What I love the most about this story is, it shows how Walt wasn't out to make money (even though Disneyland made a lot), he wanted to entertain the guests. So turning a money-making restaurant into an attraction is part of the pure magic that is Disneyland.
And even though Walt passed away 47 years ago, I still feel his "legacy" alive at the parks. There will be those who say it's a corporate money-making machine. But I don't see it. I see Disneyland evolving constantly to entertain the guest.
It's getting too expensive to go to Disneyland though. A lot of peole can't afford to go now.

I love these videos about the history of Disney attractions! It's amazing, how the Enchanted Tiki Room evolved from a restaurant with Audio-Animatronic birds (sounds kind of similar to Rainforest Cafe, now that I think about it) to a full Audio-Animatronic show.
I couldn't agree more. Walt Disney is still alive in the magic of Disneyland, and the Tiki Room is still as magical to me as the first time I saw it in 1993 :)

RIP Rolly Crump, a legendary imagineer who was such an influence on Disneyland, Disney World, and many theme parks across the world.
As great as the 'Under New Management' version was at WDW, I'm glad they have Walt's original show in the Magic Kingdom now.
