    Oh my the speed really suck huh. But many factors come in play like u said, router location. Maybe next round can show speedtest versus ur phone/ laptop, and this Tp-link Wifi USB in the same location and/or bring it to nearer the router and test also to see if it's any better. Anyhow great video bro! 👍

    I want to use the T2U for enabling my laptop to use 5 GHz because there are so many 2,4 GHz networks around my flat such that 2,4 GHz WiFi is very slow here whereas 5 GHz WiFi is fast (Using my smartphone). My Archer T2U is installed, the driver is updated; I can find the T2U in the list of networks, but it does not accept the network key from my router. Does it probably connect to any neighbour`s WLAN? Which network key should I enter?

    What do you think the speed could be 'SHARING A WIFI HOTSPOT' for Quest vr? I currently get about 40mbit from the laptop built in wifi hotspot mode. I would like to get it up to 100mbit without spending too much.

    • @JackyYBT
      @JackyYBT  10 месяцев назад +1

      It depends on your Internet service provider package you sign. If you sign higher than 100 mbps then can achieve that speed. Like 300 mbps, in theory if 2 devices connected then split it into half. Also, where you use your laptop is a factor that will affect the speed. The closer to your router the better connection is.

    I just ordered this, and even with the right security key, I receive a message saying "cannot connect to this network". My internet provider is starlink, and although I cannot connect to that, I could connect to my other wifi, viasat. So the problem is in relation to starlink and the adapter, and since starlink is so new, I cannot find a solution. any advice?

      Thank you for being patient. If you're experiencing difficulty connecting your TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 wireless USB adapter to your Starlink network, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
      1. Check Compatibility: Ensure that the TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 adapter is compatible with your specific model of Starlink router or satellite dish. You can check the product specifications and compatibility list on the TP-Link website or contact TP-Link support for assistance.
      2. Driver Installation: Make sure you have installed the correct drivers for the TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 adapter on your computer. Visit the TP-Link website to download and install the latest drivers for your operating system.
      3. Reset Network Settings: Try resetting the network settings on your computer and/or the Starlink router. Sometimes, network settings can become corrupted, causing connectivity issues. Restart both your computer and the Starlink router after resetting the network settings.
      4. Update Firmware: Ensure that your Starlink router's firmware is up to date. Check the manufacturer's website or contact Starlink support for instructions on how to update the firmware.
      5. Check Security Settings: Double-check the security settings on your Starlink network to ensure they are compatible with the TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 adapter. Make sure you are using the correct security protocol (e.g., WPA2) and passphrase/key.
      6. Signal Strength: Check the signal strength of your Starlink network in the location where you are attempting to connect. If the signal is weak, you may experience connectivity issues. Try moving closer to the router or repositioning the satellite dish for better signal reception.
      7. Contact Support: If you've tried the above steps and are still unable to connect to your Starlink network with the TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 adapter, consider contacting both TP-Link and Starlink support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or offer a solution to your problem.
      By following these steps and seeking assistance from the appropriate support channels, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the connectivity issues with your TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 adapter and Starlink network.

    Can it automatically install drivers if I just plug it in? My pc is win 11

    • @JackyYBT
      @JackyYBT  7 месяцев назад

      In most cases, modern operating systems such as Windows 11 have built-in drivers for common hardware components, including many USB Wi-Fi adapters like the TP-Link Archer T2U AC600. When you plug in the TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 into a USB port on your Windows 11 PC, the operating system will attempt to automatically detect and install the necessary drivers for the device.
      However, there may be instances where the built-in drivers are not sufficient or encounter compatibility issues. In such cases, you may need to manually install the drivers provided by TP-Link. You can download the latest drivers from the TP-Link website and follow the installation instructions provided.
      If you encounter any difficulties with automatic driver installation or connectivity after plugging in the TP-Link Archer T2U AC600, you can try manually installing the drivers as a troubleshooting step. This ensures that you have the most up-to-date and compatible drivers for your device.

      Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially improve your WiFi connection with the TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 Wireless WiFi USB Adapter:
      ### 1. **Check Signal Strength**
      - Ensure that your PC is within range of your WiFi router. Physical obstructions like walls and furniture can significantly reduce signal strength.
      ### 2. **Update Drivers**
      - **Update Adapter Driver**: Make sure that you have the latest drivers for the TP-Link Archer T2U AC600. You can download them from the TP-Link official website.
      - Go to the [TP-Link Support](www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/archer-t2u/) page.
      - Find and download the latest driver for your operating system.
      - Install the driver and restart your PC.
      - **Update Router Firmware**: Check if there's a firmware update available for your router and update it if needed.
      ### 3. **Change USB Port**
      - Try plugging the adapter into a different USB port, preferably a USB 3.0 port if available, as they provide better performance than USB 2.0 ports.
      ### 4. **Disable Built-in WiFi**
      - Since you have a built-in WiFi card, there might be interference. Disable the built-in WiFi card from Device Manager to ensure only the TP-Link adapter is active.
      ### 5. **Change WiFi Channel**
      - Interference from other networks can cause connectivity issues. Access your router's settings and try changing the WiFi channel to a less crowded one.
      - Use tools like WiFi Analyzer (available on the Google Play Store) to identify the best channel.
      ### 6. **Adjust Power Settings**
      - Ensure that your PC's power settings are optimized for performance.
      - Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
      - Select "High Performance" and then click on "Change plan settings".
      - Set both "Turn off the display" and "Put the computer to sleep" to "Never".
      - Click on "Change advanced power settings".
      - Under "Wireless Adapter Settings", set it to "Maximum Performance".
      ### 7. **Reinstall the Adapter**
      - Uninstall the TP-Link Archer T2U driver from Device Manager.
      - Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
      - Find the TP-Link adapter under "Network adapters".
      - Right-click on it and select "Uninstall device".
      - Restart your PC and reinstall the driver.
      ### 8. **Test with Another Device**
      - Check if the issue is specific to your PC by testing the adapter on another device. If it works well on another device, the issue might be with your PC’s settings.
      ### 9. **Ensure Adequate Ventilation**
      - Overheating can cause performance drops. Ensure your PC and the USB adapter have adequate ventilation and are not overheating.
      ### 10. **Contact Support**
      - If none of these steps work, it might be a hardware issue. Contact TP-Link support for further assistance or consider replacing the adapter.
      By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue with your TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 Wireless WiFi USB Adapter.

      Thanks for being patience. If your TP-Link Archer T2U AC600 Wireless WiFi USB adapter isn't being recognized by your computer, there are several troubleshooting steps you can follow:
      ### For Windows:
      1. Check Device Manager:
      - Press `Win + X` and select `Device Manager`.
      - Look for your USB adapter under "Network adapters" or "Other devices".
      - If it’s listed with a yellow exclamation mark, it means the drivers are not properly installed.
      2. Install/Update Drivers:
      - Visit the [TP-Link website](www.tp-link.com) and download the latest drivers for your Archer T2U AC600 adapter.
      - Install the drivers and restart your computer.
      - Alternatively, right-click on the adapter in Device Manager, select "Update driver," and follow the prompts to search automatically for updated driver software.
      3. Check USB Ports:
      - Try plugging the adapter into a different USB port.
      - If using a USB hub, try connecting directly to the computer.
      4. Disable Power Saving Mode:
      - Go to `Control Panel` > `Power Options`.
      - Select your power plan and click on "Change plan settings."
      - Click on "Change advanced power settings."
      - Expand "USB settings" and then "USB selective suspend setting."
      - Set it to "Disabled" and click "Apply."
      5. Check Network Settings:
      - Go to `Settings` > `Network & Internet`.
      - Ensure that the adapter is enabled under "Wi-Fi."
      - Run the network troubleshooter.
      ### For macOS:
      1. Check System Information:
      - Click on the Apple logo and select "About This Mac."
      - Go to "System Report" and then "USB."
      - Check if the adapter is listed under USB devices.
      2. Install/Update Drivers:
      - Download the latest macOS drivers from the TP-Link website.
      - Install the drivers and restart your Mac.
      3. Check Network Preferences:
      - Go to `System Preferences` > `Network`.
      - If the adapter is not listed, click the "+" button to add it manually.
      - Select the adapter from the "Interface" dropdown menu and configure it.
      ### For Linux:
      1. Check USB Device Recognition:
      - Open a terminal and type `lsusb` to check if the adapter is listed.
      2. Install/Update Drivers:
      - You might need to install specific drivers. Open a terminal and execute:
      ```bash
      sudo apt update
      sudo apt install build-essential dkms
      ```
      - Download the driver source code from the TP-Link website or from repositories like GitHub.
      - Extract the files and navigate to the directory in the terminal.
      - Run the following commands:
      ```bash
      make
      sudo make install
      sudo modprobe
      ```
      - Replace `` with the name of the driver module.
      3. Check Network Manager:
      - Ensure that Network Manager is recognizing the adapter.
      - You can use `nmcli` to check network devices:
      ```bash
      nmcli device status
      ```
      If none of these steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the adapter or compatibility issues with your computer. In such cases, contacting TP-Link support or considering a replacement might be necessary.

    Guys don’t download the drivers! If your pc does not have wifi adapters and you bought this so you can have wireless connection then do not download the drivers. First time i plugged it in, down speed and up speed is 100 mbps and quite stable but when i downloaded the drivers my down speed and up speed downgraded to 1 mbps. Their drivers are crippling the archer which is quite odd.

      To change from 2.4GHz to 5GHz, you'll need to access your router's settings. Here's how you can do it:
      1. Open a web browser on your computer or mobile device that is connected to your home network.
      2. Type the IP address of your router into the address bar of your browser. This is usually something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. If you're not sure what the IP address is, you can find it by checking the documentation that came with your router or by searching for it online.
      3. Enter the username and password for your router when prompted. If you haven't changed these from the default settings, you can usually find them in the documentation that came with your router.
      4. Look for the wireless settings section of your router's control panel. This may be labeled "Wireless," "Wi-Fi," or something similar.
      5. Look for an option to switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz. This may be labeled "Band," "Frequency," or something similar. Select "5GHz" to switch to the 5GHz band.
      6. Save your changes and restart your router.
      Once you've made the switch to the 5GHz band, you may need to reconnect your devices to your Wi-Fi network. Be sure to select the 5GHz network when connecting your devices to take advantage of the faster speeds and less interference that the 5GHz band provides.
