So the only way to fill up the 4 gallon is by taking it off the mount? That’s such a deal breaker.

I had been running a 13gallon roof rack tank from Ironman for a while and decided to switch it up to the 8 gallon Rain Basin (I sold my bed rack, tent, rotox pax and etc) I'm not using their pump though. I will use gravity or a separate pump I already have that's not dual purpose than the faux pressure washer they sell.

I bought the 8 gallon and have used it only to clean our mtn. bikes (still haven’t camped with it yet). So far so good.

I’ve had mine for about a year now and it’s been mounted for most of that time.
Recently, I noticed some water stain under the big cap when I was trying to wash my truck.
It was from the tank leaking all this time.
I spoke to Colin who owned the company, and he told me to cut and make sure the cap area was flat.
I did what I could and it still leaks…
As of now it still leaks, he told me to try to cut again and the spot won’t come off the truck unless I get some remover for it.
I’ve tested the tank and it leaks in all orientation where the large cap is at the bottom.
So…I’m actually looking into getting a WaterPort or even the new rinse kit cube.

the rain flare is a game changer. Not having to pressurize the tank also prevents it cracking too over time.

Definitely not a water port killer. It definitely is a better option for side mounting for your setup tho.

Curious your reasons you’d still choose the waterport ?

@@NemesisDigitalMedia I guess my reasoning is bias. In my setup I have my weekender 8 gallon on my roof rack and am utilizing the only space I have available which is in between my 2 cargo cases. For my setup, I need the long and narrow footprint. I also have a leer 100xr with winddoors and cannot utilize side mounting. Also water port has a great military/first responder discount program

@@ChasingTheAdventureOutdoors that makes sense! The rotopax style container could be a big limiting factor vs the weekender mounting options

For some reason your response isnt showing up, what is your reasoning for not being a waterport killer? I purposefully chose this over the waterport to limit my roof mounting. (already running kayaks and a Thule, plus a hi lift on the roof rack)
