Hey baker. Have you ever tried using large heat shrink tubing for the bill rather than taping it? It's a really cool and quick way to create a nice sharp masking on bills! It's my go to method. Cheers and thanks for the videos dude! Your new shop looks awesome by the way!

Do I need to use gesso as my base coat? Or can I just use white paint? The reason I ask is because I saw another RUclips say they use gesso as their base coat and I'm just getting into painting lures, so I don't know.
Rubbing alcohol has been hard to find the past few months. I looked for 2 months and the first place I found some was Dollar General about a month ago. I bought like 7 bottles that day then a few more
Just curious why not use 95% denatured alcohol? It dries completely and leaves zero residue like rubbing alcohol does. I use to own a archery shop and builtalumiumn and Carbon archery arrows and the 95% denatured was a great assest and made paints, wraps and glues stick fantastic and didn't affect carbon based items. Just curious... Great videos, can't wait to get to North Dakota and start making baits for bass, walleyes and pike and Muskies.
Out of curiosity, after prepping what primer/sealer do you put down? Is it just an Opaque White? What would you use if you want the bait to be transparent
I started using KBS for my clear coat and for some reason the bills sometimes have a rough feel to them. Even with prep work. Am I doing something wrong?
Yeah, I used to use tape now I moved to a liquid mask it works very well and theres no scraping paint and save money on tape it took 6 inches of tape per bait .30 cent, green earth stuff co. And black loogoon sell liquid mask.

Thanks much for the prep tips... I haven't thought about wiping with alcohol to make sure the baits are clean of oils before painting.👍

I wash mine in some Dawn water mix, also to check for bad lures. That's the last time ungloved hands touch till after epoxy
