An Olesya fan from America here. I got hooked after watching her version of rose adagio in Sleeping Beauty. She is exquisite in everything she dances! The subtlety of dancing is what draws me in...the flicks of her wrists at the perfect moment and her balance (watch her rose adagio) is unparalleled. The sheer joy in her face when she dances is perfection--she becomes the role. She's a national treasure!

Karen I saw her last week live at Mariinsky in SPG for the first time. I am happy because the Russian people love her. She received soo many flowers 💐 after the performance. (It wasn’t opening night, no 😅) The lady who sat next to me came from Moscow only to see Olesya dance, and went back by night train right after the performance.
I got the impression that Olesya is far more popular in Saint Petersburg than her fellow dancers

Karen Lommez make up no.. she has three children and her family in Saint Petersburg, her husband is Principal at Mihailovsky theatre, the other big stage in SPG... and I guess it’s not easy to move away with family. And she’s 36 already. She seems happy with her live... prima is just a title, after all. She travels the world and dances with the best male partners, and everyone knows how great she is. Maybe that’s enough for her
Mathilde Wesendonck yes, i truly understand What you mean. But im very sad about how mariinsky treats olesya. She is by far better Than some mariinsky primas. She is pure beauty. And she deserves more than anyone this title. Sorry about me english

Exquisite. Novikova is my absolute favourite ballerina for her all around superlative artistry. Everything she does is breathtaking to me but I especially appreciate her in Swan Lake, Raymonda and Giselle. I was Russian trained in the 1960's before it was popular in the west ~ until the incomparable Nureyev arrived ~ and I believe the Russians own ballet. It doesn't hurt that their greatest 19th and 20th century composers wrote for the ballet repertoire. It is high time she is recognized by the Mariinsky for her Prima status confirming what the rest of us already knew to be true.
By far my favorite ballerina now!!!

I love Philipp Stepin, best Prince, class, elegance,lots of charisma, the perfect prince for also the great Novikova. my attention goes a lot to him, usually one focuses much More on the balerinas.
