after many years of avoiding public transport and only using my own car I now got back to public transport and have to say that I find it a much more enjoyable experience, especially when to comparing it with using a car in and around Munich. a lot of people love to complain, but in reality the S-Bahn, U-Bahn and Busses in the MVV are very reliable. some think the MVV is as bad as the DB but that's just not the case.
Well, the S1 at least is horrible and every conplaint is justified. Stammstrecke is closed way to many times and dont get me started on the gdl streiks. Im gonna switch to a motorcycle its not worth the 49 Euro Ticket. Im only talking about the Sbahn, everything else is ok.
Looks like most underground stations of the 1. Stammstrecke are getting renovated at the time of filming? And how are the construction works for the 2. Stammstrecke getting along? Nice video.
The fancy interior you see at 3:33 (in 20 years old trains) is actually funded by the state of Bavaria. No its is not common in Germany that the states have to fund such things. Its just that the south (and Bavaria in particular) has to fund everything in the north (and Berlin in particular) for absolutely nothing in return. Except for arificially made problems of course.
The myth that Bavaria funds other parts of Germany is back. Mind if I tell you that hasn't been the case for decades now? And who is paying for the 2. Stammstrecke in Munich?
I'm amazed at how fast these trains accelerate and stop. They do just as well (if not better) than most metro trains.

Yeah it's ongoing at the moment. So about 2030 it might be opened. And yes the stations of the S-Bahn 1. Stammstrecke were all renovated.
