I was thinking the same thing. All the cars have big screens and ambient light, I don’t see the premium of this car vs many of the other newer more main stream cars.
The demand for more and excessively large screens today is getting absolutely, asinine. A 12 inch for the dash and a 12 inch for the infotainment is MORE than enough, so the passenger does not need a separate screen for their Porn Hub viewing, purposes. On another note, what's the minimal screen size going to be in 2030? 36 inch wrap around for a Sentra? This shit is getting ridiculous and unnecessary.

Ive heard MB build quality has declined significantly over past years, well below that of Audi and BMW. Unfortunate for the brand that tends to cost more than other equivalent German competitors.
They took all that money for quality and pumped it into their EQ range of cars. BMW used the same cars for both electric and internal combustion engines which was a very clever thing to do
The E-class has always been German-built and has had consistent quality levels that are well above that of the GLE or the other models that are FAR more numerous than the E-Class. Unfortunately, the US-built GLE/GLS and the Mexican built GLB/GLA are FAR more numerous than premium products like the E-class, and skew the overall numbers negatively.
@@OBrandt-i5c no wonder their quality as a whole went downhill, SUVs/crossovers are all everyone buys these days in the US. I didnt know most models arent built in Germany anymore. Good to know…

Considered a 2020 E450 Coupe when I bought my last car and way preferred that one's interior to the interior on this. These car makers are out of control with their screens in lieu of switchgear. And piano black? Way too much of that here.
I just don't get it with automotive designers these days. While BMW has gone to town with weird cuts, angles and offensive grilles, MB has gone all blobby and swoopy. Every MB car is a just one swoopy blob of an abomination. Those headlights look like it has inverted eyebrows. Let's not forget, MBs build quality - panels squeak and rattle. And interior with all the ambient lights look like a gaudy night club. Sorry I don't mean to be all negative but as someone who loves cars and used to be a big AMG fan, I'm just bemoaning the state of the automobile and designs in general.
@@dynamicremakes5592 It’s ok that you make exaggerated statements like that to support your opinionated views (subjective). However, the new 5 stands out as gaudy and different enough to be a stately executive sedan.
It literally does not. Hard pack plastic on the inside and outside of your lower door area is literally the most bareback introduction into the difference btwn that and the new E Class. BMW messed up. They definitely didn't expect Merc to lean into S Class quality as much as they did this generation.
These speak to me, however I'm getting closer to 71k money , so there is a major disconnect with what the dealers have on their lots, black or white e350 for 80+grand to the online build e450 72k dollars in the color i line, wheels i like. very frustrating to say the least. Have even seen some over 90k bucks. So ya, like the car but hate the buying experience. Maybe 2025 is better year to grab a CPO e450 with 10-1k miles.
As someone who loves fully digital instrument clusters and big navigation screens, even I think these new Mercedes interiors are far too much screen. It makes the passenger side of the dash look cheap, and since the capabilities of a built-in screen will never match a standalone phone or tablet, the passenger side screen will quickly become functionally outdated.
Eh. It’s a pretty car for sure and I love a high end sedan and great tech, but that whole front display is just too much - too many screens too many settings too many buttons. It’s lovely but like with many things learning to not add more and more just because you can is important. And 90k- wow.
How come these lights are pulsing? How come I can see the screen from this side? Get off my lawn. Lined rear door pockets 👍. Rear seat legroom & cramped headroom looks like what I’d expect in a c class interior. I’d gladly trade the passenger screen for rear shades and a separate rear climate zone. I’m a fan of the blue exterior and light interior. The center screen looks compressed which is surprising to me since this is the super screen. It’s very understated and handsome but I wouldn’t call it attractive.
I wouldn't comment on safety regulations when you know absolutely nothing about them and the AMG models have never launched at the same time at the base models.
In general I am a fan of Mercedes. However I think the dash looks ridiculous with the extra screen in front of the passenger. It's overkill and not classy. You have that MASSSIVE screen in the center. Also at that price point, it's shouldn't have so many options missing. That's so greedy!
TBH there's a lot that new, especially luxury, vehicles are doing that I question the safety on. Party lights in your face, watching your passenger's Netflix, no rearview mirror, deleting turn signal stalks.....
Yesh ,,,,not fan of anything this car offers ! MB has dropped in style , quality and design ! No way would I have this on my lux short list ! Good review though as always !
In my 2-year-old 3500 Sprinter Van. I get an "Active Distance Assist Inoperative" message, and it will not allow me to put the van in gear. This happened after only a couple of trips, making Mercedes-Benz too unreliable to drive.
Putting essential functions on distracting screens and the use of black shiny fingerprint magnet plastic must go! Just about every review of any new vehicle that features these tings complains about both. Nice powertrain, but I can't get on board with all of the doo dads. Pulsating lighting tied to the entertainment system? Give me a break.
May as well age a few years and get the S. Then, dump it in the 5-6 year mark before expensive repairs start. Any knowledgeable lux car buyer is well aware of the reliability and depreciation. I'll wait to see what the new Lexus ES350 brings before I decide.
The exterior isn't that bad at all, it's the interior with all those screens!! bleh really - there is no more elegance like the previous version. Worth more like $65-$70K
The exterior looks too similar to the C class.. build quality and reliability are worse than ever, price is extremely high, and too many screens!! BMW and Audi while making not quite as good looking cars as they used to are much better in terms of build quality, and in some cases, much much better in reliability
There is absolutely no similarity between this and c class in the exterior not even the s class. I find these comments ridiculous. Bmw and audi can never match mercedes in terms of reliability and quality.
Wait till you see one on the road, I confused it for an S class because of how similar they look at the rear. You can automatically notice a difference once you pay attention to the size. The C class is significantly smaller.

I’d just tint her out real nice instead of buying the rear sunshade
Check your seat settings
I just don't get it with automotive designers these days. While BMW has gone to town with weird cuts, angles and offensive grilles, MB has gone all blobby and swoopy. Every MB car is a just one swoopy blob of an abomination. Those headlights look like it has inverted eyebrows. Let's not forget, MBs build quality - panels squeak and rattle. And interior with all the ambient lights look like a gaudy night club. Sorry I don't mean to be all negative but as someone who loves cars and used to be a big AMG fan, I'm just bemoaning the state of the automobile and designs in general.
14:23 No. my grandfather has a 2023 and it’s only wired
19:54 that rear sunshade looks like it’ll be an issue
The new 5 series has a much better interior; quality, visually, ergonomically and über-tactility.
R u kidding? The new 5 series is not any better then an 2024 accord touring with an upgraded engine 😂literally the worse 5 series gen
The new generation looks 🤢
You can get this for 30K in 3-4 years. Lexus shits on this in the long run
You can’t afford it so you wait 4 yrs. Let those of us who can buy it enjoy ourselves
Remember the old Mazda 929's? That's what the exterior styling reminds me of. A little sterile, I agree.
Who are you talking to 😅
I wouldn't comment on safety regulations when you know absolutely nothing about them and the AMG models have never launched at the same time at the base models.
The car has to be moving for the privacy screen to turn on
The wheels on this car are not 21 inches, they’re 20 inch wheels. The 21 inch wheels are all black. 23:49
Luckily you aren't the safety czar or we would still be dealing with buttons!
@@cbotten106 Y-yes? I love buttons. Having to hunt thru infotainment screens is annoying and also yes, much less safe.
E Long version is awesome in asia
Put a clock in the center not a cam😂
While the front end looks very classy, I'm not a fan of the rear. Looks super weird to me.
Yesh ,,,,not fan of anything this car offers ! MB has dropped in style , quality and design ! No way would I have this on my lux short list ! Good review though as always !
Almost $90k and fake exhaust tips. No thanks. Too bad because it’s a beautiful and high tech car.
Anyone who finds anything ostentatious about a Mercedes should stick to their Ford Taurus lifestyle.
This seems like a car for people over 40
That’s literally the demographic they go for, those who can afford a car like this.
Mercedes interiors have become so tacky.
They look like a shiny, glowing neon Karaoke Bar.
In my 2-year-old 3500 Sprinter Van. I get an "Active Distance Assist Inoperative" message, and it will not allow me to put the van in gear. This happened after only a couple of trips, making Mercedes-Benz too unreliable to drive.
I believe the Sprinter vans are not made by MB, but by freightliner.
Not a fan…beautiful but not for me. Everything extra as usual. Thanks for the review
Ok ….its a six cylinder with eco-boost and it’s NOT a AMG…and it’s called “E450”….and has E350 and C350 characteristics?? What is Mercedes thinking?
Putting essential functions on distracting screens and the use of black shiny fingerprint magnet plastic must go! Just about every review of any new vehicle that features these tings complains about both. Nice powertrain, but I can't get on board with all of the doo dads. Pulsating lighting tied to the entertainment system? Give me a break.
May as well age a few years and get the S. Then, dump it in the 5-6 year mark before expensive repairs start. Any knowledgeable lux car buyer is well aware of the reliability and depreciation. I'll wait to see what the new Lexus ES350 brings before I decide.
I hate these complex powertrains
Don’t old people buy these? Wouldn’t they be turned off by those screens lol
$90,000?!!😒 no rear sunshades and climate controls for the rear passengers...whewww 😅
The E looks too much like the C looks too much like the S. I've been saying that for years. It's like S/M/L ordering at the soda fountain.
No Mercedes star on the hood with nicer front and grill - no thanks. And those taillights are hideous.
