Bowie has at least 7 different genres / phases ......1 Early Bowie (Changes,Space Oddity, Life on Mars /. 2 Glam Rock Bowie (All of Ziggy Stardust ) 3 Soul Man Bowie (Young Americans, Golden Years) 4 Industrial Bowie Thin White Duke (Station to Station ) 5 New Romantic Bowie (Heroes, Ashes to Ashes) 6 Rock Star Bowie (Lets Dance, Modern Love) 7 Later Bowie BlackStar. Etc.... I could easily threw a few more phases and key songs in,...... Let just say He is one of the most creative musicians ever.
*Blackstar
Thank you @@bobwoolerOriGinal
And really early Bowie... Listen to the record Deram Antholgy. It is a compilation album from his early, a bit odd, years
What about “I’m Afraid of Americans” by Bowie and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails? So underrated.
I wouldn't consider his Berlin yrs romantic
Bowie is practically a genre of his own, he was always ten years ahead of everyone! A rabbit worth checking out!🙂
Mark my words. They will be studying David Bowie one hundred years from now.
Not just a legend. A prodigy. A once in a hundred years icon.
:)...I just wrote he'll be dissected and appreciated by music lovers for a THOUSAND years...

"They will be studying David Bowie one hundred years from now." I don't know, the way mass market music goes, there will be like 10 peole listening to Bowie and similar caliber stuff, and the majority will be studying Drake or some such shit
Bowie was the very epitome of genius. Performing live in front of an audience was where he felt most at home and as we can all see here, his relationship with his band and the crowd were always incredible. This was Berlin , so the references to the wall were very poignant for the entire audience. So sad he's no longer with us, but the fruits of his undoubted genius will be with us for ever, thank God. RIP David. 🙋♂

The Bowie album “Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars” just won 3rd place in the best album of the seventies on a Facebook survey.
Hell yes! I love that so much! Thanks for that.
a few minutes ago i read that SRV is on David Bowie's 'Let's Dance'
You need to listen to the studio version. Robert Fripp calibrated the studio floor so he could play the feedback frequency by moving to predetermined marks on the floor. The studio was just across the road from the Berlin wall and this song was inspired by the view from the studio window.
The Berlin trilogy is one of the greatest album runs by one of the greatest artists ever.
And yet, Fripp went uncredited.
@@EdwardGregoryNYC it's no true. he was
@@ХокХоксон He is not given credit as a "featured peformer" which is required to be given a credit on the song. According to Music Radar: "So the current situation appears that Fripp needs to be given that status (PPL status) before the Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) music licensing company can recognise him and that the accreditation required is down to the Bowie estate."
@@EdwardGregoryNYC Looks like I don't know something special about credit details , at least I see the credit *Lead Guitar - Robert Fripp* on the record sleeve. Is it not enough?
we were SO blessed that he decided to perform the entire (brilliant, and forever under-rated) "Low" album. Look for it. It is so amazing.
Hi Millie, great reaction this morning:)David Bowie had lots of good stuff, even the Hollywood Vampires did a good cover of heroes a few years ago which Johnny Depp sang vocals on,have a great day:)
Millie I could never hate you. I pity you that you have had to endure life up to this point without Bowie in your life. I envy you the journey you can now embark on. Great reaction!!
David Bowie! ICONIC!! LEGENDARY!!! His BEST Song...Ever; My FAVORITE Bowie song! You are right Millie; He has influenced sooo many artists since SPACE ODDITY in July 1969. I love him....What an immense and varied song catalogue to explore! **REBEL REBEL** **YOUNG AMERICANS** and **LET'S DANCE** for starters. I'm on your Bowie journey Millie! Have a great one
Millie: you have been gifted to go down the rabbit hole of David Bowie. Lots to do. You will love it. Since you love a good riff, try Rebel Rebel. Just a start.
Robert Fripp from King Crimson did the guitar work on the original "Heroes".
Robert Fripp is awesome! Been a King Crimson fan since the first album came out in 1969. She should do Epitaph off that album, amazing stuff!
Just had The Court of the Crimson King. Liked a lot of their stuff though.
@@kenlawless7247 I really like the John Wetton era with Bill Buford on drums, those 3 albums are gold.
vic I think you should be a guest on Millie's channel. My first suggestion is 21st Century Schizoid Man"@@vicprovost2561
Just a couple of chords, simple back and forth arrangement, easy instrumentation, a song that basically goes nowhere…
Bowie turns it into an anthem for the ages.
Don't talk crap.
And don't forget the fantastic guitar solo created by Robert (King Crimson) Fripp.
The Man is a legend. There are too many songs to name, Starman, Aladdin Sane, Life on Mars. I could gone on forever.
Good tune Silly Millie! You pronounce his last name Bow-e, like bow and arrows. I think you did his Space Oddity song earlier and stated it was spacy. Lots to dive in. Rebel Rebel, Changes and Suffragette City are just a few early ones in his career you need to checkout! 😎
hi millie. david bowie was one of the greatest ever and his rabbit-hole is very deep. and he wasn´t called "the chamaeleon of rock´n roll" for no reason. lot´s of stuff to hear and to suggest. "suffragette city" or "ziggy stardust" perhaps. my favourite ones are "sweet thing" and "big brother", cause they are on the first bowie album I bought. (as a twelve year old, when it came out in 1974., you can do the math.)
Ashes to Ashes must be the Next Bowie song......IS the second part of Space Oddity. Tells the true history of Mayor Tom......and the video clip is a masterpiece
Yes! Ashes to Ashes! Bowie for me stands alone. He truly was a trailblazer in his beginnings.
The Thin White Duke. Bowie singing this at Live Aid was a great moment.
Hi Millie, you must listen to a song from Bowie called 'Hallo Spaceboy' and 'The Hearts Filthy Lesson'! Next please do 'Come On' by Oktaf Kanis, thanks Millie 🙌🏻
Millie! Do a reaction to "Starman" from David Bowie and "Starlight" from Oktaf Kanis 🙌🏻
Starlight! Never never never get bored of this song! ❤
Check out David Bowie and Bing Crosby, Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.
Loved your reaction
I’d put this song in his top 50.
Keep diving into the Bowie rabbit hole!
It's been 34 years since the wall came down. Fewer and fewer remember that there once was an East and a West Berlin (and Germany).
Your smile said it all. I felt that.
Hahaha it did and thanks 😊 💜
You have just witnessed greatness by a true master!! Saw him several times in the late sixties thru the seventies.
You should listen to the studio version (of the album) which lasts 6 minutes and came out in 1977, it is a song with a unique production and sound, Bowie's interpretation there is the best you can hear
David Bowie was awesome and a true ikon and musical chameleon, this is one of his best covers ever of a great John Lennon tune. Some of my favorite Bowie is back in his Ziggy Stardust era from 69 to 73 with the Spiders from Mars, who featured a volcanic Mick Ronson on lead guitar. Try Moonage Daydream, live on his Ziggy Stardust tour, that concert movie in 1973 is pure gold. Some of the Best Bowie, Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
This is a Bowie song. Great as Lennon was I don't see the connection?
@@paulus7041 My bad, was thinking of Lennons Working Class Hero, wrong tune, too many songs in my 68 year old head@
Must. Watch. Labyrinth. It is my childhood. It is a David Bowie and Muppet musical.
Millie, here are a few Bowie tracks for you. It's an incomplete list - I gave up.
"Space Oddity", "The Prettiest Star" (1970 single), "The Man Who Sold the World", "Changes", "Life on Mars?", "Five Years", "Starman", "Ziggy Stardust", "Watch That Man", "Drive-In Saturday", "The Jean Genie", "Rebel Rebel", "Young Americans", "Fame", "Golden Years", "TVC 15", "Sound and Vision", "Boys Keep Swinging", "Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)", "Ashes to Ashes", "Modern Love", "Let's Dance" etc.
But before you listen to those here's YOUR homework. Listen to the full length studio version of "Heroes" ruclips.net/video/uC2lvJ0Xg7M/видео.html and then how it was produced by Tony Visconti (the producer) ruclips.net/video/7Q2scPrc1WE/видео.html
Halo Space Boy, New Killer Star I'll Survive (Your Naked Eyes)
Space Oddity
ruclips.net/video/iYYRH4apXDo/видео.html
It's a new world that is opening to you, girl.
starts off with him goofing around.. a little guitar and him talking the lyrics casually and somehow ends up as a rock anthem - amazing trick Mr Bowie...amazing
He is amazing lol hahaha funny too 💜
It was composed during his Berlin yrs... he was walking with Visconti and his wife passing the Berlin Wall - thinking of people divided by that... and struggling with his heroine addiction - the song was also a totle song for the film "Christiane F. - the children from the Zoo station", for which he was performing again as it showed exactly the life in Berlin back thrn...
There is so much more behind this song
For another great Bowie performance, plus it's a duet!
Trent Reznor and Bowie performing Hurt on stage.
Reznor, of NIN, is a huge fan of Bowie, and you can see the joy he has
performing one of his signature songs with an inspiration of his.
Hi, Millie! If you want to hear David Bowie's range and that bluesy feel in his voice, go to "Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing (Reprise)" studio version. Get the one without pauses between songs, it's a bit shorter, like 8 min and something. The live versions to this one are not that good because Bowie was going through a rough time with his cocaine addiction and his voice was rather hoarse during that tour. Another bluesy one from the same album is "We Are the Dead". They are from the album "Diamond Dogs" and David did a lot on that album: vocals, guitars, saxophone, production.
The white Duke of Blues👍🎶🥁🎸🎤🇬🇧
One classy gentleman .I am happy saw him twice in my life time and actually had the privilege to ask him for autograph on my copy of Fame....
I think of the dispute he had with SRV over a music video in which Bowie portrayed himself playing the guitar line, when actually it was SRV.
The world needs more David Bowie.
Bowie, Dylan, Beatles and Stones.....the 4 Major names in Musical History.....Nobody can match their catalogue of legendary songs.......sons of Bowie?: Life on mars, Changes, the man Who sold the world, Golden Years, Lets dance, Ashes to Ashes, Starman, Absolut beginners, .....and the list go on and on
You just watched his best video Millie he put his all into it best concert I ever saw David was the best showman
Bowie is pronounced "Boh-wee", to rhyme with doughy or Joey.
Omg! Bowie! Please do Come On by Oktaf Kanis, always love your reaction Millie! 🔥
Millie ... Is a hero 😊 !
Thank lol 😆 💜
My era , probably one of the most influential musicians socially and musically
Millie, you are right... A true "Rock Anthem" !!
El único Dios en el que valía la pena creer....
Bowie would have absolutely loved your hoodie! He was made of stardust after all.
Okay, no hate... 🥰🥰🥰
"Space Oddity", this song you have to hear
And of course, POLICE came later, but Sting is still great.
I recommend you "Under Pressure", David duet with Annie Lennox, concert "Live Aid", 1992.
Ziggy Stardust - anything from that album
The whole group really takes their time sliding into this classic and ramping up the groove all the way to 11. Really neat compared to the album version.
Hi Milli. Im new to your channel but you're reacting on my favourite Bowie song, so i just had to take a look and I'm glad I have.
You dont have to do a video of it but have a look at my favourite performance of this song from the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. He performed it with Mick Ronson on guitar who was one of Bowie's backing band, The Spiders From Mars. Sadly Mick has gone now too.
Thanks for a great video. I will be subscribing too.❤
So many people didn't "get" Bowie because from one album to the next, his style & sound changed. But that fact is exactly why he is now considered a musical genius. Even with his popular songs, he re-arranged them on live concerts. As he said himself, "I get bored easily". Millie, watch this video when Bowie was in his 50s...he looks back on his life. A quiet song, but I love the video. ruclips.net/video/gfOKDB0ChQk/видео.html
Dude was the coolest performer ever..
El gran " Duke blanco", el Hombre de las estrellas....❤❤❤❤
I still find it astounding so many younger people have missed these gigantic songs of the past-----Try Absolute Beginners also in a smallish venue which he is very good at. The span of his work in mood is very very wide ,, Absolute Beginners remains on the lighter side..
Je t'adores Bowie et moi c'est depuis le début . tu as compris
Think of this song in the context of the Berlin wall before it fell!!
Chills!!!!!!!!!!
The "WALL" in this is the BERLIN WALL
And the song is about two fictious lovers seperated by the wall seperating East and West Berlin before the USSR collapsed.
Wikipedia:
"An art rock song that builds throughout its run time, "'Heroes'" concerns two lovers, one from East Berlin and the other from the West. Under constant fear of death, they dream they are free, swimming with dolphins. Bowie placed the title in quotation marks as an expression of irony on the otherwise romantic or triumphant words and music. Directly inspired by Bowie witnessing a kiss between Visconti and singer Antonia Maass next to the Berlin Wall, other inspirations included a painting by Otto Mueller and a short story by Alberto Denti di Pirajno."
just write down all of his songs on slips of paper, and put them in a hat. you wont be disappointed with anything you pull out.
back in the late 70ies he came on the stage as Ziggy Stardust now that ... that was a trip .....just look up Ziggy Stardust first time I ever saw anything gender bender
Great reaction and great version of it...
Great reaction Millie! Please check out Rebel Rebel next.
R.I.P. Legend ❤😢
David Bowie can still bring a smile to a yougsters mouths...message there.
Find David doing 'Under Pressure' with his bass player here, Gail Ann Dorsey....she has an amazing voice....!!
I envy you x
You can now fill your heart and head and musicality listening to the massiveness of his legend
Enjoy xxxx
Hes the bomb ❤️
I am not a big fan of Bowie, but this song is sooooooo good
Great hair, class and brilliant 😊😊😊
Thanks for this reaction to a fantastic performer singing a fantastic song. However, I would not place Bowie as a Pop singer but firmly in Rock & Roll. There are a handful of generational musicians in Rock history and David is one of them. He was a true Renaissance man, and there haven't many of those. I believe the bassist out front is Gail Ann Dorsey, not only a gifted bassist but a great singer with her own albums. A trivia note: At Lilith Fair The Indigo Girls covered "Midnight Train to Georgia" And there was a third distinctive voice that many credited to Ani Di Franco but was, in fact, Gail Ann Dorsey.
You listening to to the best version...
Enjoy he's one of the best🎉🎉🎉
Everyone needs more David Bowie! Try Rock and Roll Suicide
Great reaction. This is a fine version, but I generally recommend listening to the studio version of songs first for a reaction. Now there are droves of instances where the live performances are so fantastic that they're more impressive than the studio version, but one thing about the studio version is you should be able to make out all aspects of the instrumentation and production that may be missing in the live version.
Superstar 💥
It seems the audio isn't synced properly with the video. It almost makes it look like he's poorly lip-syncing without knowing the lyrics. Unfortunate because it did sound like a great performance.
Going down the David Bowie rabbit hole could be fun.
The final song in JOJO Rabit
Motorhead actually cover this one live. And a good cover as well 😈😎🇧🇻

DAVID BOWIE Let's Dance Glastonbury 2000
Oi, Millie. We can't hear a word you're saying love
Love this version of this song, didn't stay with your reaction, too out of sync'
You are about to critique Bowie and you have no idea who he is, and cannot pronounce his name.
Howd you get get your job?
Picked it out of a hat...???
Great song! That was the worst version of the song I have ever heard! No fault of yours. Do the LP version I think you would enjoy the real.
Think you'll have lots of fun exploring his songs. He's a great singer/songwriter with a deep catalogue.
You've struck a vein of pure gold with Bowie. I envy you, getting to hear his greatness for the 1st time 😃. A true legend, gone too soon.
"Young Americans" from the Serious Moonlight tour is fantastic.
You should explore most of the songs of his Ziggy Stardust (The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars) album first. Five Years, Moonage Daydream, Ziggy Stardust, Hang on to Yourself, Suffragette City. It's what really made him a rock icon.
Yes, Ziggy is Dope! Best Bowie for me. Mick Ronson!
The greatest rock song ever sung by the greatest rock star of all time.
Suffragette City is a great tune as well
Cool reaction Millie, Bowie will not leave us all, because his songs are still alive in our cool ears! Next reaction please react to Come On by Oktaf Kanis, thank you Millie :)
