Well done Leonard. I thought I saw you on the day and wanted to say hello but wasn't 100% sure it was you. The views and descent around Chapmans peak were spectacular! It was a terrific route and the best organized event I think I've ever done, a real tribute to South Africa and the organizers. Chapeaux!
Your thrill and excitement at making the Cape Town ride are palpable in this video. And they're contagious. May I offer my sincerest congratulations to your realizing a long-held dream. Well done, sir! Well done!
Congradulations !!!, What an incredable ride Leonard ...Just amazing ride and scenery and ssuch a nice route and road. You are an absolute inspiration to all of us averge everyday cyclists. GOOD FOR YOU !!! WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT !!!. Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us. Thanks Again and God Bless
You are an inspiration to many cyclists! You don't have the classic cycling physic of which I'm one but you love it and I find it infectious. I'd stopped cycling for a year and have piled on the pounds but watched your video and tomorrow I'm going to cycle again!
This is inspirational. Your joy is palpable. The cheering people along the way seem to propel everyone along. Best line, “The last kilometer of pain.” Congratulations!
Wow! you made it to cape town. My home town. You are my inspiration for doing this ride, four years running . your climbing videos are such an inspiration still cant believe youre riding my roads.. i did 4.21 this year
Well done Leonard. As a large gent myself (6'3"and 120kgs) and almost 73 years old I really enjoyed that you enjoyed the Cape Cycle Tour. I know every meter of the ride as I have done it 28 times. Hope you are able to come back and do it again.Keith Gales🚴
Well done Leonard what a great video. lovely scenery and great crowds to spur you on and such diversity of cyclists....chapeau! glad you enjoyed it. 👏👏
Glad you enjoyed! I live in CT and have done it 9 times. But I get to cycle most of that route on a regular basis. One never tires of it. This year I did it on a tandem with my 11 year old son. It was a very special experience and he had the time of his life :)
Firstly, congrats on completing the ride chapeau sir, what an incredible event, to shut off an entire peninsula for it and to see many different people on many different bikes just loving it. The scenery is just outstanding. Thank you for sharing with us 😊...
I remember cycling Chapmans peak as part of a 2 week cycling trip to South Africa. I went in 2022 and our group was one of the first tourists let back into the country since covid, Boy was they pleased to see us and made us all very welcome. Its a awesome country especially loved the long wide roads cycling from Cape town along the coast.
Well done Leonard, thanks for sharing your experience. You gave me a different perspective on the race as I’m in the earlier bunches where no one stops at the refreshment stations. You’ve demonstrated the “fun” part of the CTCT, thanks mate.
Wow! That's a LOT of cyclists and no traffic, heavenly. 😊 It appears there was pretty nice weather too. You obviously had a wonderful time. Congratulations on a great ride and finish. 👏
Wow, wow, wow, absolutely stunning scenery, you looked super happy along the route, and the crowds cheering you all on. Great atmosphere and a once in a lifetime chance. Creating some fantastic memories ❤
Well done. Hope you enjoyed the CTCT. Suikerbos was a just a mole hill for you. Thank you for sharing your experience with the world. Come back again. From OT, South Africa 🇿🇦
What an awesome cycle ride. I've driven around that cape peninsula but to see you riding it was epic and has inspired me to do it! Could you share more about your prep, travel plans, did you take your bike with you and pre-event riding in cape town. Also what other rides do you have on your bucket list? Thanks
Super Proud of You. It is simply amazing to watch all the riders. I'm going to share this with friends in the cycling clubs around El Paso, TX. and ask if any have heard of it. It was simply fascinating to watch.
Congratulations,it’s amazing how the thrill and excitement of the event can spur you on,the whole event looked fantastic. We all knew you would compete, well deserved.
Awesome. You've got my interest now! The South African Tourist Board should pay you royalties - now that I've seen your vlog, I want to do this event next year! And well done Leonardo on a great ride! Chapeau 🥰
Mr Lee, has graduated to a true cyclist. Love it. I’m just hitting the road again. Coming off an injury. I should be 50 April and join the “Big Man’s” club.
I spend some time in SA - lovely country, beautiful, people so nice - Cape Town probably the nicest overall but not only this one. Leonard, you are really ENJOYING the life - I am so happy for you!
@@jollygoodvelo If it weren't for the 30 hr's travelling time from Vancouver, not counting the time airport time before and after landing, I likely would have joined you. But, that's a lot for 1 week. However, if you decide to do it again, I may just join.
One of the great things about the event is the little touches - so for example they individualise your ride body number with the number of tours you have done for example. Ride it next year and you will have learnt the course and go sub 5. Hopefully number 3 for me next year - I Managed a 3.14 ride but want that exclusive sub 3!
Well done for capturing the experience and spirit of such an epic ride in one of your best ever videos. It was a great pleasure for us to have ridden with you during the week in SA. I couldn't keep up with you on the day, but got round in a short enough time to get a medal! Thanks to you, Ingo, Wendy and all of our friends for making this a special trip.
you really rocked that ride. what a great sportive. there is nothing like riding in a foreign country. you have a real passion for cycling. loved it. good on you
Huge congrats Leonard. Thanks for giving this coverage to our city. I must say it looked less crowded than I heard it had become (the ride). Glad the weather was mostly in your favour this year too. A few years ago it had to be called off because the wind was too strong. Hope we see you back here soon.
Nice video, well done. Good inspiration for me to try again next year. It was my first major cycle race attempt. Found the wind brutal and missed the Redhill cutoff.
So pleased for you, Leonard. Its wonderful when a dream is realised and all credit to you for building up the channel to this level. I've been watching the channel for a few years now. If ever you pass through Abu Dhabi or Dubai, drop me a message, and I can show you the burgeoning cycling scene here ( but best in UK winter when temps here are perfect).
Nice video Leonard. You captures the spirit of CTCT perfectly 😊 I rode the CTCT for the second time, coming from the Netherlands. Chapeaux!
You should have come up and said hello. Yes, Chapman’s Peak was very impressive. Shame about the wind in the descent, though.
Well Done! I am a 75 year old Canadian and rode my 21st on the same day.
Thank you Leonard for showcasing our Beautiful CAPE TOWN
