Yeah that shit was funny. The cast after his I snapped all my gear off. Lmao. I'd have to ask him. Not sure on the brand of rod.

Something tells me you were using a surf rod and he was using a carp rod. I have fished with surf rods for years and I can cast pretty far. I started carp fishing with my surf rods and I feel I can rip a heavy sinker and pack bait no problem. But with my carp rods that I bought I can tell if I put the amount of force I do with my surf rods they are going to snap.
Yeah the rod I was using was a 9ft penn squadron. Really like that rod. I only had a 1oz weighted method feeder on my line. Lol he's lucky I didn't have just a tad more weight. Good times fasure. Carp Fishing has been a blast so far. Only 1 year in with the carp and I'm hooked

It’s too hot for the carp. They just stay suspend all day and don’t even feed. Try going to the bay and catching some sharks.
Yeah I was just talking to my buddy about the heat. There's a spot close to my house that has a deep channel within casting distance. I'm going to try 3 hours in the morning and then 3 hours at night to see if anything changes. If not, I'm back to Alameda Rockwall for a night shark session lol.... You've been out fishing?
You think it's to hot for the O'Neill 4 Bay location or like a clear lake road trip?

@@GerrodCarper just Lodi lake and caught 2 carps and a bunch of turtles. Too lazy to go on the piers with gear and drive to the skiffs in Santa cuz
