It's a good thing they called the game Red Alarm. It would have been an ironic problem if they would have called it Green Alarm or Blue Alarm. Well I guess they could have called it Black Alarm.
NTSC Virtual Boy complete in box aren't too easy to find, plus they are very wanted making them quite pricey. I've had mine for a while so I'm not up to date on current prices
It is the US version but it isn't "NTSC." There is no way to simply connect it to an NTSC-format display. He quit in shame, which is very different than being "laid off." I bought mine on clearance from Wal-Mart for $30. The free battery offer was already expired but I sent off for them anyway and got them!
As a MASSIVE fan of the Virtual Boy (yes really), its so hard to watch a SEALED Virtual Boy get opened. Also Gunpei Yokoi was never laid off, he quit himself over his failure. He made the GameBoy Pocket, left, made a Gaming/Toy company, created the BANDAI WonderSwan, and then died in a car crash
Thanks for sharing. Did this include the A/C power adapter and plug? I believe Nintendo used an identical wall wart A/C power adapter as used with the SNES. I think it even uses the SNES logo font IIRC.
this item was way befor its time, if this would have been made with the technology of oculus rift it would have been legendary. also if they woouldnt rush realesing it and have it on hold for a few years nintendo would gain huge profit. shame t never realesed in europe, i would definetly have played it as child peace
Did you try using the focus settings on top? Also do you need to wear glasses or contacts? From my experience its unplayable unless i have my contacts or glasses on. Also i must adjust the focus switches. Then i can play it for hours no problem.
I would say the Remote feels well. Rather a Nintendo 64 look. I would say that the look and feel was well supported to created the Gamecube Controller. I can play my Virtual Boy for hours. Really fun device, sad it did not see the light of day for that long.
The only "mod" I've ever heard for this is opening it up and soldering the ribbon cables, because Nintendo built the thing cheaply and glued the ribbon cables to the board instead of soldering them. Because of Nintendo's design choices, the optics fail on every virtual boy, unless you have the ribbon cables soldered. But yes, there are some homebrew games for it.
i dont see vboy as a failure device, instead its a collectible item for a gamer.thus its the first 2d device during its time. which they is much worse console out there such as the stupid box 360. only 2 game were play, then it fail me with the red ring of death.....
Solid Snake Fox I like Nintendo and all, but the numbers say clearly that VBoy failed and also, how is the virtual boy at all better than the Xbox 360??
So did it ever occur to the developers if the Virtual Boy that putting eyes on the screen is FRIGGING STUPID! Reason 1 ITS STUPID! Reason 2 What if you play a game for like hours and since your eyes are to close to the screen like really close.........YOUR EYES WILL START TO and YOU WOULD BE BLIND WITHING A COUPLE OF DAYS SINCE YOU PLAY FOR HOURS AND HOURS unless there is a way for it to not happened.Like I said...... FRIGGING STUPID!!!!!!!!!!
I love how in the manual it says "entertainment value" and in the page before there a million warnings
The great grandparent of oculus rift
Gunpei was not laid off by Nintendo, he actually worked on the Game Boy pocket before he left to start his own company.

Most comfortable controller nintendo has ever made.
He had to come up with a complaint so suddenly he's critiquing the plastic.
Ikr, and i love the concept too, red and black, fits perfectly in my eyes! And so much wire, i love it! My eyes really hurts. I lovee itttt
@@emmettturner9452 isn’t most controllers made of some kind of plastic? Or at least from the same generation.
@@jamesmylife6578 Exactly. That’s why the criticism feels contrived. ;)

Oh my...
EXT is "Extension" just like EXP is "Expansion." It doesn't mean "Extra."
what do you mean? the Virtual Boy did NOT get released in Europe
He didn't get layed off, he left by his own decision. He even stayed longer then he wanted to do that he could design the gameboy pocket
then it became the octulus rift
Yea the oculus was bought by FaceBook...you're welcome have a nice day!
Still own one. Modded it so it can play gameboy games
What ever happened to the Pokémon mini?

If I buy this I'm taking pain killers every time I play to prevent headaches
Awesome mate I like the style but my vision would not give the depth right .

can i use the virtual boy behind my head?
XeD, if you were ever to sell your Crash Bandicoot Warped press kit, how much would you sell it for?
Is the a fracassation
i think those ebay auctions were frauds mate, or had some small text saying that it was imported.
We didn't get this in Europe :(
Where did you get this? That's so cool! I can only imagine how expensive it must've been...
Traded it with an American collector years ago
What about virtual girl
How much was it

I know that it was a bad console, but I want the console. I would mark an 8 on it and play some games on it. I once dreamed that I got a Virtual Boy.
The virtual boy was a fail
And a piece of shit
I emulated in Oculus Go and is very cool... I like..
are they region free?
Yeah!!!
Looks great! I never owned one myself.
Yeah I want one, but there is only like 780,000 made altogether and they can be quite expensive.
