comments change you and drive you away from what your doing. God blessed you with this talent , so use it to the best level and let it shine.
giiiiirl now come back and teach us some of that hard language! you look beautiful doing it and I can see you just love it and the people around you loved doing this video too! keep spreading the loooove!💖
Pave the way miss gossip,my baby boy is getting married . pave the way please don't be jealous my boy is getting married.I would never thought I'll have a daughter in law.people say my boy don't woo women he doesn't have a woman but he has being accepted this time (woman said yes) come join me in the ceremony .....
Me gustó mucho este video aunque no entiendo el idioma siento las sensaciones qué produce la música porque soy músico y me encanta la música africana qué viva Africa
Okay, so first I thought I’ll just leave all the comments as is and not reply to every bad thing that will come my way, because obviously when I started this project I knew there’s going to be a lot of people that will bash this whole idea. That being said, I really do enjoy everything about African languages and the cultural journey has just been amazing. I’ve learned so much and met so many wonderful and beautiful people, that I just can’t give up now. Vulindlela was the very first song that I recorded in an African language. And I worked with so many people on the pronunciation and mostly I found that all the ladies accents was different so the same word would sound different if you have 8 different people say it. I might not have done it perfectly, but at least I am trying and I really did not jump into the studio and sang what I thought was correct. I am working very hard on saying everything correctly because the last thing I wanted to do was come over disrespectful. And then yes, I went to Stellenberg and I took isiXhosa in primary school and high school. That was where my love for languages start. For someone that did not grow up with these languages (and now I mean all the languages that I’m currently singing in Xhosa, Shona, Zulu and Sotho ) its very hard to speak the language fluently. Just as someone that grew up with no Afrikaans in their house would probably not understand a word that I say because I speak very fast and in a very flat Capetonian accent. But I do respect all the opinions and comment and I really do try my best to learn the languages because Im singing in so many ,so which one do I learn first, and it the end it’s about the bigger picture and to make a difference and show people that music can bring people together. But as I said I do understand if you don’t like it and this is an open platform to express what you feel , I know from my side I’m doing this with a pure heart and I wish I could have spoken all 11 African languages as well and fast as I speak Afrikaans. It would have sure made Life a lot easier. Lots of love and gratefulness to those who believe in me and who spends time with me trying to perfect my pronunciation and having fun with me and laughing with me when I really do struggle with the words and actually bash myself . But so I am laughing with all my African friends that’s now learning Afrikaans for the first time. Not one of us is perfect but the people that know me and know my heart respects that I am trying to sing their language even if I still make mistakes Practice makes perfect they say xxx

You are amazing, don't stop what you are doing, you are an inspiration to a lot of people out there :) don't let them get to you, people will always have something negative to say, you have a beautiful voice... you took your time to practis these lyrics and you put in a lot of effort, Xhosa is not an easy language, I'm xhosa my self and I find it very difficult. I must tell you that I'm proud and very impressed with the amazing person that you are. I really liked your replies to those negative people. You are a true star :) Keep it up. I will try to find your album and listen to it, I am also a big fan of Miriam Makeba, so the first song I will listen is the click song them pata pata .
Wow. You learnt someone's culture. Your video is even explaining the song. Thank you for making a difference. Hope you can tell you whites people too that Africa is not only about terrorism, bad governance, petrol, and forest exploitation. There are rich cultures there
