So, in Japan the show Spectreman was called Gori the Space Ape? That’s wild! Gori was largely considered the villain over here. It’s like finding out the Superman comic book was originally called Lex Luthor.
So this series went through three titles! - Gori the Space Ape (episodes 1 to 20) - Space Ape Gori Vs Spectreman (episodes 21 to 39) - Spectreman (episodes 40 to 63) These changes followed the evolution of the story, which initially centered on Gori and pollution, but then slowly shifted to a traditional hero Vs giant monster theme.
As far as I can remember, the Ape was actually concerned with the pollution on earth. He was rather radical, but he may have been the hero of the show.

One of my favorite 70's series. And even this series was so good that it was very frustrating what they did with Fuun, which was very weak compared to the original and very confusing at certain moments, unfortunately this type of audacity to take the setting out of the commonplace of contemporary Japan no longer happens. , so King-Ohger was a pleasant surprise in that sense
This white Lionman was a great show, very beautifully shot. The story is intriguing, the hero is captivanting and bold, and the fights are well choreographed. The orange Lionman is also good, but the series was shortened due to low ratings, compromising the script.
Yay! More love for P-Pro! I really liked the period-based series from Akakage, through the 2 Lion Maru and to Shiro Jishi Kamen (my favorite of them all).
Oh man especially interested because I believe Yoshiki Takaya creator of a favorite manga of mine Guyver cited this as a bit of a thematic inspiration or part of it.
Your video is really cool! In Brazil, it was Lion Man (orange) who first came out on the now-defunct "TV Manchete" in 1989. In 1990, Lion Man (white) was shown incompletely. I had no idea that the main actor had broken his leg during filming!
@JapanHero well each issue was reminiscent of each of their respective TV shows (though the art for Tiger 7 didn't seem more authentic - manga-based - in regards to the story)... Hyōman was the wild card of the mini-series, considering that his show never materialized other than a test pilot episode under a different name. And the last issue starring Spectreman seems to have been a reboot than what was done in 1971 with an interesting cliffhanger.
Excuse me i want a request can you made a special video which was a list of Tokusatsu movies and series in history from 1920s (i think) to 2024 even though it'll be long
Don't be fooled by the trashy appearance of the characters: in Lion Man, the stories are very dramatic, innocent people die, the villains are cruel and the protagonists suffer a lot to defeat them. These tokusatsus from P-Productions from the 70s are excellent!
1000%! The dramatic presentation of the story in each episode, plus the accuracy they went for in depicting the setting and in-show conflicts, were excellent.
Sure. One of the best tokusastus episodes of all time in my opinion is one featured in the orange Lion Man series, on which the hero unsuspectedly killed the father of a kid who in response swears vengeance on him. That's one of the most emotional live action episodes of any media I've ever seen.
For years I thought this show was some fever dream I had when I was little! Thank you for proving that I'm not insane!!
Thank you for watching!

This channel is cool 😎😎
Its neat to learn about other shows that are in the genre of tokusatsu
Thank you very much!
Yay! More P Productions stuff is always welcome :)
Their programs are so much fun to watch! 😀
16:28 I bought myself that comic after watching the only English dub of Kaiketsu Lion-Maru on RUclips.
That's a good reminder that I need to pick up this series! I look forward to hearing what you thought.

Absolutely! That one has been on our list for a while, but we will get to it eventually.
Dude it's been a while where you been
Was unexpectedly busy with some projects these past few months, but those are all wrapped up, and we're now back in action here! Glad to be back!

When are you gonna review campus special investigator hikaruon one day?
No plans for that one at this time, unfortunately.
Well that's sad
