Struggle Meals should be recommended to every budding home cook out there! This show makes cooking affordable, nutritious and accessible; honestly one of the best cooking shows on RUclips.
@@jennarmentor2833 You can get plant lights at a hardware store-they even make normal lightbulb-shaped ones you can stick in a cheap desk lamp. Or, if you want sexy sexy hydroponics and don’t mind spending some money, you can go with one of the aerogarden-type systems. (Sorry for butting in, I used to be a botanist and still do a lot of indoor growing.)
I always look forward to your videos. I watch them at the end of my day when I’m just chillin...you reminded me cooking should be fun and not always so complicated...you make me laugh... thank you.
Thanks, Frankie, for great food and great fun! Your shows are a great way to unwind after a long and, these days, extra-stressful day in the hospital or at the office! Your recipes are awesome, too-I am using your shows to teach my young adult sons how to cook and eat well while steeeeeeeetching the grocery budget!
Friday nights are stay at home date night for me and my husband. We try to take the time to make something a bit more special (we’ve titled it Fancy Friday Feast). This is definitely the main course for this Friday.
Thanks for the mushroom tips ~ some of them I didn’t know and I love mushrooms but haven’t been able to successfully cook anything other than baby Bella or the Cremini mushrooms.
Love this show. I wish the title would be Common Sense Meals. We should all cook like this most of the time, maybe with a side of greens at every meal.
Thank you for the dry brush tip at the end! You don't know how many times I've been told to wash mushrooms in my adult life. People thought it was weird that I just brushed them off, but that's how my Gramma taught me to clean them.
I enjoy those pickled Paris mushrooms (i have no idea why, but in brasil we call them champignon), and I ate them in every way possible. But I never was a fan of any other type of mushrooms... mainly because I ordered them few times in Asian restaurants and I really disliked them. But again, I disliked most of the things those restaurants did, and when I tried doing them in my home, I enjoyed them so much. This made my mouth water. Definitely going to pick some in he next trip to the grocery.
I once forgot the word for creminis and referred to them as mini 'bellas in front of the wrong person at the grocery store and he snapped at me. Apparently this construction worker in uniform left the cheffing world to make real money after years of being broke but well fed, was offended and needed me to know there is NO SUCH THING as a mini 'bella, ONLY criminis. To complete this whole story, imagine him stomping off in his dusty Kodiak work boots with his orange saftey vest flapping at his sides. Oy.
Frankie, you had done a video about dried mushrooms, would that be something to add here? Also you showed pictures of not exotic mushrooms, how about a deeper dive going beyond shiitake?
Frankie I love you but the thought of mushrooms makes me want to throw upI hate mushrooms I will never eat mushrooms can I have a meat dish with bold flavors and oils
Right? I love the heck out of this series, but every time the packet drawer is busted out I think "Wait, how much are you spending on takeout to have a whole drawer? You could have used that to buy more and better ingredients instead."

Our pleasure!
I would love a video on starting my own struggle herb garden!
Me too. I’ve tried but I don’t if I have to have a special light or something? They didn’t grow well in my kitchen.
Agreed

Friday nights are stay at home date night for me and my husband. We try to take the time to make something a bit more special (we’ve titled it Fancy Friday Feast). This is definitely the main course for this Friday.
Looked so good! Definitely gonna make this one.

THRILLED you have your own channel! Struggle Meals is the bomb.
I needed this!
Thank you for the dry brush tip at the end! You don't know how many times I've been told to wash mushrooms in my adult life. People thought it was weird that I just brushed them off, but that's how my Gramma taught me to clean them.
where can I find the actual recipe for the Struggle Meal dishes?
I’m allergic to mushrooms but still watching because it’s Frankie
A great recipe, thank you for sharing to.the cream sauce is nice and thin with a great flavor.
crispy toping is sooo good :)
What's the oven temperature/time for the shiitake mushrooms?
I’m so happy you have your own channel now! This looks delicious!
Thank you so much 🤗
Does anybody know where I can find the recipe? The link on the description isn't very helpful
Loved the tips. Still waiting for your channel to explode..should be soon.

Dried mushrooms? for the stock?
And Merry Christmas .
is there a substitute for the white wine? cause alcohol is a no-no in our culture.
but I'm a big mushroom lover, so I really wanna try this out.
I’m not old enough to buy alcohol here, so I just use lemon or lime juice. I think if you use something acidic and light then it can work!
@@roua9882 thanks, I'll take notes of that.
According to The Spruce Eats, it can be substituted with apple cider vinegar, chicken or vegetable broth, apple juice or white grape juice
This is my go-to meal. but I wonder how long do you put the shitake in for, and how high? Sorry if this question has been answered already.
Awww, no DROP DA STOCK moment. But still MUSHROOMS!
I once forgot the word for creminis and referred to them as mini 'bellas in front of the wrong person at the grocery store and he snapped at me. 😂 unbelievable!
I gasped when he started slicing that garlic like he was late for work hcuehdif
I hate mushrooms, I'm only watching this for Frankie lol
This is great but it would be even better if you gave times (eg, how long to leave shiitake mushrooms in the oven)
Where on earth are mushrooms this cheap? They’re 4$ a pack where I live 😂😭
I am in love🤨👀❣
Great to see mostly plant based. Save the planet 🌱👌
(Easy to switch out the cheese for some plant based cheese if you want to go 100% plant based)
I like eggplant as a sub for meat
Oh my god. I literally just realized that that's where "Ragu" came from.
I am shamed.

More recipes with no meat please! 💗 Death on a plate yucky
Struggle meals = pasta
PinC!! But you miss porcini..
But these mushrooms are more expensive than meat
Frankie I love you but the thought of mushrooms makes me want to throw upI hate mushrooms I will never eat mushrooms can I have a meat dish with bold flavors and oils
Do NOT eat raw white button cremini or portobello mushrooms. They are carcinogenic when raw. Always always always cook your mushrooms
First
Just get some kikomans and a pad of Irish butter and stop withthe packets pls
Right? I love the heck out of this series, but every time the packet drawer is busted out I think "Wait, how much are you spending on takeout to have a whole drawer? You could have used that to buy more and better ingredients instead."
Google: mushrooms maggots
They should have a girl host meatless Monday’s 😂😂
This has to be a parody of white privilege, right?
