And it doesn’t even surprise me that the names that come up as the reason why Amerie disappeared are Beyonce and J-Lo! Not to be shady but these two have both been accused of stealing from other artists many times

I think you are missing the real issue here. The problem is that it’s the producers who really make the music these days and so there is always going to be some overlap there between the "artists". I miss the days when a group of people just got together and decided to start a band and they came up with all the music and lyrics on their own. Today however some producer will find someone who can sing and who looks the part and then match that person up with talented songwriter and musicians. Someone like Ariana Grande is an amazing vocalist but I seriously doubt that she writes her own music and I’m pretty sure that it was a music producer who found her and put her together with the right people rather than the other way around. Of course, these days people don’t even need to be able to sing. In fact, that is reason I decided to find listen this great Amerie hit today. My girlfriend was making me listen to all this autotune crap that passes for music these days and I had to clear all that shit out of my head by listening to some stuff from back when singers actually had to be able to sing.

What dance moves and style of Amerie were stolen. Amerie wasnt even dancing till her second album in 2005. And even then she wasnt too keen about it as her label and team felt like she should do it. Also Rich Harrison produced both of Amerie albums as well as wrote her songs(the 2nd album she has some writing credits). Beyonce and JLo only have one single each produced by Rich Harrison. Which all three songs sound alike. Thats not an artist thing thats a producer thing.
Amelie wasn’t that much of a dancer, she really didn’t dance until her “ One Thing” video, which was one of the most popular songs in 05🤷🏽♀️
I think if Amerie got more support from the record labels, she would gave become a biiiiiiig star.

Record label gatekeeping stifles many artist’s careers. They all want to have THE top artist and will eliminate competition and create rivalries any way the can. Rich Harrison produced both songs. Rich produced Amerie's whole first album and produced "One thing". Amerie did have her own sound with Rich.

It's so weird to me how the producer made the song, the producer wrote the song but it's somehow Amerie's? He created & owns it and can give it to anyone he wants. Amerie just liked it first but that doesn't make it hers in anyway. You can say someone stole someone's sound when they're it's creator or else everyone who's demo got sold or who got sent a beat can say the same. and if Amerie's songs weren't out yet, how should anyone know it's supposedly "her sound" when all they get sent by the producer is a demo for a song they're told is for sale? If you're mad, direct your anger towards producer's for being messy or the artists for not making the producer sign an exclusivity contract.
I was a huge Amerie fan and still miss her. One Thing is still my all-time favorite dance track & music video from that era. It’s exciting to hear that she’s working on new music. She’s an amazingly talented artist and there’s definitely a place for her creativity, unique music style & beauty.

You have to remember too, Beyonce got pushed into the lime light because she was the "prettiest" of her 3 girl singing group. Also seemed over the years Kelly Rowlands better not have sought out projects for herself or she would have been black balled for attempting to over shadow Beyonce. As a matter of fact, it still seems that way today.
Not only that, her own sister Solange couldn't have a career like hers AT ALL. And she's been in the music industry for at least 15yrs working with some of the best as well.

I wouldn't blame Beyoncé and Jlo directly, but the music industry as a whole for depriving us of Amerie to favor them, but they could at least list her as an influence. They took from her whole vibe, talent and persona while pretending to be inventing the wheel. I'm just glad Amerie still gets her flowers from those who know better than being as fake as the industry many still blindly support, such a smart and beautiful woman.

I don't think it's the artist that does this.. it's the label and all of the money makers behind them that do this.. these people look at this industry like an investment to make as much money as possible and they will place their bets on who will make them the most money. They definitely do not care about feelings or the artists themselves.
