I really like how you added the Flexx bars but still managed to keep he headlight pod. That's definitely the coolest Grizz I've ever seen! Can't wait to see you take on the TAT! I'd like to tag along for some of it if possible!
Good IDea about the Mountain bike grips.. I have them to on my Mountain bike, Ordering my Grizz EPS SE Saturday... thanks for all your videos.. Great Job Man!
Oh ps just seen you uploaded a video 4 weeks ago so everything must be ok with you see you soon can't wait till your next Grizzly video thanks from Toronto Ontario Canada
I just used a Tusk 7/8 30mm bar riser for my 2018 kodiak 450. Didn’t need any new cables. I know it’s not like your set up, but it’s a $25 way of a bar riser
OK, Brother, you just blew my mind! That Yamaha computer thingy is spectacular!!! LOL Those Flex bars look like such an amazing upgrade for long harsh rides and I'm so curious about your TAT adventure! Years ago, my brother and I planned an ATV trip from Homer to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, but just couldn't swing the logistics of that massive of an adventure. Awesome video, my friend! Cheers from the middle of nowhere Alaska!
Too cool. This is where the Internet is awesome. Thanks much all the way from Northeast Ohio. Gotta visit Alaska some day, it's one of only four states I haven't been to. Cheers back, keep the rubber side down :)
Did you have any issue with the rear master cylinder and the flex bushing, the foot brake cable is in the way to mount it normally, I see yours is turned down at a good angle. Just wonder if there is a better solution. Also rubs the hand guard mounts.
Yes the cable assembly is right in the way. I tried a few things, and had it all working somewhat ok, but besides this problem I just didn't have any confidence in good braking out of the foot pedal.. I ended up just disconnecting the foot brake altogether. Yamaha went cheap here. The foot brake should have had its own reservoir.
Have you Noticed more fuel consumption since adding the tuner vs. stock? I Just got back from another trip to hatfield McCoy trails and from this trip to the last I had to fuel up a lot More. Not sure if you were seeing the same results
Thanks much. I'm waiting on shocks right now, that will be the next video. I am planning on leaving end of July but theres still a lot of unsolved things for the ridiculously long trip.
Hi there, sorry if I missed it but I didn’t see if you are running a tether kill switch? The rules In ACR state you have to have one but I can’t seem to find any recommendations for one on a grizzly lol. Thanks
I didn't want to cut into the OEM wiring so I didn't hook it up. I've seen too many kill cord glitches over the years, (one more thing to possibly go wrong). If you end up putting one on and you find a proven quality solution please write back.
@@ATVScene that’s the same boat I’m in with not really wanting to touch the oem harness at all… these aren’t exactly a sport quad in terms of wiring lol. I’ll keep my eye out. Thank you for the reply!
A Japanese ATV shootout/comparison video would be awesome. I’d love to hear your perspective. I can’t decide which one I want for work, trail and a little mud.
Hey bro love the channel. I think the mountain bike grips would be an awesome idea. I would like to know how they worked out if you actually ended up using them. Looking for more vids and updates. Keep up the good work bud 👍
@@ATVScene I can see that being effective for racing. The thumb throttle is a bit awkward in tight right turns. Sometimes I actually grab it from underneath with my middle finger when I'm making a hard fast right but I'm only racing my kids lol. Anyways, love the build so far 👍
Have you serviced your clutch yet? It seems that its about impossible to get the yamaha Ulteamatic grease, just wondered if you are using an alternative? Thanks
Did you attach a tether switch for racing, if so, where did you put it on the bars? I am putting the same setup on mine this weekend and I will need to put on a tether switch for xc races. Thanks.
No, to tell the truth that's just the cord, it's not hooked up to anything. I didn't want to mess with the electrical and risk messing something up, especially on an ATV I dont plan to race that much.
I decided to wait a bit. I have a hunch Biden's America is going to self implode. I need an RV of some sort, maybe I can nab one for pennies on the dollar after the crash. I want my mom to be a part of it (in the chase rv), we need a good deal and it's been a horrible time to buy anything this year.
I really like your videos...I have recently purchased a 2021 kodiak700. I am considering a pair of the flexx bars, but how did you decide on the bend and riser combination, Im sure our atvs are quite similar....any input would be appreciated....its good to see a fellow buckeye....thanks
I should have probably spent more time on this. It's a great question. I sort of go by what I have felt most comfortable on over the years. The stock Suzuki LTR 450 comes to mind. I know I love that bend and height, (it's the 15 degree CR low bend). Fasst Co put a lot of time and effort into this page: www.fasstco.com/pages/flexx-atv-handlebar-bends Go there to look up the different stock OEM bends to get a baseline of what you know you already like. I'm 5'-10” and have always like the CR low bend. For our Grizzly/ Kodiak you have to get the low bend, so that part is done for you. The finish product on what I did in this video is perfect for me, and probably most will go with my same selection (the CR bend is very popular). You will love this upgrade. It's without a doubt one of the best mods you can make to your Grizzly / Kodiak... SO much better than the wimpy lackluster stock bar set up.
@@ATVScene thanks for the reply....I appreciate it. I can definitely see the worth of these bars. Im curious, did EHS racing do any work to your clutch?
What size rox risers are thoes? Are they the 5in. And I noticed on the flex bar website the recommend the 19degree how would that translate to the set up that you have.

You should make RUclips shorts in-between your long video series and/or upload more often. Thanks for writing. I'm racing my ebike today at the Mountaineer GNCC. I am close to getting part 4 done, all about tires and wheels, and part 5 is suspension.
I copied you a bit but my budget isn’t as big lol. I have same bars and hand guards but all black, even my hand guard rail is powder coated black with silver hardware. I went with ITP hurricane wheels, 25x10-12 swamp witch radials on all 4 corners. I would have LOVED to copy you on wheels and tires but I couldn’t justify it. I don’t race, just trail ride. I’d be super curious how much different mine would handle being 10-12 on all corners instead of skinner wheels and tires like you did. Maybe I made a mistake idk. I trail ride, in the mud, nothing much above the tires, and I hill climb. I figured the extra width and surface area would be best for climbing hills, not to mention more ballast down low with heavier rubber.
Hey, Great video and love the grizz...what tires do you have on and what size? Any regrets? Did you modify the clutch at all for the new tire size?? Thanks
I will talk all about my tire and wheel set up in the next episode. I went with 25x8x12 Kenda Bearclaw HTR tires on all corners bolted to 12x6 Keizer beadlocks with custom offsets to match the exact OEM width, the fronts are 12x6 with 5+1 offsets, and the rears are 12x6 with 4+2 offsets.
With this my tire and wheel package is only slightly heavier than stock but WAY better, and I left my clutch alone on recommendation from Eric at EHS (we talked about this in part 2 of this video series).
@@ATVScene so would a 6+1 and 5+2 combo keep the same width ratio wise (fromt to back) but end up about 2 inches wider? Looking forward to the next video.
@@ATVScene more of a question of availability. I don't think I have ever seen the offset you got readily available especially in Canada. Might have to settle for 6+1 and 5+2. Keep up the great content!
