Seems like that should work just fine. I just got back from the Ocala National Forest. 250 hammock campers... 29 degrees..... oh my! You would've loved it. So many DIY projects and mods and very cool people. The event was called "Hangcon".
Thanks for yet another interesting video. Not sure about the Mylar, it's a barrier material so may cause condensation and be quite noisy... but only one way to find out!
Good idea man, way to make it just that little more :). I started using my onetigris underquilt when i got it around 2 years ago, and its a -5c rating. I have had it in those temps and it works well. Good project and should help a fair bit. ATB Man.
Hey Bill. Neat idea! You probably have forgotten, but a few years ago, you actually gave me a swatch of the same material, two layers and with mylar already sandwiched in the middle! I'm going to use that with this idea. Looks good.
Great idea Bill! curious how it worked out. I too use snugpak equipment, and have taken mine down to right in the upper teens. faired pretty well, but always looking to get some more info on some good mods and such. Love this idea of yours. Like Bluegrass, I'm curious to see the tests!
I do remember watching this, but at that time I had not tried the underquilt yet. I thought this was a very cool mod...it has a new meaning to me now having tried the underquilt. I was wondering, How has the added insulation been holding in place? Did you ever try the mylar? Thanks again Billy Joe for an awesome mod and also for reminding me of it.
That is a Cool idea for keeping Warmer. Thanks alot Billy Joe.
thanks danny, ill be testing soon ..

Great video. It will feel better when it’s cold for sure. 👍👍
Adding the zipper is shear brilliance!
thanks brother..

Very nice diy mod. No stitch, no adhesive needed once you put that zipper on.
this was a easy mod that the added zipper is key for adding layers of insulation . tanks tim
take care my friend.

Awesome idea Bill. Thanks for sharing ...ken

hey chris , it sounds like i missed a fine gathering .. it would have been cool to hang with like minded people.

Looks like a great idea.. Mylar may be hard to keep in place. Thank you for the video, Bill
yes it would hard to keep the mylar in place , ill give this layer a test run first.
ita so easy to change , that adding layers would be easy .

Excellent idea Bill it should work great.
thanks kirk, I'm looking forward to testing ..

Awesome idea, leave it to you my friend
Cool Mod, I have not added a under quilt yet, I like this added insulation. This makes for a good excuse to go to the woods!!
you would like the warmth of a under quilt lee, way easier then layers inside the hammock.

I might have to give this a try. I have a few of those Cosco 15$ down blankets and may have to use one of those.
i thought about the cosco as a layer .you should give it a try for a layer , i would be interested in seeing a vid..
take care.

neat idea and should work out fine but as Bluegrass said maybe 2 tests, I would think the mylar would make it even warmer
i do agree that the mylar could be a great heat reflector layer for the under quilt..
