Are Godzilla & Kong FRIENDS Now? Or Will they still FIGHT?

- What does the ending of Godzilla Kong the new empire say about the relationship between the two titular titans now in the Monsterverse? Are they buddies now or are they still at odds with each other?
As we all know in GvK, Godzilla was actually searching for signals and disturbances which he felt was the re-emergence of Monster Zero. This drove him into a heightened state of alert and combat readiness.
This fight with Kong also weakened Godzilla, who by the time Mechagodzilla was activated, had become too exhausted to actually put up a good fight.
But thankfully with the help of Kong, the mechanized titan was defeated. So, both of them in the end had an uneasy truce, with Kong dropping the axe as a sign of peace and Godzilla swimming back to the sea to recuperate. This was unsaid but understood that the surface world was Godzilla’s realm and Kong can do whatever he wanted to in the hollow earth, just don’t come back up or it will be treated as a challenge.
Godzilla, now more powerful that he ever was and combat ready again as he was in GvK, was expecting something out of the ordinary to come out from beneath the world. Funny, it was again Kong that came out in Egypt, who roared and sent a clear signal to Godzilla to come to where the ape was. Unfortunately, titan language is just what I said a while back, non vocal and is highly inferred by instincts and signals.
Like a miracle from down below, at the most crucial moment, Mothra shows up and sents Godzilla falling backwards with her powerful godrays.
And so here in Giza, Egypt, a pact was forged where the three would stop the upcoming colossal danger that threatens to take down both the surface and hollow earth realms.
This Team work ended in the defeat of a common enemy, the restoration of the natural order of things, mothra reawakening and both of them going back to their own respective territories.
I would say that after this, a strong trust would have been formed between the two and they definitely would be able to count on each other for future world ending fights.

I personally hope that Godzilla and Kong will remain allies and at some point become friends. It would be fun to see them team up against other threats in the future.

@@inspirix95 Godzilla is my all time favorite Kaiju. Kong is my second all time favorite Kaiju. They've been beating the tar out of each other since 1962. It's kind of refreshing to see them working together for a change. Depending on how far the Monsterverse goes, maybe one more team up to make it a trilogy and then they can go back to taking on their own conflicts in any possible future Monsterverse films.
seeing KONG and GODZILLA smiling at each other in the end of movie, they're friends now as long as one respects the other.

We already know this answer, Godzilla only fought Kong again because he thought Kong was challenging him with his alpha roar, that’s why Godzilla roared back and didn’t hesitate to fight. Also Kong & Godzilla smile at each other after Scar King is dead and the crystal is broken. There would be no reason for them to fight a 3rd time, there isn’t a reason as of now for Kong to go to the surface of the earth, but I’m sure he will in the next movie.
That’s also why the GVK event had a Godzilla vs shimo carving with none of scar king, also explains why scar king design wasn’t revealed until the 2nd trailer/teaser

Plus since Mothra clearly wanted Godzilla to work with Kong, Godzilla trusts Mothra and her judgement enough that I think that alone would sway Godzilla to be cool with Kong.

Shimo is such a great ally for kong like Godzilla can't fly so Mothra provides air support same way Shimo provides kong long range attacks and build ice bergs for him to swing like tree.

Yeah, I feel like any new Monsterverse movies will use Mothra as a bridge between Godzilla and Kong to make them function as a trio protecting humanity from other rogue Titans.
I imagine that while they are not friends, Godzilla would be chill a bit if Kong came back to the surface, like Godzilla would still want him gone but wouldn’t attack on sight and just be like “what you doing here man?”

My question is with Kong having called upon Godzilla for help against Skar King and Shimo, will the next movie perhaps see Godzilla call upon Kong for help against the likes of, say, Destoroyah?

Godzilla will probably allow Kong on the surface now but only if he knows why, I mean he is still the King of monsters so if Kong steps out of line Godzilla will be more than happy to put him back in his place, like everytime Godzilla saved Kong from Shimo I feel like he was thinking “NOBODY KILLS HIM BUT ME”

Godzilla is the protector while Kong is king. Kong has an overpowered pet that is an alpha titan that is mostly peaceful. (Unless controlled) they won’t fight again. Plot don’t need it now. Kong and big g have an understanding thru mothra. (Mothra said I was cool with his family the nigga live.) without mothra Godzilla would be overwhelmed by shimo and skarking plus apes. The next movie will be all Godzilla. Mostly because a threat is coming. The next villain will set up destroya but the villain will be a Godzilla species that mututes. This time they go with whatever because they have to advance everytime big g breathes

I hope that is the angle the writers go with. I don't know if this was intentional, but this sets up a sort of "Avengers" corp. for the monsterverse. Seeing Godzilla and Kong go at it again would just be old hat, so it's time to bring in other kaiju.
I certainly wouldn't call them "friends", but definitely possible allies in the future. I think the problem is simply who Godzilla is. Kong is very mature, and willing to work with others, but Godzilla is just an indestructible force of nature that wants to restore balance between the titans. Now that we have Mothra, she may help bring them closer in the future. As a lifetime Godzilla fan, I can only hope that Godzilla and Kong have set aside their differences. They both recognize each other's territories and respect each other for being the top alphas. So I definitely wouldn't call them friends, but instead, short companions who are willing to work with another.
I believe it depends on the circumstance or writing of the story. Since Godzilla and kong have a connection to the iwi tribe, Godzilla may finally have the full understanding that kong is connected to him, and misjudged kong because of the war. At this point in my view they are like brothers. Mothra also played a role in healing the feud between them. Family.

Mothra is key to this I think, so long as she is around Godzilla won’t be so hostile towards King Kong. Which is good for the story and character development of both GxK

But I hope we'll see their relationship develop more & see them team up again along with Mothra🦋, Rodan🦅, Shimo🐉🏔, Anguirus🐢 (get introduced), Suko🐒 & Minizilla/Gojira Junior🦎 (get introduced) against a new villain (Spacegodzilla, e.t.c.) in the next 3rd upcoming future GxK sequel movie (which will center/focus on Godzilla {+ his story} along with Kong as the secondary character), right👍😉🌌

Realistically they are not friends yet but they are working towards it. At this point post GXK I would say Godzilla would still be triggered and go after Kong if he were to came to the surface, but he would first "ask" what is the reason for his comeback first. It is pretty clear that the G-man doesn't see Kong as a threat but we have to keep in mind that they are stll territorial creatures so he would like an explanation.
So when is Jet Jaguar gonna make an appearance?
I want them go separate paths and not cross over soon, there’s no need for bromance every single movie, let them have separate movies and explore other titans and fights.. it becomes repetitive if every movie they both are together. Let Godzilla be busy defending Humanity, earth and his title of being alpha titan. Godzilla literally spend two movies in a row being a shadow in Kongs story, there was nothing extraordinary for Godzilla in these last two movies.. the storyline is becoming more Kong centric..

I disagree with you implying Godzilla blew a hole to warn scar king, Godzilla was able to sense MechaGodzilla all the way in middle of the ocean, why wouldn’t he be able to sense Kong, which he definitely did because Scar King & Shimo didn’t even exist yet. But it won't work.... Atomic breath will simply destroy both Kong and beast glove.
