Hi there! I’m a beginner.. I would like to own a sander, I can’t decide whether to get random orbit or this one.. can you recommend? For now I don’t want to get both.
I will sand finishes and also some rough wood such as @2:29, will this type be fine? Or too time consuming?

thats hard to judge, but if you are only sanding wood then thisone would work just fine. Its not the most powerful thing in the world though. If you are gonna branch out to large surfaces and various types, then RO might be better.
For me it was easy, since i was already invested in the BOSCH battery ecosystem so that's also something to consider when you purchase one since the batteries are quite pricey

This kind is for Finishing. To give you that smooth surfaces you want.
RO is for rough surface, it's a faster sander... but it also leave marks, circle marks. If you don't change the pads often enough.
If you're ok with Marks, then RO is fine. But if Marks are no no for you... Then you'll need this Sander.
If you asked me, I'll get RO instead of this, if I have to choose. Reason because RO work faster. This one is slow af...
Even with RO leave marks, you can get rid of it with a few coats of solid color paints (But clear varnish don't help).
