When I was 5, my dad would wake up at 4 in the morning to get ready, and he would always take twenty minute showers. I used to sleep on my parents’ bed since I would get night terrors, and so that meant I would wake up every time my dad did. I always snuck into the bathroom while he was showering, and I'd lay on the bathroom mat with a towel over my eyes. There was something so satisfying about my half-waken eyes hiding from bright bathroom lighting. I remember getting goosebumps being able to feel the vibrations of the water hitting the floor of the shower, especially every time he wrung out the washcloth. There was also this strange satisfaction of inhaling the steam coming from the hot shower. Not to mention the bathroom fan, which sounds identical to the one in this video. Put all the elements together and you have this perfect formula to head back to sleep after waking up before sunrise. My dad would carry me back to bed, and I'd wake up right next to my mom in the morning.

I also went through a bad spell of anxiety last year and popping my headphones in and putting this video at full blast always helped calm my anxiety and forget about all the problems the world is facing at the moment. Guys you should try playing multiple ambient sounds at the same time, it is awesome - I have computer fans, normal fans, server room fans and the bathroom fan playing at the same time, all at different volumes and it is awesome!

Amazing. Thank you! I'm glad you could find something a little similar to what you want. I suppose you could play with the volume to make it sound more distant. I know audio effect filters can give you the 'outside the door' sound to stuff. You could possibly try searching for some software or plugins that change your audio output of your computer. Even some computers have settings in your audio to do effects and stuff. You want to see if there's software or plug-ins that changes your audio output with a low-pass filter. That could be a great way to fix it so you can basically make any video sound like it's coming from inside a room. As for making it sound like someone is there, you could overlay the sound of someone playing with water or something. Like a separate video playing on top of water splashing and playing with water. I can always do another recording, but it might take a while so those are some things that you can look into if you like! :)

There's a lot of foot traffic outside this bathroom I'm in and I was getting stage anxiety over the toilet since there's no sound dampening in this room at all. I cranked this up on my phone and now I can shit in peace. Thanks.

I would tell people that bathroom fans are relaxing. They thought I was weird, lol. Didn't know so many people felt this way about the bathroom fan noise too T_T, lol. P.S., my girlfriends house doesn't have a fan in it. Thank you, lol
