    Hello My Dear and Precious Friend This is My Favorite Question of The Week for your helped My Dad with his Speaking Valve. I really like the animal sounds and keep on practicing with small words video you did for it really helped My Dad alot when he had his Speaking Valve. I will always treasure this fond moment with My Dad and he was able to speak with his Speaking Valve. Your Help is Amazing and I am So Blessed to have found this You Tube Channel.

    Sorry if the question has been answered in earlier videos already, but I wonder how you work around the inspiratory phase? It doesn't seem to interrupt your speech at all!

      That is a great question. I adjust the settings on my ventilator. I increase the inspiration pressure and decrease the time the ventilator gives me a breath in. This way, the ventilator gives me a breath quickly which allows me to speak more fluidly without being interrupted by the ventilator giving me a breath in.

    Do you mostly have the cuff inflated then, and deflate it when you need to speak?

      Yes. I keep my cuff inflated for most of the day. When I need to speak, I deflate it.
